Old Hollywood has nothing on Whiskey Wednesdays/Speakeasy Nights at Rose Bar, a Prohibition-era inspired bar that is both alluring and enchanting, but do not forget the password, or risk missing the fun. During nights not steeped in the Roaring '20s guests may intensify the night at FDR at Delano, a newly constructed nightclub where the music and the clientele are stylish and sophisticated, like every other aspect of Delano South Beach.

We first stayed in Delano fifteen years ago soon after it opened so were interested to return to see if the ground breaking magic still shone. The design now feels like a time piece, having (like its Art Deco inspiration) in the main aged gracefully. The furniture is now chipped here and there and the gleaming white not quite as gleaming as it was but if anything this adds to a modernist old world charm, think battered Eames chair that you'd keep forever. Bedrooms are smallish but well formed, spotlessly clean and have great beds. Service in the main is friendly, efficient and pretty impeccable throughout the hotel as is the food (especially the crab benedict which was our daily favourite). A few negatives, mostly around sound (we had to move to an upper floor after first night). The pool area at weekends becomes a clubbing hub a showy and wild free for all. If this is your thing there's plenty of people watching to do so long as you don't mind battling to the death for a pool chair. Food and drinks are on the expensive side but in fairness this seems to be as much a Miami as a Delano infliction. Watch out for extras, despite paying an additional 'resort' fee of $40 per night, sun umbrellas and certain prime sun beds come at an additional fee, especially in the shabby beach club which is definitely the hotels weak spot. That said, all in all the Delano works, it's a Miami classic and one we'd return to.

I stayed at the Delano this November not for the first time. I was here a lot of times during the last years and always enjoyed the atmosphere and the people of this wonderful place. This time though, I have to mention also some critical points. But lets start with the positive things: as usual, the welcome at the checkin felt great. The team of Jennifer Espinoza, who tooked care of my reservation, did great. Felt like comming home! Thank you. And of course the poolteam with Soledad, Mariano Julie and Cathie where efficient and charming as ever! Thank you guys! And also Marisa at the breakfast, who served us every day, made us feel very much home and comfortable! Thank you very much. But unfortunately I realized some changes which I really did not like and which make me think about trying also another place one day when I come to Miami in the future. The pool was not heated, and especially in November and December, when the weather could also be a bit cooler, I expected to be able to sit in the pool as usually, but this time, the whole week it was freezing cold! And also the two floating mattresses where not there anymore. The Music selection not even close to the cool, chilling sound I was used to from my earlier visits. Now they played the same popsongs as everywhere, not really special! Our room (403) was big and beautiful as usual but the smell not very nice. I missed this beautiful typical Delanofragrance. Instead it smelled more like in a humid celler! And last, the hostesses of the new restaurant where not really attentive, talked a lot with eachother instead of greeting everybody and make them feel welcome! I would like to let you know all of this because maybe the management did not realize those things and I really would like to come back to this beautiful place and next time have a great classy Delanoexperience again!

I first visited Delano 15 years ago and loved it. This hotel still has an amazing vibe and ambiance. The lobby transform into a happening social scene in the evening hours, during day the tall sheers create a breezy effect. The restaurant is amazing, dish after fish was tantalizing, a feast for all senses. Excellent service. The pool area is charming with gazebos and chairs submerged in the pool. The guest rooms are all white and still so fresh after a hot day. I love this hotel and find the ambiance very vibrant and unique.

I have stayed at the Delano 4 times and loved every visit. It's the perfect place to spend a weekend with a special friend or have a corporate meeting, assuming your corporation is cool as f$ck. I'll break it into two sections so you can see what i mean: Personal Visit My wife and i have stayed here and always have a blast. The pool scene is super dope during the day. It's intimate enough to get to know your neighbors or if you prefer, sun bath alone and zen out. Other hotels like the W and Fountainebeau are nice but lack the intimacy of the Delano. At night the pool bar comes alive and its full of great folks who are mostly professionals. The highlight for us is to sit at the bistro table in the pool...very fun! Professional Visit We had a 40 person corporate function and used Studio 1 and 2. The F&B was great and offered a lot of value given the property and price. Staff was attentive and everything went smoothly. Stayed in one of the Bungalow which was great for private meetings. In summary, just go. It's a chill vibe with friendly people from all over. It's very hard not to have a great time at the Delano!

Went along for Brunch on our first day in Miami and so excited to see the decor and gardens. Welcomed and directed from the front of the hotel very professionally but with a hint of personality. The Hosts at the terrace were very accommodating when we asked to move table due to the live music, it was much more appreciated from a distance rather than next to it. It was a sunday brunch, buffet style and this was all conveyed to us by Ryan the waiter. We wanted for nothing, prosecco topped up, plates cleared, fresh cutlery friendly interaction - he gauged the table perfectly and we appreciated the quality he provided. It wasn't just restricted to ourselves as he had a large section with 2 big tables but he had time for everybody. We then asked to speak with his manager Delphine; stunning, graceful manner about the restaurant, to establish how the tips would be split as nobody else had touched our tables and working in hospitality i suspected the service tips would be split between the staff however we wanted to "reward" Ryan for great service throughout our stay. Delphine explained the process and couldn't have been more pleasant in explaining an emotive subject - neither judgemental nor condoning. We had the best start to our holiday, in amazing surroundings with some of the best service i've ever received. Thank you Ryan and Delphine a total credit to the company and we look forward to seeing you soon.
