Everything was top notch about this hotel. Beautiful, comfortable and clean rooms/hotel with great facilities. Luis was very kind to upgrade our rooms and left us a welcome note and a special amenity providing a warm personal touch. Every staff member that we encountered was professional, eager to assist and absolute pleasure to deal with. Service was prompt and no request seemed to be too much of a trouble. I will definitely return with a heart beat. This hotel will be my second home when it's -35c in Montreal. Highly recommended!!

Great Beach and beautiful pool area--beer and food served on beach. Dinning in the hotel is expensive, better to eat out. Close to restaurants and shopping -- Great service and valet - be prepared to pay 30 for parking. Hotel is geared towards middle age to older travelers.

The hotel is chic and comfortable and the staff is outstanding. We loved the amenities, the food and the atmosphere. The pool and the beach are just beautiful. Highly recommend it. This will be our hotel for future Miami trips.

We stayed May 9-13th 2017. How can they accomplish what they do? This is our second glowing review of the Palms and were surprised how consistently good this privately owned resort really is. We tend to get easily pissed-off by inferior service and I'm a little amazed how we never find things to be upset about here. It seems that consistency is a great attribute of the Palms. Our last trip was 3 years ago and we had a great time and wanted to come back. Unfortunately life got in the way and it took us three years before a last-minute opportunity came up. Just to put things in perspective, we are an engineer and a property manager & former bartender of 30 years. On vacation we gravitate towards good food and drink, beach, sun, and less of the nightlife than in the old days. Besides side trips to Haulover beach and Lincoln Rd for Cuban food, we spent all our trip this time just enjoying the Palms. On this trip maybe we were more observant of things and even looked for deficiencies but this trip was as perfect as the last. We spent a lot of time chatting with staff at the pool/tiki bar and beach areas and we understood this was a bit of a quiet time (probably a great time for vacation in Miami, after spring break and before kids get out of school). We wondered how they can possibly accomplish what they do here: Everybody seems happy, the staff is obviously chosen for their high level of hospitality, and the place is impeccably maintained. Its hard to describe this aspect, but it seems like the hospitality is contagious to the guests: people talk to each other, families mind their kids / couples don't mind the families, there's respect around the pool and the beach, people say hello when they pass. In our opinion its a perfect size and feels like a big place and a small place at the same time. Big Place as in: *Services, food / lounge / restaurant, gift shop, in house high end spa, large high-end staff, etc. Small Place as in: *Super personal service, easy access to everything, no waiting for a lounge chair on the beach, seat at the bar or even a table in the restaurant 99% of the time, nice family atmosphere and 30 second walk between the room, the beach, the pool, and the tiki bar. One good example is that the pool is open all hours and on both of our trips we never saw any lack of respect (aka problems/ loudness) at the pool even at 9pm when there may be a couple of people with some kids, and a few couples or older folks swimming or hanging out after dark in the torch light. We thought once or twice that it would be good if the Tiki bar stayed open later after dinnertime, but its probably by-design to maintain some peace at night and it seems to work. So on the food: At the tiki Bar: The turkey empinadas were great; Corvina was the fish of the week and I had it at Essensia and at the Tiki bar. Blackened shrimp is awesome. The food at Essensia is always fresh, tasty, maybe a little over-complicated for somebody like me but the roasted pork loin and fresh corvina we had was awesome, and the breakfasts were great. The Beach / Pool / Bar Always clean and impeccable and the folks out there work hard. If you want to sit on the beach and have a drink brought to you, it's there in 2 minutes. We had time to chat with the staff and they were good to talk to. We saw people that just arrived wander over to the Tiki bar for their first vacation cocktail and you could see their faces go immediately into comfortable-mode and start relaxing- if they were from another country, there was always someone on the staff that spoke their language and became their immediate friend. This place has more personality than anywhere else we've stayed. If we know their names it means because we saw them doing a great job, had the opportunity to meet them and we wanted to recognize Dayron, Pedro, Stephanie, Armand, Delise, Yele, Ellen, Kat, Dana, Susan, Xavier, Max, Pauline, Yoli and everybody else who always said hello. I'm glad we took the time to write this because we really enjoyed our second vacation there and the points we mentioned above are all are the reason. Its the resort's people that make the difference and whatever they are doing to breed this atmosphere has obviously been working consistently well. Unlike some other pretentious resorts we've stayed at in Miami, these folks operate the place like they want you to come back again and again, and they act that way with everything they do. I think we'll be back again sooner than later. Nick and Leslie

The place was ok. Cons: rooms were small and minibar drinks are expensive including dining there so if you don't have a fat wallet stay away from it and go dine elsewhere for a lot cheaper and better. Bottled of water is $5 and coffee is $6, 2 burgers with a drink will cost you around $60, not worth it extremely greasy. There is a mini market two blocks away and you can get all this stuff for a lot cheaper and Starbucks is also two blocks away which had a sign "coming soon". Also no music by the beach it's just boring and dead. There is a service fee of $27 a day which is extra but yet they also add 18% gratuity to everything you order or dine so I didn't understand that part if I'm paying for service why should I tip an additional 18%? Pros: the Hotel is in a good shape, clean rooms and nice small pool and the beach is right across the boardwalk. Boardwalk is pretty nice to walk night time. Staff are okay depends who you get to serve you. Overall I don't think I would go back to this place and the only reason is because of their overpricing.
