We enjoyed our stay at the Raleigh. It was centrally located and we could easily walk to anything in the area. We were a little disappointed that the pool was being renovated, but the free wine from 5-6pm, and access to the sister hotel pools made up for it. Would recommend and would stay again.

Not much more to say other than the above. Food was great, but the whole experience was let down by extremely slow, poor, table service. Were left waiting 25-30min for each course, had to chase up our drinks order three times, and then were expected to pay 18% service charge 'as standard'. Lovely food but completely let down by the service.

We got a great deal on The Raleigh our last nice in Miami and it was well worth it! Right on the best beach, with reserved beach chairs, and amazing pool, trendy lobby with pics of celebrities from the glam days of 1950's Miami social scene, great restaurant, comfy rooms and top-notch service. We wish we'd stayed there the whole time! We paid for the "glam" package that included early check-in, free valet (although parking was still $24/day), breakfast, 2 cocktails and the resort fee of $32 included the cost of 2 beach chairs for the day. Plus the room rate was 50% off because I guess this is their low season (August). I'll take that deal all day!!!

We booked a stay for 14 nights at the Raleigh based on the smaller more intimate nature compared with some of the other huge hotels in Miami but also the undeniably beautiful pool. We loved the idea of going between the beach and the pool, this was truly as perfect as we had hoped for the first 7 days. Beautiful hotel, very attentive and super food from the restaurant. Then the hotel decided to close and renovate the pool with no notice, I mean none at all decision was made Friday work started Monday and we were told not a word, we only found out from overhearing a conversation. The hotel had our email, mobile and room number and chose not to inform us. When we asked reception they gave us a letter that simply stated the pool was to be closed during our stay but not even how long. We were told that we could use their sister hotels pools but to be honest they are not our scene, much noisier and the pools nowhere near as good as the Raleigh. We booked a hotel with a pool and instead we have spent the last week walking between the beaches and the other pool and hotel, not the biggest problem in the world but does take away from the relaxing holiday planned back in December. Nothing was offered to compensate us for the major disruption so we contacted our travel agent who was shocked at the information and advised us to speak to the management which we did. Thankfully we spoke to a very helpful manager called Kimberley who tried to do everything she could to make the remainder of the holiday as positive as it could be. The second week we have spent considerable time at the beach and SBE should be really grateful to the staff who have worked at the beach this week as they have been the true difference and they understand true customer service. Xavian made us feel relaxed and could not have been more helpful. He always took the time to make conversation and was genuinely interested in how our holiday was going. Terrell is similarly helpful and worked really hard to make us comfortable on the beach. These two guys really helped make up for the upper managements decision to close the pool mid break and without any notice. Not even the staff knew until two days before. There is no doubt that the pool situation was really poorly managed by SBE and they didn't consider those people whose holidays would be affected. We had saved and looked forward to our holiday for months and it had turned out to be less than the perfect experience it could have been.
