I stayed five nights here, and enjoyed it a lot. The only issue I had with the room was that it was above the restaurant area, and the music could be heard faintly within the room (it was turned off at about 12pm). I should state that this didn't bother me, and I didn't make the hotel staff aware of it, although it might bother some people. Unlike some other reviewers, I was happy with the comfort level of the bed, and the room overall. It was cleaned daily, to a decent standard, and although the bathroom was small, it was entirely adequate. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful, and it's nice to see the same faces, with it being a relatively small hotel. The really outstanding feature for me was the location, which was pretty close to perfection, being right across from the beach, on Ocean Drive. This is a quiet upmarket part of South Beach, and importantly, there is no near parking, which keeps a certain undesirable element to a minimum. You are more likely to get locals who have cycled here, than crowds of kids on their one annual excursion to the beach from St Jackshit, Tennessee. The resort fee pays for a sun lounger and parasol in the part of the beach which is accessed from 4th Street, and this is very much worth having. To rent these would cost in excess of $20 per day, otherwise. There are a lot of decent restaurants in the near vicinity, but as I mentioned previously, it's quite a quiet area, so if you've come for bars and clubs, you'll have a bit of a walk. Overall, though, if you've just come to relax on the beach, I can't recommend this place highly enough.
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. On checking in, opted for the valet parking instead of hunting for a parking lot after a long days traveling. Looking back, it was the right option for us, it costs $35 per day, which is reasonable for a no hassle service. We didn’t have to wait anymore than 15 - 20 minutes at any time to get the car. Lobby area is well presented with seating for the restaurant (Salt) in part of the entrance area and front porch area. Welcomed by friendly/helpful staff. The room had a kingsize bed, which was comfy and huge in comparison for someone coming from the U.K.. The room wasn’t clinically clean, but if you don’t mind a bit of dust on the skirting boards and the odd hair in the sink, it’s fine. Breakfast was satisfactory with a decent spread of hot and cold food and drinks. It was nice sitting out the front having breakfast watching the world go by. The area was ideal, relatively quiet just on the outskirts of the busy part of Miami Beach, but easily within walking distance and a stones throw from the beach. We did see a parking attendant hard at work one morning handing out tickets like confetti, valet parking was a good idea!!!! No negatives, would recommend.

The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful during our short stay. The location is ok if you just want to be close to the beach (it is just across the street). The hotel provides beach towels and has an agreement with a company on the beach to use their chairs and umbrellas (this is what the $10 resort fee is paying for). For those visiting for the nightlife, it is quite a walk to get to some of the bars/clubs that are further north. The only parking option at this hotel is valet, which is a $35/night. The room itself is quite small. Our room had a view of the alley and the wall of the building next door. Based on where the hotel is located, most rooms probably have a similar view. This wasn't a big deal for us, but the thin walls were a bit annoying. You can hear conversations in rooms next to and above/below you pretty clearly. You will also hear every footstep in the hallway outside your room. Overall, a decent place to stay for the price if you are mainly visiting to hang out at the beach and don't mind the thin walls.
