I was in town for a night and wanted a great South Beach experience and Royal Palm did not disappoint! The staff was very accommodating and upgraded me to a room with an ocean view and balcony. The hotel is right on the beach so we sat and enjoyed the beach and spent the evening at the pool and hot tub, highly recommended!

The concierge and front desk is absolutely amazing. Very welcoming and nice and friendly. Lobby area is beautiful and smells amazing when you first walk-in. However, when getting to the floor you notice the hallways need some improvement. The carpets needs to be cleaned our replaced from to many steins. The walls need to be painted as well. The room was okay, beds are a little small. It says online that a deluxe 2 bed room can sleep 4, but the room is small and beds are more like twin/full! Bathroom is big and nice and decor just okay. As a travel Agent they do not offer any incentives, however a manger offered me a later check out. However, they sent a letter the morning of check-out stating they could not accommodate my late check-out. So if you are a travel agent don't bank on them keeping they end of the deal!

The Royal Palm South Beach exceeded all of our expectations, and we're definitely staying again next time in Miami! Location: Perfectly situated right where Ocean Drive ends, we were in the perfect location for the best clubs, shopping, and restaurants that South Beach has to offer. When you walk out of the back of the hotel, you're already right on the beach! One block to the Lincoln Road shops, 2 blocks to Española Way and its lively restaurants/nightlife, and 2 blocks from Ocean Drive for sightseeing and people-watching. Beach: Very clean and well-maintained, and your room includes two beach chairs with towels and bottled water to your heart's content. Umbrellas are unfortunately another $19, which we politely declined since we weren't out there for more than 90 minutes at a time. We hit the beach early each day (9:30-10 am), which was good to get the best seats. Pool: They really do have 3 pools, and I'd advise going to the second floor (smaller) pool if you want space to move around since the main pool gets crowded by midday. All three are clean and well-appointed with lots of chairs. Lobby: Very modern and large with lots of seating, making us feel very welcome. Check-in was quite smooth, and they held our bags until our room was ready. Check-in at 4 pm, we arrived at 12:30, room was ready by 2:30 pm. The front desk staff and valet attendants were very polite. Room: We reserved a studio suite, but were upgraded to an apartment suite upon check-in (see attached pics). The room was spacious and clean with an included mini-fridge. There weren't any settings on the fridge, so you can't get your drinks colder faster, but once they reached the desired temp the fridge kept it there. The shower was amazing! Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all on pump dispensers in the very large shower made for that much better of an experience. Our room faced south, which did allow for a partial ocean view that was quite nice. Only the largest suite on each floor faces east if you want a full ocean view and a Miami sunrise entering your room each morning. We did have a standing room only balcony that we enjoyed as well. The bed was extremely comfortable, which made getting to the beach early quite difficult. The WiFi was super fast, allowing us to stream recorded shows from our home DVR to our iPad with ease. The room also included unlimited coffee, tea, and bottled water, which is a really nice touch since Miami Beach will nickel and dime you on just about everything else. Our Adventure: My wife was 7.5 months pregnant, and the plan was to be in and out of Miami with more than a month to spare before our son was born. Unfortunately, he decided to crash our Miami party less than 24 hours after we checked in! We had to rent a car and swallow the $42/night valet fee, but the hotel accommodated us with a food credit in their excellent restaurant that made it more palatable. The housekeeping staff went out of their way to make sure we had extra water since being forced to pump on vacation was not part of the original plan. We will definitely return to the Royal Palm for our Miami vacation do-over!!
