This is a small all suite hotel and yes old but full of character and history. It was sold several years ago and along with that some significant art throughout the hotel. Sad to see it gone but the new owners seem to be on track to reinventing the vision of the previous owner. It's a walk back in time here. Don't expect you'll be staying in a chain hotel. The rooms do need some updates for sure but look at the unique design not your every day hotel room for sure.I hope as they renovate they keep the integrity of the original design. Rooms are clean and spacious on the beach and close to all sobe has to offer. The staff here go out of their way to help you and make you feel at home. You're right on the beach and beach walk. Beach chairs and towels free. Pool area is nice with pool bar and food available. Great location to walk about anywhere to shop and dine. We'll be back

The position of the Sagamore is perfect for exploring Miami beach and the surrounding area. However our room was fairly grubby, with inadequate mattress on sofa bed. Everything single thing at this hotel needs attention. From pool area to stairwells. Apart from the reception area which houses some amazing artworks. We also had some issues with payments via booking.com but that's hardly the hotels problem. Valet parking is extortionate as are drinks around pool. (In keeping with the whole of Florida)

So let me first start by saying what an amazing time we had on our girls trip in Miami- such a fun city with so much to do! Anyway, as far as our stay at the Sagamore, that was great too! I was a little worried given the recent poor reviews that I started seeing after we had already booked it but you can't trust everything you read on the internet, clearly. Confused as to what others were expecting given their disappointment with a perfectly fine hotel, priced at one of the lowest rates for one of probably the largest spaces along Collins. If you want a luxury hotel with fancy amenities, this is not your spot, but the Sagamore does not pretend to be that so that's your problem if you set unrealistic expectations. Anyway, I digress, the rooms/hallways could without a doubt use a major facelift. Furniture and overall appearance just looks worn and the cleanliness was not as not as good as it could have been, but looking past that it was a great stay. Every staff member we encountered was amazing and was more than happy to help with whatever we needed! They went above and beyond with the service! Rooms were quite large which was a huge plus and despite the cigarette burn on one of the couch cushions, the couch and beds were extremely comfortable! The hotel lobby and dining areas were all beautiful and spotless- very aesthetically pleasing to make up for the slight lack of shine in the rooms ;) Pool area was also great, again, the chairs and patio furniture could use some updates but were definitely usable. We only laid on the beach one day but the service down there was awesome and the chairs were a great perk. The location of the Sagamore is also prime! Right on the beach, right in the middle of South Beach and in close to vicinity to all bars/clubs/anything else you may want to do. There are also tons of food options nearby to grab a bite if you don't want to eat at the hotel restaurant all the time. Overall, the Sagamore had a positive impact on our stay in Miami! As stated, the hotel rooms could definitely use renovations but I know that they already have this in the works so I would love to come back again after renovations (and even before :)) Thanks for an awesome girls weekend!!

My sister and I had booked the Sagamore before knowing about the possibility that IRMA might hit South Beach. I got a very good offer for a garden view suite including breakfast from James who is the assistant manager but we were insecure if the stay after Irma was possible. James gave us correct info about the damages and that there would be no problem at the property So thanks for the info James, we really did enjoy the stay. James is really super nice and even got us tickets for an art center for free. He was always very helpful and manages to get rid of all problems or arranges a late check out for. So it's two thumps up for him. The rooms are huge for Miami and they already started to renovate and did put new furniture in. Breakfast was included in form of a small buffet which was ok. In addition we were happy to see Gregory again who works the rooms, fills the mini bar etc. He is a super nice guy, good to talk to and seems to manage to find time to talk customers without missing on his duties. He took care of whatever was needed in our room. In overall your stay was very good, the rooms clean and large. But as a returning customer I miss the "old" times when the service at the pool was excellent with seat covers, as many towels as you needed ...... Now no more seat covers and only one towel. Fortunately the manager took care of this for us and arranged a second towel card for us. Last thing I want to mention is the new chef of the restaurant who tries to bring new ideas to the menu. We tried the menu for Miami Spice and found it very good.
