Having stayed at the Sagamore twice previously, we found this latest trip to be a disappointment. The ocean bungalow room was tired and in disrepair - scuffed walls, chipped cupboards, handles falling off many of the faucets. Also, despite paying a daily resort fee, we were only given 2 beach chairs per day. We had 4 people in our room, so we had to pay $13 for each additional chair. Not sure if that is also the case at the pool. The pool was constantly crowded and filled with loud children so it was not appealing. The people who worked there were all very kind and accommodating; however, there never seemed to be enough of them.

My wife and I very much enjoy Miami Beach. We have twice previously stayed at the Sagamore and enjoyed our experience enough to book a third time. The location is fantastic and the common areas lovely with great art. However the state of the guest rooms is positively pitiful and in need of a complete makeover. My wife, two sons and I rented a two story bungalow for approximately $475 per night + a $25 daily resort fee. The resort fee covers two chairs, additional chairs are an additional $13, thus our real cost was about $525 per night. The hotel is incredibly understaffed with often only one beach attendant. On 3 of our 4 days the beach ran out of towels (by noon) thus our $25 dollar resort fee payed for two frayed worn chairs and no towels. Having enough towels for guests is a minimal basic expectation for a beach resort. The neighboring properties on the beach (Ritz and National) overflowed with towels and friendly attendants bringing drinks and food. My greatest gripe however is the incredible state of disrepair of our room. The bath faucet handle fell off when touched, the bar sink shot water sideways across the room, every painted surface needed re-painting, every tiled surface needed re-grouting, every upholstered surface was stained, and every wood surface was chipped and loosing laminate (held on in places by scotch tape). I have never seen such disrepair when I've payed $50 a night in rural South American or Eastern Europe. Paying over $500 a night for such a room literally left me feeling conned. In the future when returning to Miami Beach I will stay in one of the hotels near the Sagamore, but certainly will not return.

We picked the Sagamore because of the pictures on their website. The rooms looked modern and chic which is what we like. The communal areas of this hotel are just that but the rooms are not as good. The rooms are ok and that is the best I can say the room was clean but the decor and furnishings were tatty like they had never been repainted ever. Our sofa had tears in it and for a hotel of that calibre it was disappointing, Rooms should come with at least 4 of everything supplied, cups glasses towels etc as they advertise room sleeps 4 yet there is only 2 of each thing. Whilst the housekeeping team were extremely helpful and brought you more it was frustrating having to ask daily for more towels etc. The FOH staff were pleasant enough but did not make us feel as welcomed as I expected checking in took over 40 mins and after a long flight from London I was a tad annoyed more because there was no apology for it taking so long. We went into two other hotels for breakfast even though breakfast was served at the Sagamore and the only reason for that was lack of enthusiasm from the FOH staff they barely spoke as we walked past the breakfast area on our way out to look for breakfast. The pool area and the beach was lovely and the staff there too were great. I hope to visit South Beach in the future I will pick another hotel I hope they get the rooms to a better standard as the location was superb

Rude is an understatement. My girlfriend and I had a delayed flight and delayed arrival and not only did the front desk give our reservation away he said the only way to get another room would be to pay double the original price. He was condescending and almost got pleasure out of the exchange. He lost money for his hotel and is the sole reason for this poor review. He was working the night shift 3/31/2017

Asst GM James D'Agostino and the staff at the Sagamore were outstanding! Our group of 9 (my wife and I, our daughter, and 6 of her friends) truly felt at home at the Sagamore. Every effort was made by the entire staff, including Zoran and the others working to make guests comfortable at poolside and at the beach, to be helpful in numerous ways, and did so with a smile. Mr. D'Agostino went the extra mile to do his best to make my daughter, who'd become sick on checkout day, comfortable during the several hours leading up to our evening departure flight back home to Indiana. The Sagamore hotel was a perfect fit for our group, given its proximity to Lincoln Rd, and we loved the smaller numbers of people that come with a smaller boutique style hotel such as the Sagamore. Families would find the Sagamore "family friendly." We will return.
