SLS Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida
Collins Avenue newcomer SLS Hotel South Beach tops Miami’s “It List” for its celeb-studded restaurants and nightlife, the two elements that define the SLS brand. José Andres makes his Miami debut with The Bazaar, and acclaimed sushi chef Katsua Uechi brings a second high-profile restaurant to the mix. Cabanas at the beachfront club Hyde Beach are almost as sultry as the rooms – designer Philippe Starck modeled them like a modern-day boudoir of Louis XV’s mistress, with French furniture and mirrored ceilings.
The Atlantic Ocean glitters right out your window, but you might have a tough time deciding whether to leave your sumptuous room. Order room service with champagne for breakfast. Don a Valentino swimsuit and saunter through the halls of this former Art Deco palace. Claim a poolside lounge chair and order a Burning Mango cocktail made with Grey Goose L’Orange vodka, Serrano pepper and mango juice.

Reviews for SLS Hotel South Beach
Upon arrival i pass over my ID and credit card, then go sit elsewhere. I was told by the manager (Gary) a few mins later that there had been problems with a previous bachelor party and my room would not be ready till tomorrow. My initial reaction was to laugh, till i realised what was happening day 1 of my personal vacation but day 18 of living out of a suitcase in America. I was told i would be put in a sister hotel called Shore club. I will not make any comment on that hotel here, however suffice it to say, not my style, not my scene, not what i paid for. I was livid. Gary offered me a sea view upgrade which was useless to me as i had already made arrangements with my concierge to change my initial booking which was a total oversight with the city view room. That enticement didn't impress me at all. I just wanted to settle down and relax for the 7 days i had planned. Not do a 24 hour stint down the road. Gary then offered me an upgrade to a suite which according to him goes for 1500$ a night. It had a large balcony, huge toilet and wardrobe, a couch. Any other hotel, it would be a king room. Here, it's a suite. Can't even imagine what the regular rooms are like if this is the suite. Never mind. The issue was i still had to partially pay for the upgrade. It still wasn't totally on the house which is should have for the big mess. We ended up negotiating and came to a happy medium. I think it was ridiculous i had to pay anything at all. If the room wasn't empty they wouldn't have been able to put me up in it. Even though the balcony is directly above the hotel pool, the window is great so noise levels are minimal, surprisingly. Due to the 'party' nature of the hotel, there a lot of day and night visitors. This can mean drunk 20 something year olds causing noise and trouble etc. The staff are good at controlling that (for the most part) BUT that means if you come across a member of staff you've not seen, you can easily be met with hostility until they see you are a resident and you are sober. Sometimes though, i wish i didn't have to try so hard at proving i am paying good money to stay at the SLS. When i checked in i had a bottle of champagne waiting for me which was nice, but again...big whoop! It's about time i have my room it's been a whole 24 hours since arriving into Miami. A few pleasant days go by, and my only comment is the pricing of drinks, umbrellas etc etc is just extortionate. Didn't stop me, i was still spending away and having fun. Halfway through my trip, i was told by members of staff (not nicely, might i add) that there was a problem with my credit card. There shouldn't have been. When i called my bank (which was an international call and cost at least $20 to make) they told me they froze the account because of the following reasons: suspected fraud. There were too many activities in different hotels in miami south beach on the same day. I reactivated it, which they warned me could be 24-48 hours. I felt so awkward by the staffs approach i used a debit card to take cash out, and settle what i've eaten etc this far, leave more for incidentals. ON THAT DAY. That's never happened to me before. The approach was a bit appalling. Again, i can understand it. But i was still there for another 3 days, really, not gonna run away. When i paid, the manager did all the tricks with the notes to check if they are counterfeit. There were so many people checking in around us. Again, doesn't usually happen to me and there is usually more tact. Generally, i would say 85% of the people are helpful. The breakfast is terrible and too expensive for what it is. Toiletries are good, bed was comfy... drinks and food are average. Would i go back? Maybe. Would i recommend it? Probably not.

PJ made our stay at SLS the best time ever. He was so accommodating to us while on the beach with 16 girls. He was attentive and sweet and couldn't do enough to make sure we had the best time. Thanks PJ
The pool party at this place is truly a one of a kind, sensory overload experience. Sights and sounds beyond imagine, all set in background of the SLS Hotel. An annual getaway for my friends and me consistently turns into a who's who or familiar faces at the SLS Pool - this staff retention is truly a key to making this party amazing. Familiar smiling faces always welcome you to the opulence. Not one party goes by without the white glove treatment of Nicole David. Her client facing approach is invaluable to an organization and should not be taken lightly. She could teach a course on customer relations. This year made another new friend from the staff, Euromar, aka Yomar, not only greeted us with a smile but consistently ensured we were in good spirits and had anything and everything we could need. High quality staff are a main reason this party is top notch.

I am staying here in 2 weeks and have tried to contact the hotel on numerous occasions beforehand with a few questions/ requests NO ONE is getting back to my emails (I have sent 5 now, everyone I have spoken with on the phone is rude and hung up/ put me on hold for 20 minutes/ said they will put me through to someone else and just hung up. I have stayed in top hotels around the world and have never experienced attitude and bad service like this, it sounds like I am speaking with disgruntled teenagers and I am seriously considering changing my hotel.

Beautiful room, excellent ammenities, clean. Good staff. Daily USD 35 resort fee does not include umbrella! If you need one, you have to pay an extra USD 20. Abusive. Be careful because they hold pool parties on sundays...if you don't want noite, avoid it.
