SLS Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida

Collins Avenue newcomer SLS Hotel South Beach tops Miami’s “It List” for its celeb-studded restaurants and nightlife, the two elements that define the SLS brand. José Andres makes his Miami debut with The Bazaar, and acclaimed sushi chef Katsua Uechi brings a second high-profile restaurant to the mix. Cabanas at the beachfront club Hyde Beach are almost as sultry as the rooms – designer Philippe Starck modeled them like a modern-day boudoir of Louis XV’s mistress, with French furniture and mirrored ceilings.

The Atlantic Ocean glitters right out your window, but you might have a tough time deciding whether to leave your sumptuous room. Order room service with champagne for breakfast. Don a Valentino swimsuit and saunter through the halls of this former Art Deco palace. Claim a poolside lounge chair and order a Burning Mango cocktail made with Grey Goose L’Orange vodka, Serrano pepper and mango juice.

Pros - great location, nice pool, fun pool party, pretty hotel Cons - rooms are small, air conditioning did not work properly. the cleaning staff never actually cleaned our room, they would make the bed, collect dirty towels and leave new ones. When we checked out on Monday there was still trash and room service items in the room from Friday. Be cautious of the wait staff at the pool on Saturdays. We were 4 girls who ordered 1 order of sushi, chips/guac, and fries. The waitress delivered us 3 orders of everything (which we did not order). We addressed this as soon as she brought the food over and she would not remove the extra items delivered. We ended up being responsible for $250 of food we never ordered, it seemed like they were taking advantage of people drinking.

Very good rooms and excellent location. The beach view rooms are highly recommended. Checked in at night but came to know abt the beauty when woke up in the morning seeing the sunrise at the beach directy from my room window. All walls are covered with loose curtains with medieval designs which was not to cover someting, infact to add beauty.

PJ down at the beach is the best! Goes above and beyond expectations. Very attentive and helpful, he made sure we were comfortable and had enough chairs for all of us. Franklin the server was also the best and super attentive.
