The Villa Casa Casuarina in Miami Beach, Florida
The Villa Casa Casuarina, the former home of Gianni Versace, has been transformed into an elegant Miami Beach retreat. Built in 1930, the mansion has the designer's touch throughout, and is a mix of Spanish and Italian influences coupled with opulent details. The Ocean Drive manor-turned-boutique-hotel features just 10 suites showcasing rich and vibrant hues with only the finest of furnishings displayed. Lounge by the legendary mosaic pool or slip behind the curtain of a luxury beachfront cabana. Sunset cocktails are best enjoyed in the Observatory lounge overlooking the glistening Atlantic Ocean. Casa Casuarina also features a trio of sultry lounges including one for cigar aficionados. Guests can enjoy culinary specialties atop the upper terrace with views of the tropical gardens. The acclaimed fine dining establishment Loftin's 1116 Ocean, with its detailed stone mosaic, adds an element of drama to your meals. It is easy to envision the likes of Madonna or Elton John supping here during Versace's celebrated reign.
Miami's zesty vibe can be credited to its diverse districts, including South Beach - better known as "SoBe" - where the buildings are coated in pastel hues. The area is flanked with trendy nightclubs, stylish shops and restaurants where locals pose in high fashion style as they eat. The Art Deco District is another mesmerizing and hip area with buildings preserved to look much the way they did back in their heyday. When the sun goes down in Miami that is when things tend to heat up with a party lasting until the wee hours of the morning.

Reviews for The Villa Casa Casuarina
If you plan on traveling to Miami, plan to also visit the fabled Versace Mansion on Ocean Drive. It’s one of my “go to” places when I’m in town and love, love, love the iconic venue. The former estate of the late fashion designer Gianni Versace was purchased in September 2013 to a Florida business connected to Jordache Enterprises. The Mansion was purchased at auction with a winning bid of $41.5 million. Back to it’s original name from the 1930’s (when the home was originally built), The Villa Casa Casaurina includes an intimate Mediterranean-style restaurant, the Million Mosaic Pool once visited by Elton John and Princess Diana and a private hotel for exclusive travelers. Within the hotel, ten suites are all designed with original Versace prints including the 1174 square-foot Villa Suite – Versace’s former bedroom. The room features a nine-foot, double king-sized bed, two balconies and a large mosaic shower. Three types of suites are available to guests; the Superior Suite, the Exceptional Suite and the One Bedroom Suite. The property also consists of a gym, The Onyx Bar, The Villa Spa, a rooftop bar and an open courtyard in the center of it all. For exceptional dining, Restaurant Gianni’s at the Villa has a to-die-for menu with a long list of wines for any budget. It’s perfect for a group dinner, a romantic evening with a loved one and great for special family or corporate events. I just recently stopped here a couple months ago while traveling with my family for Spring Break but my first visit to the Villa was back in 2011 when it was mainly called The Villa by Barton G. Eighteen of us attended a private dinner poolside. The service was impeccable, the menu exactly what I expected and the atmosphere was both sensual and romantic. Being a fashion blogger and someone who has always loved Gianni Versace, I was in awestruck the entire evening while in attendance. Looking to visit too? I’m sure you will love the historic items planted on property, love the eats and without a doubt enjoy your stay.

what a beautiful place to experience great food well done to the Chef and wines which was complimented by our Server Robert G who made us feel welcome and comfortable exceptional service. The surroundings are delightful and very romantic a very enjoyable evening . And yes it is expensive but i wouldn’t expect anything less . A lovely way to enjoy South Miami . thank you.
Everything was wonderful, The warm hospitality of all employees, the beautiful Azure Suite, fabulous food and wine by the stunning pool and patio offers the best of the best!! P.S. Loved the privacy!!!
My honest review is meant to offer future patrons a warning...the Villa is absolutely stunning with a rich history of a legendary designer taken from us way too soon!!! My girlfriend and I reserved 2 nights and left after one...the pool is the focal point of the property and closed to guests for private events, one was a private fitness photo shoot and the other was a daytime setup for a food event!!! The air conditioning in the suite was broken and there weren't robes in the suite! The two women who ran the checkin desk were amazing but one was yelled at by a supervisor in front of us!! There really isn't a GM because he manages the Victor Hotel next door and isn't present in any form. I left a message for him personally, he received it by his staff and he never called!! Obviously, didn't care! He shouldn't be a GM!!! His subordinate manager at the Villa told me "I would be very upset too, with the pool being closed" yet she did nothing lol!!! So, my best advice to you would be, enjoy a romantic evening dinner as is allowed but don't waste your money on a room!!! Regards,
I had the pleasure of spending my birthday weekend June 10-12th at Villa Casa Cuasarina (best known as the Versace mansion). I noticed most reviews online are from people who have visited the restaurant, not people who've actually stayed at the mansion. Hence, why I'm taking the time to share my experience. Aside from the assumption that I must be waiting for the restaurant to open rather than actually being a guest of the hotel upon arrival, everything was perfect. The pool is breathtaking and we were able to enjoy it during the day and late at night uninterrupted. With only 10 suites, it felt quite exclusive. Our suite, Aurora, was beautiful (like being in an old castle from another era). Speaking of exclusivity, during the day the gates are open but no one is allowed to enter without a restaurant reservation (only during restaurant hours which I believe is 6-10) or being guests of the mansion. You'd be amazed at how many people stop just to take photos of the entrance. At night, the gates are closed and a guard is there to let you in if you belong. Service is great as it should be for the price. We went to Prime 112 Saturday night and had plenty of leftovers. The next day my boyfriend decided we should enjoy our leftovers by the pool. I went to one of the lovely young ladies who assisted us throughout our stay and asked if someone could warm our food. She said she'd send Micheal to the pool. His name stands out to me because his service was exceptional. He greeted us at the pool, took our food, and brought it back at the perfect temperature. He then proceeded to create a serving area by our pool loungers complete with a bottle of champagne which he poured for us. Loved him! I have to mention the pool again. The fact that there are only 10 suites - and it seemed as if no more than 3 were rented that weekend - meant so much privacy to really enjoy the pool and everything else. The details (gold, mosaic tiles, etc) were amazing. The only time there's activity other than your own at the mansion is during restaurant hours. There's music and people for a few hours, then back to normal after. You can't swim during restaurant hours, but you're free to swim undisturbed before and after. I had a birthday dinner in the dining room up front and it was gorgeous. No one was there but my guests, which wasn't intentional but the fact that people that are just there for dinner prefer to be seated by the pool meant I had a private dining experience! I highly recommend Villa Casa Cuasarina for an exclusive, upscale, glamorous experience.
