Check in was good. The agent let me know he could check me in early to a nice room, which is great because I booked through a third party and sometimes hotels give you accommodations that match the room rate you pay. I was also offered an upgrade to the executive suite for a small upgrade fee which I wasn't sure would be necessary because I was staying by myself. I got to my room which was really nice but I thought hey might as well see what the upgrade is like. Called to the front desk and asked if I could see the room they said they would send someone up in 5 to 10 minutes. 30 minutes goes by noone comes up. I call down the front desk lady tells me they will send someone when they can but that right now the front desk is busy. No problem, I understood it was check in time. No one ever comes up. Then the toilet is stopped up. Call for an engineer, the engineer comes up and fixes the toilet. I take a nap use the restroom again the toilet stops again. I call for an engineer. 30 minutes to an hour goes by, no one comes up. I leave to go to the story and approach the front desk to an agent that makes me feel as though she is being bothered. I let her know that noone has been up to show me the room and that noone has been there to clear the toilet. When I return they show me the upgrade and the toilet is clear. Great. I checked in at 2 this is all happening around 6 oclock. From there I just dealt with loudness. You can hear everything that goes on in the hallways and loudness from the room above you. I stayed at the Kimpton EPIC the night before and the silence there was like a dream come true, not to mention fast service and balconys. I was hoping for the same 5 star experience at the Marriot but unfortunately did not. Probably would not stay here again ever.

I give it a 10 out of 5. The properties service culture, lives up to the hospitality industries most important pillars: customer service. From Edgar on their Club Lounge, to Stephanie (FD), Concierge (Andres, Michael, and of course Eduardo R.), to name a few can be counted on 100%. Bell Staff, valet parking, including their reservations and sales team made my, and our experience memorable. Gracias!

Recently returned from this Marriott where we stayed prior to a cruise to Cuba. Convenient location with amazing ocean front views from a superb 34th floor corner room and the 36th Floor Concierge Lounge, and a very Professional, friendly and attentive staff, especially Ms Aashita who was exceptionally helpful and accommodating when visiting the Concierge Lounge. Thanks for all the efforts to help make my travel more efficient, convenient and enjoyable! Dave H

I had my credit card stolen a week before the trip so my mother made me an authorized user on hers. The woman at the front desk was so unhelpful and plain mean. We had to ask for the manager. I ended up just changing my booking through Travelocity, what I mentioned to the the first lady I tried checking in with. A simple phone call to Visa could have avoided this 4 hour check in process. Then they closed the floor the pool and everything else is on for an event. Try telling that to your 6 and 7 year old that literally just came down from NY w snow in our yard that they can't swim. The manager and concierge were helpful. The room was clean and the bathroom was nice. The elevators spend half your time I'm them, btw waiting and riding.

As a Gold member, there was no specific area for checkin. Only one person in line for check in yet i waited 15 min for checkin, despite asking if there were other staff available (only 2 at front desk). 15 min wait for elevator and arrived at room to find that it had not been cleaned after the last guest! So i waited another 10 min for an elevator to go down and alert the front desk. They also closed the pool area in mid afternoon for a private function- unacceptable for hotel guests, all of whom oay a resort fee to access this area. I ended up deciding not to stay at this hotel and walked 4 minutes across the bridge to the W Miami for a wonderful, attentive, customer service oriented stay
