Reviews for JW Marriott Marquis Miami
My son participated in music camp at University of Miami for two weeks last summer. When choosing our hotel, we considered many factors (cost, comfort, fun, convenience). Fun won the day. The hotel was further away from the university than other choices, but the amenities on the 19th floor captured my son's attention. The luxury and comfort drew mine. We are happy we made the choice. The staff was kind. Especially the staff on the 19th floor, where we spent most of our time; the concierge, Mr. Andres Meneses, who enthusiastically took care of our many needs, and then-some, during our stay; and the sales staff who made our extended stay possible. The room was amazing. We enjoyed our floor-to-ceiling windows over the bay in our large comfortable room. My son ate his room service cheeseburger (reasonably affordable) and I ate my Whole Foods salad (found next door!) while enjoying our expansive views all the way to the ocean! We spent our weekends exploring downtown took our first Uber trips to the university. Not a bad way to spend two precious school vacation weeks! We plan on doing it again this summer!

We stayed at the JW one night as a family prior to departing on a cruise. The hotel is the perfect kick off for any vacation. The staff and property are as perfect as you can wish for a hotel. If you can, get a room looking over the Bay, you can watch Manatee and Dolphins from your window.

Needs a total refurbishment. We were very disappointed at how tired the room and lobby was. We were up graded to a big suite but it was quite shabby. The pool are was also very Disappointing. The Club Lounge was nice with good views but the breakfast was very limited. In the evening we were very surprised to have an honour Bar where you are charged for Wines and spirits! The snacks also were very limited and boring! They seriously need to upgrade this hotel.
The hotel is so good with many fun activities to do in the hotel such as: watching movie in a small cinema theater, play a virtual bowling game or workout in the gym. The room is super big and fancy. The food is so good too. This will be the best place for your family when you get to Miami
I was in Miami for the Miami Book Fair, where I was reading from my new memoir, "Blue Money". Used all my remaining Marriott points to get a room here. At first they wanted to give me a room with a view of the city alone. I told the young man at the desk that I was using all my points and therefore wanted a memorable view of Biscayne Bay--and I got it. Fabulous! Looked out on the water all the way to the horizon on a high floor that made me feel like an important writer! So silly but so gratifying too to be in that big room with all the little comforts and luxuries that I think set the Marriott in particular apart from the other chains. Just a little bit more thorough when it comes to accommodating travelers' needs. Just a tad more thoughtful. I love Best Westerns on the Pacific Coast, but I love best Marriotts everywhere. My only caveat is that it was hard to retrieve my car in a timely fashion--downtown Miami is congested just like most big cities.
