Stayed over for a night prior to cruise. Spacious room and bath, clean, good service. Marriott App didn’t work for service request but housekeeping was quick to send extra set after a phone call. Short walk to nice restaurants and right opposite Whole Food. We can see the cruise ship port from the rooftop pool; nice heated pool.

We had a suite on the 25th floor overlooking the water and city view. Very clean and nice. Was a nice peaceful relaxing weekend before the cruise. The amenities are wonderful with a hot tub, swimming pool, bowling, pool table, air hockey, fooseball and much more. We had a car but decided due to parking a quick uber to Southbeach was better for an evening of bars and excitement. During the day we could walk to the mall and quick eats. Very classy place.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. First, my check in was supposed to be at 4 and my room wasn’t ready until 5. Second, the housekeeping kept forgetting things when they cleaned; towels, bath mats, bottles of water etc. and it was always a different missing item every night. Third, someone tried to get into my room to bring me ice that I never ordered. I had the security bolt on the door otherwise they would have walked in on me naked. The cherry on the top was my phone was stolen at the front of their valet. I realized it was missing after 2 minutes and quickly returned and reported it. The security supervisor said he would get back to me within 24 hours and I didn’t hear anything for 3 days, and this was after I sent email correspondence and called twice to follow up. They said they reviewed the video footage and there was no evidence of me dropping the phone/someone picking it up or someone taking it off me. Yet somehow my phone is still missing and no one could figure anything out and the event literally happened in less than 5 mins! They had nearly 15 staff plus police officers standing around that very area and not one person saw anything. I find that hard to believe so either the staff are corrupt and covering for each other or they’re completely incompetent. I was at this hotel for a conference for work so I’m going to be reporting this to my company (which Marriott has a corporate travel contract with) and to the conference organizers as well. The response from the hotel has been so weak and disappointing. One would think that a 4 star establishment would have their staff and security together. Better to take your money and stay elsewhere or risk having a poor experience and your belongings stolen.

Our flight was cancelled last minute due to weather .We were able to get a room at The JW . Overall, I was impressed with everything. The bed was comfortable, the bath towels soft and absorbent, the room very clean, the View was amazing. We had bay view. I would like to thank Andres , Concierge for securing our dining reservations and Nestor, front desk. Both gentlemen were informative, pleasant and courteous.

During my stay at this hotel on the 37th floor, an alarm went off at 5:40 a.m. directing us to evacuate and avoid the elevators. After leaving my room and joining others in the hallway making their way toward the stairwell, we encountered a maintenance person. We believed he was telling us not to go down the stairs, but his English was broken. One person used her cell phone to call the front desk to ask what we were supposed to do--"Is this an emergency?" The front desk staff person asked if she could "call us back." We later learned it was a false alarm, but the instructions from staff were unaligned and unacceptable. I spoke to a manager later that morning, who told me that someone on his senior staff would call me back to explain the staff's plan for an emergency. I never received a call back, and the staff never emailed or contacted the impacted guests to let them know what happened or to apologize for the confusion. I would never feel safe staying in this hotel again. If there was actually a fire or emergency, I can't imagine what the result would have been. From Floor 37, I would not want to find out. Aside from this issue, when I arrived at 4:45 p.m. after a long drive to Miami, my room was not available. When I returned for check in after 9:15 p.m., there was a long line of others who had also attempted to check in late afternoon without success. Management is not equipped to run this hotel.
