Mandarin Oriental, Miami in Miami, Florida

There's an unmistakable air of Magic City in the five-star design of Mandarin Oriental Miami. Palm-shaded cabanas are just as glamorous as they are in South Beach, but with the added allure of seclusion granted by a private beach club on tony Brickell Key. Three floors of the resort are dedicated to Mandarin Oriental’s signature spa treatments, and it’s also home to the only North American location of Chinese luxury brand Shanghai Tang.

Pity the souls arriving to work in the skyscrapers across the water – your office is a hammock, and an infinity-edge swimming pool is just a few strides away. Order a pre-lunch mojito. In the afternoon, strut down boutique-lined Lincoln Road like it's your runway. Listen to Cuban jazz in the balmy night air as neon lights glint off Biscayne Bay.

The hotel stay was excellent. Great location and amenities. Restaurants were superb as well. Highly recommend this property for those that are staying in Miami. The location is approximately 20 minutes from South Beach and is right across the water from the downtown district.

The view, the spa, the service, the restaurants, the quality of food, the amenities were absolutely amazing! I would definitely stay here again. It is also walking distance to some of the other delicious cafes and restaurants.

If there is one drawback to the Mandarin, its the slight inconvenience that some of the Uber drivers don't know where the entrance to the hotel is on Brickell Key. Other than that, the Mandarin anchors that man-made island. How pleasant is it to have views of water, city skyline and more water around you. The service is prompt, excellent and attentive and if you're looking for a peaceful stay in Downtown, the Mandarin should be a great choice. Morning walks around the Key offer great opportunities to watch sunrise and cruise ships parked across the bay. The pool isn't huge, but offers great vistas of Miami and the Bay. Pool side service is excellent and the food looks fantastic. The glistening lobby is a wonderful meeting spot and the lobby bar gets quite a crowd. The only drawback is the smallish gym, but it has all of the equipment you may need. Its not the gym at the W Hotel or Equinox, but if you want a quick decent workout then a quick dip in the pool, this should work out for you. The concierge and everyone at the MO just make your stay so very comfortable and homey.

Staff: 98% friendly. Room: Balcony, Bay view. Excellent. clean and comfy. shower had minor mechanical issues. Pool Bar: nice. Staff was on point, however, they appeared to be overwhelmed when busy on Saturday. Food: Excellent. quality and portions on point Drinks: on menu=to spec. jack rocks=over pour with intent. Room Service. Excellent. above and beyond with our specific, extra need. Valet: Excellent. Spa: Average Location: Excellent for our trip. No newspaper delivered. why ask? They appeared to be a bit punchy about the utilization of Amex Platinum Fine Hotels Package.
