Mandarin Oriental, Miami in Miami, Florida

There's an unmistakable air of Magic City in the five-star design of Mandarin Oriental Miami. Palm-shaded cabanas are just as glamorous as they are in South Beach, but with the added allure of seclusion granted by a private beach club on tony Brickell Key. Three floors of the resort are dedicated to Mandarin Oriental’s signature spa treatments, and it’s also home to the only North American location of Chinese luxury brand Shanghai Tang.

Pity the souls arriving to work in the skyscrapers across the water – your office is a hammock, and an infinity-edge swimming pool is just a few strides away. Order a pre-lunch mojito. In the afternoon, strut down boutique-lined Lincoln Road like it's your runway. Listen to Cuban jazz in the balmy night air as neon lights glint off Biscayne Bay.

Stayed here over Christmas and had a wonderful time, the Mandarin Oriental brand ticks so many boxes for us, great restaurants, great food, superb room with a balcony sharing a sea and city view (Mandarin executive room, 7th floor). The bar near reception had lovely tapas style snacks and live music, 2 guitarists whom were just brilliant. Concierge were very helpful and arranged our trips out, restaurant bookings and transport requirements. The man made beach is superb, as there is no shallow slope in/out of the water (its a wall) the dolphins and manatee's swim right up to the edge, its a sandy beach with great service for food and drinks, having cocktails whilst the sun went down was lovely. Its located in Brickel key which has loads of great restaurants, having said that the food in the hotel was very good. I'd definitely stay here if/when Im back in Miami.

Stayed at the MO about five years ago and we were impressed. We still find it a fantastic hotel, with an extremely comfortable bed. I was most impressed with the staff. I lost my watch at the pool area and didn't realize it until late evening. They searched through towels and then the whole pool area by flashlight and found it and returned it. Great Peruvian restaurant in the hotel and lots of other restaurants within easy walking distance.

Having stayed here several times, I would say there are a lot of hotels in Miami, but for an all-round, top notch experience, nothing beats the Mandarin Oriental. The hotel, itself, is quiet elegance, with impeccable warm service. The MO is its own little world on Brickell Key, overlooking Biscayne Bay. For this stay, I was en route to Cuba. While I usually get a suite with a terrace, this time I opted for a deluxe room with patio, which was spacious and just as well appointed as the large suites. The hotel is a faster jump to the airport than South Beach, and the rate was cheaper than the airport hotels. You could easily spend a couple of days on the hotel grounds and never leave the premises, which many people do. The restaurants have superb seafood and service. The waterside dining area was closed during the cool weather, but it is a Miami hotspot. For those who want to explore the rest of Miami, cab and car service is in premises. The spa is world class, with treatments to match. Even the collection of boutiques can tempt the most jaded shopper. Perfect way to de-stress!

We received an upgrade room with beautiful balcony and view to the skyline Miami downtown. The quality of food (breakfast and bar) was amazing - first class!!! Ok - it's a bit expensive, but for some special days we recommend hardly to do!

We stayed in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel for 3 nights prior to our Christmas cruise. Brickell Key is a very nice part of Miami, the hotel is very classy the staff are wonderful and very helpful. Right outside of the hotel you are able to pick up a free tram which takes you various parts of Miami. The hotel has everything you need a pool, spa, gym, private beach and 2 restaurants, so although the hotel is not cheap, if has all the facilities We booked the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis at a cost of approx. Ā£600 per night and had the buffet breakfast in the morning. When we checked out we were charged extra for the buffet breakfast, only about $5 each per day, but after paying so much for the room, we thought this was petty. Apart from that the hotel is superb, the food in the restaurants was excellent. We intend to return very soon.
