Mandarin Oriental, Miami in Miami, Florida

There's an unmistakable air of Magic City in the five-star design of Mandarin Oriental Miami. Palm-shaded cabanas are just as glamorous as they are in South Beach, but with the added allure of seclusion granted by a private beach club on tony Brickell Key. Three floors of the resort are dedicated to Mandarin Oriental’s signature spa treatments, and it’s also home to the only North American location of Chinese luxury brand Shanghai Tang.

Pity the souls arriving to work in the skyscrapers across the water – your office is a hammock, and an infinity-edge swimming pool is just a few strides away. Order a pre-lunch mojito. In the afternoon, strut down boutique-lined Lincoln Road like it's your runway. Listen to Cuban jazz in the balmy night air as neon lights glint off Biscayne Bay.

Not a 5 start hotel!!! We reserved a bay view room. After check-in we went up to the room, the first thing that we noticed was the carpet in the hallways had stains. When we got into the room, the balcony had not chairs and was very narrow. I called down to the front desk and explained that we wanted to have a balcony that we could use. We were told that they had a room, but it had to be checked by a housekeeping supervisor. Two hours later, we were told that the new room was available. The room had a bay view (because the hotel is surrounded by water), but it had more of a city view (skyline view). As we were picking up our car after check-out, I noticed a small box on the ground at the valet. On further inspection, it was a condom box that had been there a while (it was wet from the rain and had been stepped on or run over. I mentioned to the valets that I thought it was unusual to see that at the Mandarin Oriental. They just ignored it…. Not a 5 star hotel!!!

I enjoyed my stay in Mandarin Miami with great views of water, private beach and downtown. The quality of room particularly the bathroom is awesome. I certainly recommend Mandarin and its first on my list for a visit with family. The front desk staff are very friendly and ensure they meet client requirements.

The Mandarin in Miami is an exceptional hotel. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the location is near perfect. It does not have the hustle and bustle/partying of South Beach, and therefore was perfect for us. The property is immaculately maintain. The staff was excellent, From the front desk staff, to the poolside staff and the restaurant staff. We were pleasantly surprised by the entertainment offerings in the evening at the hotel bar. On One night,a flamenco type acoustic Spanish guitarist played beautiful music. The second night was a jazz duo on piano and trumpet. The bar staff was exceptional as well. Overall we had one of the best times over a four day weekend.Would highly recommend!!

Very Nice Hotel. Pool area is amazing its because of the pool that I would come back. Little pricey probably not the best value for the dollar but all and all a wonderful stay. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. I had a chance to enjoy dinner at Lar Mar restaurant the food was very good, make sure you get there a little early so you can sit on the patio and enjoy the view of the city at night. I also had a chance to enjoy the spa while there again a little pricy but very nice. Overall a wonderful stay

My wife and I are visiting South Florida from the UK and we started our trip with four nights at the Mandarin Oriental. We booked a bay view junior suite on a one more night rate, as we are registered with the Mandarin reward programme “Fans of MO” this entitled us to free extras, we chose the fantastic breakfast. The room was amazing, the view was breathtaking, the service was exceptional, the property is outstanding and Brickell Key is an oasis in the city. If you go to Miami with all the choices of Hotels, stay at the Mandarin and you will see why people like me write reviews like this.
