This was our second time staying here for my wife and I, and, like the first time, this hotel did not disappoint. From the moment you first get to the front drive, the staff is friendly and wanting to please. And when you first walk into the hotel, the lobby is what a luxury hotel lobby should look like, drawing your eyes to all of the exquisite detail. We stayed here for my mom's birthday, and, of course, they never fail to remember special occasions at the Ritz and so they made her a special cake, with her name on it. She was blown away that they remembered. And with a view out of our rooms of the Miami skyline, she had a birthday she will never forget. (Our son was also quite enamored with the stuffed Ritz lion that the bellman gave him, so he will never forget his stay either :) ). We also had a slight view of Biscayne Bay if we peeked over the balcony just a tad. The rooms are nice and plush, as well, with great furnishings and the amazing beds that the Ritz seems to have in all of their hotels. The pool area is absolutely amazing, and the pool is heated to a comfortable temperature year-round. So, if you're worrying about all of those cool days and nights Miami has been having lately, and think you might not be able to go in the pool, you might want to re-think that. The pool was warm, even in December. The location of the hotel is great, too, as it's just a short walk to Biscayne Bay and some great waterfront restaurants. And, the staff further added to the enjoyment of our stay by letting us get a late check-out for no extra charge, just so my mom could enjoy the hotel a little longer. If this Ritz continues to operate the way they are, they're going to have many happy guests for years to come. Thank you for making my mom's birthday a memorable one.

My partner and I stayed here after being rerouted through Miami when ice was plaguing DFW. I literally made the reservation at TPA a few hours before we arrived on New Year's Eve. At the hotel we were greeted by the wonderful Yarisa (spelling). We told her our predicament: bags checked through back to London, no toiletries, rerouted, unintended stay. She was great, ordered additional toiletries sent up to our room, and gave us a late checkout the next day as our flight back home wasn't until the evening. Having never spent any real time in Miami other than in the airport, we had no idea where to go and what to do and it was only two hours until midnight. We decided to have a drink at the lobby bar where we were served a perfect vodka martini, cold and dry. Our server was professional and courteous. We decided given the time that we should just head up to our room and order room service, watch the fireworks from our balcony. Room service arrived just before midnight. Our helpful server set up the table and opened the bottle of wine. She was great. My husband and I watched the fireworks outside with a glass in hand. We had expected to bring in the new year with bubbly over the Atlantic as we usually do, but what a great curve ball to be thrown. The next day we hunted down a couple of swimsuits given that ours were at MIA, and headed to the pool. Great music, fun vibe, sunny day and a perfectly heated pool that wasn't overly chlorinated. The woman who took our drink order that afternoon was friendly and professional as was the young gentleman who set up our umbrella. We had a late lunch at the pool bar before heading back up to our room to shower before we left for the airport. Is this hotel a bit dated? Yes. Could it benefit from a refurbishment? Yes. But is it pleasantly dated? Yes. Is its old world charm, well, charming? Yes. In a few years, this might not be the case, but for now, the excellent customer service we received helped to give this hotel an Excellent rating. That and the extremely comfortable bed.

Get a room with a view of the water and you'll love the sights. As expected from any Ritz Carlton, the service was impeccable, from the valet parking your car to housekeepers, very top notch. When I pulled my rental car up I gave my name to the valet, then I was greeted by name by the doorman, then the front desk associate. Room was well appointed, plenty of towels, Nespresso coffee maker stocked and half and half available instead of the powered stuff. Pool area was nice, nothing spectacular, but still nice. Staff at the pool bar very attentive and service oriented. Can't miss staying here.

Stayed for 3 nights on business and had some down time to enjoy the hotel and spa area. This hotel is nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The area is not as lively as being in Miami Beach, but the hotel itself is excellent. The spa area is nice, but a unique set up with the lounge contained within the locker room area. During my first day I used the spa contained within the locker room after a workout going back and forth from the steam room to the dry sauna, with quick rinses in the shower to cool down. I was naked the whole time using just a small towel to sit on. As I was moving between the steam room and shower, a female masseuse was meeting a guest sitting in the lounge area for his massage. She was very composed and professional. She said hello as I passed though back to the showers. This was not a big deal to me because nudity, in even mixed areas, is common internationally. It was a bit unusual for the US. If this would both you, best to keep a towel on throughout the locker room. I did get a massage on my final day. It was great. One of the best massages I’ve ever had, and I highly recommend it.

Beautiful hotel. Ate there for dinner. It was an $18 hamburger but it was quality, fresh ground at the hotel. It was quality. The staff was friendly and the room was perfect. Loved the heated pool. No hot tub, but the pool was large and lots of chairs.
