The crown jewels of Trump National Doral Miami are its golf courses, 90 holes of PGA-worthy turf that include The Blue Monster, Greg Norman’s Great White and Raymond Floyd’s gold course. Trump acquired the Doral property in 2012 and has since given it a $250 million facelift. Rooms were renovated in a warm neutral palette with mahogany and gold leaf Spanish Revival details, and luxe cabanas flank the new Royal Palm Pool. There are 800 acres and almost as many rooms at Trump National Doral, making the resort a city in itself.

We stayed at Trump National Doral Miami from December 11–15, and our experience was absolutely outstanding. The Christmas trees and holiday décor throughout the property were beautiful and created such a warm, festive atmosphere. The grounds are immaculate, perfect for walking and enjoying the scenery. A special thank-you to Stephanie, our hotel attaché, whose service and coordination were exceptional. She truly elevated our stay with her attentiveness and professionalism. Jorge, the attaché manager, also reached out personally, which made us feel incredibly welcomed. The Spa Suites were spacious and perfect for our family. We had both a two bedroom suite and a single bedroom suite. The living room and dining room area of the suite made for a great spot to relax and play games at night while our granddaughter slept. The golf course views were amazing and we enjoyed watching people finishing their rounds. My husband and sons played multiple courses and enjoyed them very much. The spa amenities that you have access to by staying in the Spa Suites were wonderful, offering a relaxing and luxurious experience. Our favorite dinner at BLT Steakhouse was excellent, with outstanding service from Walter. Traveling with our granddaughter, we appreciated the thoughtful family-friendly touches—crib, highchair, baby bath, and diaper genie—which made everything so easy. The pool staff were fantastic, the food was great, and every employee we encountered stopped to say hello and ask about our stay. Even when we were caught in an unexpected rain shower one evening, a covered shuttle quickly brought us back to our room—a perfect example of the resort’s attention to detail. This resort exceeded every expectation. Incredible service, beautiful property, and a truly memorable stay. We recommend it without hesitation and can’t wait to return.

I was at Trump national for a junior golf tournament. While, I did not stay at the hotel, we ate breakfast here every morning and lunch. Spending close to $700 alone on food (Denise our server was wonderful). I very much enjoyed our time at the property and mentioned to my husband we should come back here for a golf vacation as all 4 of my family members play golf. On the last day of the tournament I needed a cart for medical reasons. My son got the cart for me and was shocked at the price they told him- $80 but didn’t ask questions since he knew I needed it. This is unheard of at junior tournaments. The most I have ever paid is $40 (even at 5 star resorts and most carts are $30) one dad said he heard in the golf shop “we sold out of carts at $50 so charge them $80”. This just ruined our experience here and has definitely made it where I don’t want to come back here- it is the principle of the matter and has left a bad taste. Also an automatic gratuity is added to all food purchases. I don’t mind this, but I do mind it when they aren’t upfront about it and give you a receipt that’s not itemized showing a tip was added and then having a line for tip on your bill. This was done in the quick serve restaurant where they hand you your pre made food. It is just disingenuous to do that. In the sit down restaurants, they provided an itemized receipt and was surprised they only added 18% gratuity- thought it should be 20% I did add more too for this as I felt it wasn’t enough when being waited on especially with how great our server Denise was.

Played Red Tiger course. Course is in good shape except tons of divots on fairway and greens. Pro shop staff would not even look at you and were rude and dismissive. For what you pay for a round here I would expect better.

We stayed at the Marriott next door, but it has an agreement with Trump National that its guests can use the facilities. We were happy to do that, as I had enjoyed the Trump International in New York. Next time, I think we may stay at Trump Doral, even though we are not golfers. The standards were what I expected...top of the line. Well kept, up-scale. Polite, friendly, well-instructed staff. Elegant but not pompous. The gingerbread golf cart was cute and well done -- must have been a lot of work; although, with apologies to DJT, I still like gingerbread houses. Otherwise, the decorations are in a less-is-more, elegant style, and, unlike the majority of hotels on this trip, the furniture is comfortable. I cannot tell you if the beds are too firm, although I found them to be so in another Trump property. I happened across the resort manager. He is the kind of staff member who does credit to the resort's owners. He did recommend the BLT Prime for lunch -- sorry, no Trump meatloaf, for those interested, but he suggested that the Trump Burger is good. Service was impeccable. For any who don't know, BLT is an upscale "chain" with more than a half dozen locations...nine, is it? My only suggestion would be the Trump blanc de blanc in splits...just saying. I suppose they don't make enough of it. We did visit the Marketplace cafe...nice "take out" type place if you just want something quick such as fruit or a salad, sandwich etc. We also went into the golf shops -- your choice, Trump branded or Blue Monster branded. I cannot tell you about the villas themselves. The pools seemed OK...not huge but nice enough. I peeked into a few of the ballrooms. I like the Crystal Ballroom. I like Trump properties for the service and atmosphere so, even though we aren't golfers, we would stay here.

For the most part the resort is great, but coming down specifically to play golf for the 2nd year in a row with a group of 24 guys, it was extremely disappointing that the driving range is closed, with the only option to hit into a net. For guys coming from up NYC who haven't played golf in a few months, there was really no way to warm up.
