Reviews for The Gray
We stayed 1 night on points across the way and 2 nights here as part of a La Scala package. We almost chose a different property based on some of the reviews here -- what a mistake that would have been! Lobby and rooms are small, but no different than any of the 3 properties we've stayed at around the Duomo. Location is obviously fantastic. Of the boutique hotels we've stayed in throughout Italy, room size was pretty much expected - small, but enough room to move around and laid out in a comfortable manner -- never felt cramped. The hotel itself has a very well appointed interior and the rooms have a very clean and appealing look to them. Service was solid. We had 2 nights of excellent sleep and loved using the room as a jumping off point between hopping on the metro at the Duomo, shopping the quadrilateral, and of course La Scala. No question that we would stay here again!

Boutique hotel in downtown Milano. Only few rooms. Rooms not too big (bug eho needs a big room in Milan). Breakfast excellent: maybe not quantity but definitively quality. Staff from reception to concierge to breakfaststaff just amazing: they really give you the feeling you're their most important client. I know where I'll stay next time......

We stayed at The Gray last weekend, and I really coulnd't ask for a better hotel! It wasn't our first time at Milan, but this time I wanted something near the city centre, and this hotel is literally two steps away from the Duomo!!! I was overwhealmed with the decoration of this hotel, super chic and minimal, I loved every single detail. The staff guys were so kind with us everytime we needed help, they recommended us restaurants, museums and even where to shop, basically they were like our touristic guides. Don't worry if you don't speak italian since they speak english, french, a bit of russian, and there is a spanish guy too! All of them very nice and helpfull. And the room was to die for, we have actually booked a classic room, but they asked us if we wanted to upgrade our room for an extra charge, so we gave it a try and went with them to see the room, and since the moment I entered the room I was shocked, it was literally a dream and with the view directly to the gallery!!! Can't wait to go back already, see you this summer !! Totally recommended

The rooms, at 12 sq.m (?) must be the smallest in Milan. Ridiculously small - even for one person. The hotel has a good location near Piazza Duomo. However, many better options nearby at the same price. The hotel charges EUR 36.00 for a simple breakfast - tea & croissant! When complaining they simply say this is what you must pay! I will for sure never return. If you have to stay here - at least avoid the breakfast! Typical clueless hotel!

It is not at any standard of a 5-star hotel. Rooms were very small and even when we asked for a bigger one they told us it cost more. However, the hotel is not that cheap. I am giving 2 stars; one for the great location and one for forgetting our wallet in the safe box after checkout and we got it back. :)
