We paid about 500 euros a night - we got a tiny little room, the bathroom had a tub shower with no shower wall or curtains. A no frills kind of place in the guise of a boutique hotel. Noisy rooms. No gym ot spa, i dont know how they have a five star rating. However the location is really good - right next to the duomo - its about the only good thing this place has going for it.

We stayed at the Gray and liked it a lot - the place was well located but the rooms were tiny. We actually upgraded our room and had our son get the standard room and his room seemed bigger than ours. Room was clean and nice but first room they showed us definitely smelled of smoke so they moved us. They denied the smell but it was obviously smelly.

This is a superb hotel. I have stayed at The Gray twice for business. It has a fantastic location a few steps from the Duomo and a range of shops and restaurants. Nonetheless, the hotel itself is very quiet - with almost no noise from the surrounding streets. The staff were warm and attentive and more than happy to make recommendations for dinner and respond to my requests. On both occasions, my rooms were stylish, comfortable and immaculately finished. With just 20 rooms, the hotel manages to combine a high standard of service with an intimate atmosphere. I shall certainly be returning.
