I've stayed at this hotel on business a number of times. It is in a very central location. It is situated steps from the Republica metro station (takes you directly to the center of town (Via Montanapleone - steps from the Duomo). The hotel is also an easy walk from Corso Como and the Central train station. The rooms are quite comfortable. I would not recommend staying in any of the rooms that face the inner courtyard if you tend to sleep early. You can definitely hear the music from the bar/club on Fri and Sat nights. The fitness facilities and the pool is a luxury. It is a fantastic space overlooking the city of milan. It's a nice place to unwind.

A five days, four nights trip in Milan has been brought to perfection thanks to this fine establishment. From the very first impression at the entrance, driving to the front court with my own car, to the lobby, reception and onward, all has been just perfect. From staff, services, room and all amenities, I can only say "wow, this is high class in Italy". It's not your usual hotel around the corner, this is a Grand Hotel of classy golden ages, brought into the 21st Century with all its luxury. I simply loved staying here. On Friday we took a ride outside of Milan and driving back to the hotel, exhausted from a long day trip, when I approached the building in the late evening hours, once spotted the letters of the name at the higher wall... wow, I instinctively said to me "It's good to be home"...

The Principe is part of the Dorcester collection and for good reason. It is a luxury 5 star hotel, set in a historic and iconic building. The service is really of the superior level you only experience in the top hotels of the world. The staff are all excellent. The decoration of the interiors of both public spaces and rooms is superior and with a lot of class. It is one of those places where you sink knee-deep in the carpets of the corridors. The halls are perfumed with sweet, delicate scents, a nice difference with the stale smell of decaying poly-uretane of rotting, thinned-out carpets of so many business hotels. The walls all have mural paintings and other intricate and lavish decoration, no expense spared. It reminds me of those renaissance palaces around lake Como and Maggiore or those on the Borromean Islands. Pure style and high society class but also modern and up-to-date, not stuffy. Breakfast is of course amazing. They have a very nice lounge and restaurant and a very trendy and exclusive bar. The fitness on the top floor towers over the city and has an amazing view of down-town and of the Alps. It also has a Spa and great pool on the roof and also a terrace at the too.

Really great hotel, very traditional but very well kept. I had a great Premier Room, it had a modern bathroom with separate bath tub. Very helpful excellent staff and an excellent breakfast. Great location right next to the Metro, I will be staying here again

This is a really lovely hotel which, as others have testified, clearly ranks service very highly. We were travelling with our young daughter and staff were nothing but welcoming, friendly and helpful at all times. We travelled over Easter weekend and she received not one, not two, but three Easter gifts from staff! We opted for a deluxe room and were very happy with our choice. It was spacious and comfortable and the separate hallway/dressing area provided a handy space to park the (sturdy, great sized) cot and a door to the bedroom meant we were able to read and watch television after our daughter had gone to bed. We ate in the Acanto restaurant twice and service was brilliant and the food was very good. It's not cheap, but kids up to 5 eat free, which helped! Great breakfast with a varied choice and additional options from the menu. We used the pool every day, and though it probably wouldn't offer the most tranquil space if you were solo or as a couple, or at least not in the period we were there, all the children (mostly teenagers) we saw in the pool area were relatively quiet and very well behaved. Gym was also very good for a quick workout with a view. We liked the location for being out of the centre but still very convenient. Sure, it's not the most picturesque scenery in Milan but absolutely fine and only a 15min walk or metro, bus or tram on your doorstep and of course, there's the complementary limo service. There were restaurants and a lovely park around the corner. The taxi from Linate airport was around 17 euro. The only caveats I'd highlight are that the rooms are dark - this is not the hotel to opt for if you favour light, minimalist spaces, I've never seen such voluminous curtains! Neither is it a hotel where you should casually dip into the mini bar unless you know what you're letting yourself in for (9 Euro for a bottle of water). But there's complementary water at turn-down service in the evening and a brilliant supermarket very close by for all your necessities, so needn't be an issue. We requested a kettle and kept it for the duration of our stay, ditto the iron. Overall, we'd stay here again. Only reason I mark it down is that we were disturbed by the house music pumping from the Melia hotel next door. In fairness we never raised it with reception and if we stayed again I'd just ask to stay on the other side of the hotel.
