Luxury next door to the Duomo

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we could sense that this was on the upper end of a 4-star experience. From the concierge service to the scale and luxury of the rooms, we felt ‘on holiday’ amidst a busy city-break. Complimentary water was a friendly touch, in an expensive city. We got room service one evening and it was very delicious but as expensive as you can imagine for a 4-star hotel. The mini bar (and hotel bar) prices were also incredibly expensive, but the available options were fair if you are willing to pay for the convenience. We had our room made up during our stay and were very happy to walk back in to a lovely clean ‘like new’ room.

Beautiful hotel and great location, some staff rude

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The pros of this hotel are the location, a quick drive from the train station, and literally a three minute walk to the Duomo and Galleria! We were able to easily walk to the main iconic sites of Milan, ie the Opera House, Sforza Castle, the Brera District. The hotel itself is beautiful and very well appointed, and the breakfast was more than satisfying with many options. They were also a few options that you could order with no charge, such as pancakes and waffles. In terms of the negative: We worked through travel agent who booked us two rooms at the Rosa Grand Milano, as a family of five. Our agent sent us a voucher showing that we were booked for a deluxe room with a king size bed, as well as a family room that had two queen (double beds) in a larger room to accommodate our three teens. Upon check in, we quickly left our items in the rooms to head to a scheduled tour, then straight to a pasta making class /dinner. However, upon our check-in, I noticed that the room for our kids was not what we had a voucher for, instead it was the same exact Deluxe room as ours with the king bed, but instead just had an additional twin bed placed at the foot of the king. As you can imagine, it was quite cramped, as well as not being what we had told me we were booked for. The next morning, I politely inquired to our same check-in girl we had had on the first day, Sara ( tall, brown hair and glasses), and she indeed did confirm that our voucher showed something different than the reservation that had been made by the travel agent. And most importantly that there was a cost difference of about €200 between the two different rooms. Very politely I explained that I would love to have some type of proof of what was booked to them, and that I had no issue with the hotel, and I did NOT expect them to move the kids, nor provide a refund. I simply wanted a copy of the reservation from their end, so that once home, I could address with the travel agent. She put me in touch with a manager, but I had yet to receive any type of copy of the reservation. So as I checked out, I once again inquired with Sara, who then spoke to the other three girls in the Reception/ check in area, but in Italian, to which they all looked at me and laughed. It would be important for Sara to note as the first impression and “face” to your hotel, that understanding every spoken language is not as important as one being able to read body language, which speaks volumes. She was extremely rude. It was obvious that she was talking about me, which was frustrating as I had never once raised my voice, nor spoken rudely to any of them when inquiring about the situation. So perhaps Sara would benefit from additional customer service training!

They bring it together perfectly!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

As a CEO I know how hard it is to bring all the elements of an experience together night after night for very discerning clientele, my wife and I included. This hotel is a model that everyone should take note and borrow from. The rooms were perfect, every single staff member ensure our best experience from breakfast to our dinner food and staff - oh did I mention the location is ideally located within walking distance of the best Milan!

Do Not Trust Rosa Grand Hotel – Theft and Negligence

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Theft at Rosa Grand Hotel – Management Ignored the Case for Over a Month I am writing this review to warn all travelers about a very serious incident at Rosa Grand Hotel. Our personal belongings were stolen from the hotel storage room when we were leaving the property. The hotel has CCTV security cameras, and the incident was recorded. Despite this, it has now been more than one month, and the hotel has provided: • No compensation • No explanation • No timeline for resolution • No responsibility toward the guest When we left, we were only sent an insurance reference number via Gmail, and since then, no real action has been taken. This is not a minor inconvenience — this is a major security failure. A hotel that cannot protect guests’ belongings and then ignores them afterward cannot be trusted. Until this case is resolved and compensation is paid, I will continue to share this experience publicly so that other travelers can make an informed decision. Do not leave valuables at this hotel.
