This hotel says non smoking but we were checked into a smoking room (it had an ashtray in it). The rooms are great and location excellent but the service is appalling. The check in (late at night) resulted in an argument and clear lies being told to us about the rooms. No apology or follow up was ever made. The hotel does not seem to know what market it wants to attract - everyone it seems. Its not that cheap (we paid approx 300 Euros for Executive room). It has sporting teams (nothing wrong with that). Then they have appealed to the middle eastern market and have a prayer room (note my partner is muslim and couldn't understand the hotel either). There were lots of families with young children and some noise could be heard in the room. There is no attention to detail on small items - like a broken small toaster for breakfast for up to approx 100 people at any one time. So if you can put up with bad service then its a great location and the rooms are good (that i saw anyhow). The comment I made on checkout stands - the General Manager is not doing their job correctly.

The Starhotels Rosa Grand is in a perfect location for a visit to Milan. The Duomo and Galleria Emanuele are a few steps outside the door. Taxis stop right out in front, so it's an easy trip to visit Leonardo's Last Supper. We need a wheelchair accessible room, and the Rosa Grand had the perfect room for us. The only complaint is the distance to the room from the elevator, and the desk clerk warned us about it and apologized. The breakfast was very nice and well tended. We would stay here again.

The hotel was really close to the Duomo and everything that we wanted to see in Milan. Close to good restaurants. An added plus was that there was a taxi stand right in front of the hotel, and cabs can just drive up to it. This was important to us as we've stayed at other hotels where taxis cannot drop you off in front for some reason or another, and you have to walk to the hotel with all your luggage. Comfortable bed/room. Very clean. Professional staff. Decent breakfast. My only complaint was that they did not have any power converters available for guests. Most of the hotels we've stayed at overseas offered them. Not a big deal though. I would recommend this hotel.

It's my second time in this hotel. I choose it mainly for the location, it's just right behind the Duomo and is perfect for a short visit. The lobby and the entrance needs some repair and is quite busy. Usually it's full of visitors checking out or waiting for a room. The rooms are nice, very good beds and a great hairdryer! The breakfast is excellent, the gym is very good and the terrace there on the 5th floor is nice. It's expensive to park the car - 50 Euros per night!

I booked a room at this hotel for 2 nights in July. Everything was all set, the booking was confirmed, the down payment was taken from my credit card, all we had to do is arrive at the destination. When i went to the reception i provided the receptionist with my ID (which i successfully used allover Europe) and she demanded ( in a rather abrupt way) that i give her my Passport because she couldn't use my ID. After i searched for the passport and gave it to her (note that i usually don't travel with my passport while in Europe) she also demanded for the passport of my boyfriend, which again is strange because we just came from France that day any no one asked for both our IDs at the hotels. After she was pleased with the fact that we provided both our passports, we were allocated a room at the first floor. We entered the room, which was very clean and state of the art appliances, usb charge in the wall for telephones and everything. But no view...our room was in a small shaft with NO NATURAL LIGHT coming in the room....i don't think that's normal for a 4 star hotel who charges 220 eur per night... Also at our check out they insisted that we drank an extra bottle of water....i honestly just let it slide because i was fed up with their attitude towards me.
