We were looking for a place in Toronto but all rooms were over the top expensive. We were looking for someplace quaint and romantic . The hotel is clean and the beds were so comfortable. Our room looked out over a wooded area. The room doesn't have a lot of amenities but makes up with it's pleasantness and great location. The staff was pleasant and eager to please. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay near Toronto that will guarantee a good nights rest, Glenerin is the perfect resting stop. I know it'll be by choice on my next trip to Toronto.

We enjoy the lovely ravine setting, great entertainment and a very special server, David. It has become a summer ritual that we very much anticipate. However, our most recent visit will not be remembered as being our favourite. There is significant room for improvement when it comes to the menu choices, food and presentation. While we do not enjoy the huge portions that are often served in many dining establishments, we definitely appreciate a creatively presented dish of a reasonable size. The portions are tiny and I mean really tiny. My plate consisted of two 4 inch. skewers. We both laughed when it arrived. The menu has remained the same for the past three summers and without question changes and additions would be warmly welcomed. In my opinion, the food quality, quantity, presentation and service do not in any respect equate to the prices charged. Would I return - maybe, on a beautiful summer evening to listen to great music and to enjoy a glass of wine served by David.

This was our second year staying at the Glenerin Inn for our shopping get away. This is a lovely place to stay and before becoming the Inn p, was a family summer house. Rooms are small but lively and the beds are comfortable we had dinner on the patio which was lovely. Beautiful woods with a river and small waterfall. Great attention to detail and a warm and welcoming staff.

I recently spent one night at this historic inn. The stone exterior gives it a lot of character and the main lobby/sitting area is very welcoming. Upon check-in, I was informed that my room would have a king-bed and it would be in the Carriage House, which is in a separate building. I had booked a room with a queen-sized bed, so a king would be a pleasant surprise. However when I got to the room, I noticed it was not a king bed (that is ok), nor was it a queen, it was a double bed, which was disappointing. The view from my window was of the garbage waste bins, which was not what I was hoping for. I did not let front desk know about either of these concerns or ask for another room, as I was told during check-in the hotel was full. The room (307) was very small (compared to any other standard hotel room I have stayed at) and had very little room to move around. I experienced difficulty with the tv (the cable box did not seem to be working) and called front desk for assistance. I was given some simple directions to hopefully solve the problem, but they didn't work. I was then told the General Manager would come up to take a look and they didn't. I called again an hour later and still nobody came to help. It was frustrating to not have tv all night Also, I noticed when I was getting under the blankets to go to bed, there was a hole in the sheet (see picture). I didn't call and ask for a new sheet as it was late and I was tired. The bed was comfortable and I slept pretty well until a garbage truck came really early in the morning (6:30 a.m.) and was practically outside my window. I visited the spa and it was a pleasant experience. The spa is downstairs, around many turns and I was glad that Aneta from the spa took me downstairs, otherwise I might have gotten lost. When I checked out of my room I asked if I could leave my bags behind front desk and I was told that was fine. However, they were not put behind the desk or into a secure area and anyone could have taken them. I was not given a bag claim ticket. Overall I had a good stay, but found that if the front desk staff had been more friendly/helpful it would have likely made my stay a great one.

I must preface this review stating i did not stay at the Inn - as i had so many difficulties with the booking process with the front desk, i had no faith is staying to celebrate a significant anniversary. I called the hotel asking for assistance with making a reservation for July 22nd for 1 night for myself and my husband. After taking first with a woman to whom i gave all the details, she transferred me with no notice to a male colleague - to whom i had to explain everything to again. He showed next to no interest in helping other the basic, curse questions. After me trying to find out my options he said he had found another room and i could book it. No explanation of the type of room, rate, bedding or location. When i asked a number of questions, it turned out the room was off-site in the Carriage House - something that should be explained at the time of booking. As the conversation was going poorly and he sounded like he was selling a room at a Motel 6 instead of a $400 room - i asked to be transferred to the manager. She dealt with me more professionally and seemed to know more about the availability. I was told i had the very last room in the hotel. Interesting, i had also emailed the Inn from the website 2 full days prior to my call, and got an email back the afternoon i made the phone reservation telling me there were many rooms available and i had to let them know what i wanted. i emailed back immediately to say i had been told that day that i had booked the LAST room and to please clarify as i would prefer to be in the main building. No response and it has been a week. After discussing with my husband, we decided to cancel the reservation and stay somewhere else. I had not faith in this being a special stay or a special experience, and felt i was treated very off hand and almost with a dismissive attitude. I have been in the travel industry for over 23 years. I will not recommend or stay at the Glen Erin Inn until i hear they have trained their staff on what customer service actually is. It is a shame, as i was looking forward to that weekend at the Inn.
