Celebrated for their majestic beauty, Quebec(TM)s Laurentian Mountains provide a stunning backdrop for Hotel Quintessence. Tucked into the foot on Mont Tremblant, northwest of Montréal, this Old World boutique hotel was declared a oegem” in November 2004 by Town & Country. Decadently spacious suites, all with French doors that open onto private balconies or terraces, feature magnificent views of Lake Tremblant. Savor traditional specialties at Restaurant la Quintessence, sip a fine vintage in a secluded wine cellar turret and spoil yourselves with a massage at Spa Sans Sabots.

We planned anniversary trip and chose this hotel based on the amenities and standards advertised. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing from the moment of check-in. The first room had a very unpleasant odor and a poor view, with a large portion of the window facing the parking area. The room also had visible dust, hair on the bedding, and pillowcases that did not appear properly cleaned. I was extremely tired and tried to rest on the bed, but I immediately started experiencing itching on my body and felt very uncomfortable, as if there were insects in the mattress. We also found what appeared to be a dead insect in the room. We immediately requested a room change. Although the hotel provided another room, it also had similar cleanliness and odor issues. When we arrived in the second room, we even noticed a dead fly that had not been cleaned up. In addition, several advertised amenities were not available or not functioning. There was no masseur available for the spa services, despite this being part of the experience we expected. The swimming pool was also in poor condition and contained insects and debris, making it unusable. The experience was so disappointing that we ended up leaving the hotel within just four hours of check-in, and we were even willing to drive back 620 kilometers to Ontario. Unfortunately, this stay completely ruined our anniversary plans. We have stayed at many countryside and resort-style hotels before, and those experiences were consistently excellent and well-maintained. Unfortunately, this property did not meet even basic standards in comparison. Overall, the condition of the property did not match what was advertised, and it significantly impacted our experience. I would not recommend this hotel.

Our anniversary trip was very disappointing and far below expectations. We drove nearly 6 hours from Toronto hoping for a relaxing stay, but the property condition was unacceptable. The room was not properly cleaned, with dust, an unpleasant odor, and a dead insect found inside. After spending time in the room, I developed a skin irritation and severe itching, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. Several amenities were not as advertised: Jacuzzi not working Pool had insects and mosquitoes Mattress was uncomfortable Spa services were unavailable Poor customer service We were offered an upgraded room, but it was actually worse—dirtier, with a stronger bad smell, and loud plumbing noises coming from inside the walls. Even though I have stayed at many countryside and resort hotels such as Muskoka, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Whistler, and Cambridge, none were close to this level of poor condition. We checked out after only a few hours and did not stay overnight. No effective solution was provided by the hotel despite raising our concerns. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and not what was advertise

Overall, our experience was very good, and I would definitely come back. That’s exactly why I’m sharing this feedback. Room cleanliness — especially the carpets — could improve, and the housekeeping team should also be more punctual, particularly when a specific cleaning time is requested at the front desk. With better attention to detail and improved timing, the experience would be truly excellent.

Beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Everything was top notch from the ski concierge, incredible food at the restaurant to afternoon hot cocoa/warm cookies. Staff is warm and friendly and there for your every need. Stayed in the presidential suite for 6 nights and the room was just amazing- so big with 3 fireplaces and a private terrace with hot tub. Cannot wait to book another trip to the hotel.

We stayed 4 nihts at this property - wonderful team of people from Elliott (a valet and ski instructor) to the team at the wine bar. Neat to be able to have a fireplace in the rooms.
