Reviews for Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello
A little disappointing, hotel rather tired and in need of revamp. Power went off when kettle plugged in and rooms quite small and dark. Did not live up to our experience at other Fairmont hotels on this trip.

The hotel excelled where it counted most. cleanliness, service, friendliness, location and accommodations. The hotel is beautiful and | could sit in front of that huge fireplace with a book and a glass of wine for days! The attention to detail sets this place apart. The fireplace is stocked every 1-2 hours -not with a hunk of hardwood, but with 6-8 large blocks of hardwood so that you can watch a great fire in a stone hearth. Also, there was a large convention there the same week as us using 80% of the rooms. Instead of treating us like second class guests, the hotel staff went out of their way to communicate where events would be held so that we could avoid the noise and crowds and enjoy the hotel as well. We even received a couple complementary drinks and an apology for any inconvenience. This is a class organization. The grounds are spectacular with 5 km of walking, running, skiing trails, beautiful views of the river and a great restaurant. Rooms were warm and clean with great amenities. Nice Gym and we loved the huge pool. First class all the way. We liked the third floor as you had quiet, but at the end of the hall a warm spot to overlook the lobby.

Rooms are nice and cozy. This cabin feel is everywhere in the building with wooden interior. Comfortable bed, clean and nice washroom. Tea and coffee in the room. Beautiful seating area at the mail lobby. There are two pools - indoor one is half of Olympic size with Jacuzzi. I really really enjoy the pool. Outside one is smaller but also very nice with lots of beds around it to get some sun. There are so many activities you can do from gym, squash, cycling (there are bike at the resort and you can use them if you have purchased some resort pass), tennis, kayaks, etc. I was there in summer so all kind of summer sports were available, in winter they have winter sports gear. Plus a beautiful area to walk in the woods or by the lake. There are two dining places, one is a main one which has inside and outside sitting with fabulous breakfast. Second one is the outside and has great dinner buffet options. I loved my stay at this resort and I can't wait to come again. It is pricey but it's so worth it.

I was at the Montebello for a conference. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. The Lobby is absolutely stunning and great to sit and have a drink by the 6 sided fireplace. Grounds are excellent and perfect for walking/running, etc.

A public area that is really used because of comfortable furniture and gorgeous fireplace. Food is expensive, casual bistro not open until 5:00 in the afternoon so with children you may want to bring snacks for lunch or head to the village for a restaurant. Fabulous expansive grounds with beautiful gardens for walking and sitting by the water
