I saw so many good reviews on this hotel, that I booked this hotel with high hopes. It was a disappointment in almost every way. The room -- while others seem to have rooms with 4 poster beds and updated furniture, we had very sparse old rattan furniture, no dresser or drawers, and a dark, noisy space. The air conditioning was a room version (mounted near the ceiling) and it never got the entire room cool. Since the bathroom had no AC, it depended on the room, it was never a comfortable temperature. And speaking of bathroom, the towel rack threatened to fall (loose mountings) and it really needed to be painted from where prior guests may have been ill (stained paint near toilet). ewwww.. bottom line - the room was dreadful. We did have a nice outside area (this was a villa with semi private pool), but the room was so bad nothing could make up for it. The resort itself is very lush and pretty. If you love tree frogs this is the place for you. They make their noise from dusk to dawn... continually. I found it quite annoying after an hour... The food -- was again a disappointment. We read nice reviews and had mixed results. The fish dishes were always overcooked -- the scallops were tough and the grouper was dry. Really just overcooked. The lunch jerk tacos and jerk wraps were very good. But the burger was clearly a frozen patty and just tasted like cardboard. So a mixed result on dining. The staff were generally outstanding. The food servers and bar service was friendly and pleasant and helpful. The housekeeping staff were outstanding -- friendly and efficient. Same with bell staff. Front desk could be described as aloof. Not bad, but not friendly. There is nothing to do.. really nothing. Some people are ok with that. The beach is small. The snorkeling is a small area off the pier and not great visibility or fish. That's it. And going into town was unpleasant (if you need armed guards with automatic weapons to check the cars into town, perhaps this is not the place for us). It didn't feel safe. The resort did, but not off the resort. And again, nothing to do on the resort... The cost -- this is what really bothered me -- our room with tax was $690 per night. I am fine with that if it's a nice room, but as noted before it was dreadful. And then the meal plan seemed like a good idea to be simple at $199 per person per day. But the fine print adds 25% on that. So at $1187 per day for two people this was a really awful deal. Bottom line - Stay anywhere else.

Round Hill Hotel and Villas can be highly recommanded! Friendly and well trained staff on all levels, beautiful gardens all around (even an organic garden can be visited!), a cosy private beach with an infinity pool, a modern gym, free afternoon tea - I enjoyed my recent stay very much! Eggimann

I would have never guessed that our trip in Jamaica would be that exceptionnal. You will fall in love with Round hill, its staff and its cottages where you will live a unique and premium experience. You are welcome as a prince and served as royals. It is just the best of the Caribbean in the most exclusive (but affordable) resort.

We just returned from our third vacation at Round Hill, an it remains our “go to” Caribbean resort. As always, it starts with the first class way that every member of the staff treated us. They strive to make every guest feel like a VIP. Our room in the Pineapple House was impeccable, as always, with the usual breathtaking view of the beach and ocean. All of the services were top notch, from concierge to spa to the beach and pool to the bar, room service and wait staff. We can’t wait to return to this wonderful place.
