lovely villas, perfect for romantic getaways, or family/multi generational vacations. Beach is small, but most villas have private pools. Very good food, not far from town. Excellent food, can handle any dietary requirements. Villas/hotel rooms have no televisions, but with free wifi, one can stream netflix, amazon prime, etc. Quick 3 hour flight from NY, nice weekend getaway.

A relaxing vacation that couldn't have been better. The Hotel has an old world, plantation feel. The grounds are beautiful. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed talking with Mark. We would love to go back one day and bring our family. A Villa would be great for that!! Breakfast was confusing and expensive. the banana pancakes were good and Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is the best!!

We just returned from a 5 night stay at Round Hill with our 3 and 5 year old daughters. I know prior to booking I was digging through the reviews to find something detailed about traveling to the resort with small children. Since I didn't find much, I thought it might be helpful to share our experience. The resort is as beautiful in real life as in the pictures. The transfer from the airport was an easy 20 minute drive and the kids loved being greeted upon arrival with fruit punch (the rum punch for the adults was lovely too). We had adjoining rooms in the main building which were great since the access to the pool and beach was excellent. I would recommend the rooms with patios if your kids still nap as it gave us a place to sit out while our toddler slept. The rooms were beautiful, be prepared there are no TVs (which was fine for us - but could come as a surprise to some families). I would also recommend packing conditioner. After a day at the beach and pool - the battle with the kids tangles was epic. The pool is small for a typical Caribbean resort but more than adequate for our family. Older kids may be looking for a bit more activities and excitement. Also important to note is the pool is tiled and the steps in and out are very sharp. Our girls cut themselves a number of times and David (the lifeguard) started keeping bandaids in his pockets to help them out. Speaking of David - he was great. Always chatting with the girls and collecting mangos and coconuts from around the property for them to enjoy. The food was great - we did the modified meal plan (Breakfast and Dinner) for all four of us. We knew we may travel off the resort over lunch time so we didn't opt for the full meal plan. I am a nutritionist and their was always fresh and healthy options on both the adults and kids menu. We typically asked them to replace the fries for the with veggies or fruit and they were always willing to accommodate. A big note for parents - dinner does not start until 7:30. This was tough with small kids. They had a modified small menu at the bar that could be ordered earlier but it also meant that the adults would not get to select from the full menu. We typically gave the kids a small meal during tea time and a second small meal at 7:30 that seemed to work. On more than one occasion we asked to have my husband and my meals delivered to our room which we enjoyed on the patio once the kids were asleep. There is a delivery charge for this. Also our kids woke up very early (Jamaica does not follow daylight savings so they were typically up at 6) so we kept some fruit and yogurts in our fridge since the breakfast buffet did not open until 7:30. The kids ate when they woke up and then visited the kids club for an hour or two while my husband and I went to the gym and then grabbed breakfast - which was a treat to do on our own. The staff at the restaurants weren't overly friendly and didn't seem to engage with the kids. There were some wonderful exceptions (Faith, David at the pool, Richard the basket maker, and George one of the morning groundskeepers) but on the whole the staff seems very quiet (sometimes a little grouchy) and caters much more the the couples than they do to families. I will preface the next paragraph by saying that we visited at likely the quietest week of the year. We booked our holiday only a week prior to arriving in Jamaica and were disappointed that we were not told that our kids would be the only ones at the resort for 3 of the 5 days we were staying there. We had specifically asked if kids were welcome at the resort and if there were activities to keep them engaged and were ensured that yes there was. We were not looking for a place to drop them off so they could watch TV or play video games. With so few kids on the resort the typical itinerary of activities at the Kids club was not happening. It was much more of a babysitting service rather than a camp feel which we were hoping for. The manager Faith was not at the resort our first couple of days but when I discussed our disappointment she made a real effort to show the kids a great time for the 1-2 hours they spent there each day. The went shell collecting, painted rocks, made jewelry and even went on a golf cart ride around the resort. We really appreciated it and the kids ended up loving it. I would recommend that they play some music around the resort. It is incredibly quiet. It would have been nice to hear some local reggae. We had to ask for music to be played in the kids club and it would have been nice to enjoy it around the pool. In addition, we had a small issue (on our second to last day) that required the attention of Omar the GM. I really appreciated the time he took to talk with me and the efforts he went to rectify the problem and make sure we had a wonderful time on our final day. We could have left with a very bad feeling but instead left with great memories of time with our girls at this beautiful resort. The price is high (even in the off-season), but if you are looking for a tranquil environment, with great food and great management to connect with your family than Round Hill is a wonderful option.

7th visit at Round Hill. It's starting to feel like our county home or visiting family. We love everything about the combination of the villa living and the hotel on the beach vibes. Beyond all the beauty it's the staff that makes the whole experience and we love feeling like regulars.

Our villa was perfect. The staff were very professional, caring and not in your face. We liked that very much. Always willing to bend backwards to meet our every need and request. We recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxury and relaxing vacation in Montego Bay.
