The staff at Roundhill are incomparably friendly and helpful, from calling up the hotel to enquire about the different villas/cottages, to discussing arrival plans, activities whilst there. The resort is beautiful, more of a "classic" style than very modern/minimalistic - but that's the reason for coming here. If taking a villa (we took Villa 17) it's worth doing your research on their website since they actually offer a huge amount of information (go to the resort map and you can see every property in detail). Different cottages have different styles, which again adds to the character of the estate (some are more modern). We were there in down season so sharing a villa was relatively unlikely but if you do opt for a Villa Suite option, it's probably worth checking out which villas are most likely to be occupied by other guests too (i.e. is it a 6 bedroom, 4 bedroom, etc. etc.). Once you do your research online and draw up a list of dream villas, the staff are very helpful in trying to accommodate your requests, though of course, nothing is guaranteed until you actually check in (unless you take the whole villa of course). Then again, all the properties are quite beautiful so I wouldn't worry too much. Villa 17 was stunning and perfect for relaxation, which was what my partner and I were looking for. The house staff are wonderful and catered to our every need (including re-opening the main kitchen on the property after it had closed and sending us room service since we had accidentally slept through dinner). Things do close relatively early so watch out, though the hotel is excellent at helping organise a car to a local restaurants/bar. Beach and seafront pool are great (though we mostly stayed in our villa pool). Spa also excellent. On price - we happened to be given an excellent off-season deal so it was extremely good value. Having been there though, I think that it's probably also worth the $ in peak season. Would definitely go back again- recommend both for couples, groups of friends, and families. (re. room choice: Go on the hotel website and check the resort map - there is a tour of every property, and a floor plan. Unbeatable. Depending on how much research you want to do, the sky is the limit.. I pretty much arrived knowing all the properties and as such was able to make sure we had the one I'd hoped for (but keep in mind that it was down season!) And the staff are very helpful if you call up. We were in a "villa master suite" but ended up getting a "Pineapple Suite". They are stunning.)

I've stayed here many times in both the bungalows and the hotel rooms. There are many wonderful things to be said about this place - stunning setting, warm family friendly environment, and very helpful and lovely staff. It is almost like a club, in that you get to know the people who vacation there at the same week each year, and you see them year after year. It is perfect for families - wonderful babysitters, excellent kids club - except it can be very loud at night. The bungalows farther away from the beach may be quieter at night. There is a club across the bay the pumps music into the wee hours of the night (4am), and the sound gets carried across the water. Also there are no soundproof glass in the windows - just wooden shutters. So you are completely exposed to what ever noise is around you. I would recommend a bungalow away from the water, or maybe if you are a sound sleeper and don't have easily disturbed toddlers, you will fare better. I certainly know many families that swear by Round Hill.

The moment you step into the regal lobby of Round Hill, you should be well aware that you're in a special place. The incredible details include polished brass and antique furniture that don't distract from the incredible hues of the Caribbean Sea. You may also quickly realize that it's not just the exceptional beauty of the property that make it a special place, but it's the people. There's a rich history at Round Hill, and it's one that is shared. If you're lucky enough to meet their resident historian and concierge, Kingsley Blake, then you'll be treated to incredible tales of their famous guests. The grounds are vast and to be explored, yet you'll always have a sense of privacy and comfort as you wander. Round Hill is exceptional. A treasure. So, just go!

Villa 24 takes you back in time to old Jamaica, but with all the contemporary amenities expected in a luxury property. The baths have been beautifully renovated, and the outdoor shower is a plus. The manicured grounds, bay view and private pool are fabulous. The lovely housekeeper prepared a delicious breakfast each morning; and the gardner was happy to familiarize us with the plants and trees. It was a perfect stay.

This hotel is so charming, kind of small and quiet. The setting is fantastic and the whole mood there is great. Service is really good, restaurant good. Fantastic cocktails. The spa is really lovely. The beach is ok.
