Pros: Beautiful setting, nice views. Quiet rooms. Clean sheets. Cons: badly Stained carpets. Don't know the last time the room was vacuumed! But the area around the windows by the drapes were pretty dirty. Dust on all the lamps. Valve in the shower is upside down but no signs to tell you that. Took 2 days of cold showers to figure it out. Even then the water was just warm, not really hot. Too bad.

Visited the resort for a conference, expecting a luxury spa but our first impressions from the outside found it to be a little dated and run down. The front desk staff were super friendly and welcoming and when we got to our room we were pleasantly surprised by its size and the quality of furniture/fittings. The conference was well organized (although the lack of power outlets in the room and the slow, unsecure wi-fi was a bit problematic) but the worst part was having to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in the same room that the conference was being held. Inevitably it didn't take long before the room was smelly and dirty with food remains. We had some drinks at the hotel bar in the evening and I forgot to close my tab. Clearly this is a mistake on my part but the bar staff kept hold of my card and with the room booked in my name, i wasn't difficult to track down. They then decided it was appropriate to call my room at 3am. TWICE. Followed by leaving a note under my door instructing me to collect my card from the front desk in the morning. When i collected my card and bar tab (already charged) i discovered the bar tender had very generously given himself a 20% tip, instead of the 0% he actually deserved. Needless to say, the remainder of the conference was a struggle and once it was finished we left immediately instead of staying for the remainder of the weekend as we had intended.

We came here in a last minute decision for one night on the way back to Baton Rouge from Waco. It is a very nice resort with a great little water park. We came in the wrong season for that, but I would recommend visiting here in the warmer months with kids. The lake is big and there are lots of places to eat around the lake. The resort has a lot to offer and the suite is well appointed. There a few places to eat right on the resort.

I recently stayed at La Torretta for a wedding. We had a number of cottages booked for the occasion. They were quite dated on the outside but fine on the inside. However, there were a lot of bugs in the doorway of the cottages which got worse every time we opened the door. If you are going to visit though I recommend the bar as it's a good laugh with a mixture of DJ, karaoke and Xbox. They also have a 24 hour mini golf that we took full advantage of. The hotel also operate a shuttle service to allow guests to travel from the cottages to the main hotel facilities as it is quite a walk. All in all it was an alright stay.

I reserved a 3 night stay in a Lake View King with sofa bed. Let me just list all the things that occurred. 1. Room was not cleaned when I checked in. Someone's hair was all over the office chair. The bathroom floor was dirty and the room had not been vacuumed. I called the front desk and requested that it be cleaned the next morning because my family was tired. The next day they came, emptied the trash, replaced the towels and did nothing else. EVERYTHING I requested to be cleaned wasn't. 2. Restaurant 157 advertises that dinner begins at 5pm. We were told we could not eat until 7pm and it was exclusive for a large group here for a conference. 3. My room was not cleaned on my 2nd day here until I walked down to the front desk and asked for it to be cleaned. My son got toothpaste on the floor and it was still there when we return, the room was not vacuumed and the sheets were not changed. 4. The aqua pool area bar served us water with bugs in it not once but 3 times. My daughter's cheese quesadilla was so hard she couldn't eat it. 5. Our beach towels that were supposed to be clean had mud and grass on them. 6. They have no laundry facilities available for guests but you have all these swimming pools. What are we suppoise to do with the wet clothes? Even Econo Lodge has coin operated washers and dryers I was trying to plan a nice getaway Easter weekend for my family and it was such a disappointment. I put way too much stock in the name resort because I've had a better experience at a motel.
