About the Hotel

Situated in an historic 1882 building, Auberge du Vieux-Port boasts an illustrious past intrinsically linked to that of modern-day Montreal. Enjoying a close proximity to the St. Lawrence River, this former warehouse lay abandoned until 1995 when it was acquired and transformed into the jewel it is today. Now, this restored Old Montreal landmark offers an optimal location, refined accommodations and prize-winning French cuisine at the intimate Les Remparts.

Beautiful weekend escape in one of the suites all organized by Thierry Boislard. Just perfect. Great service quiet and cosy. Near all the perks of vieux port. We would do it again!

The perfect stay in Montreal

From beginning to end, our stay at the Auberge du Vieux-Port exceeded our expectations - we were welcomed kindly and treated to the hotel's beautiful and luxurious mix of old and new throughout out stay. With the ambience, accommodations, hospitality, and location right on the river in the old port, we could not have asked for a better stay for our weekend in Montreal!

A lovely stay

Beautiful hotel with friendly and professional staff. The bottle of wine and chocolates in the room was a nice touch. My wife and I found the bed to be extremely comfortable and the view of the Saint Lawrence was magnificent. It was also very convenient to have two restaurants attached to the hotel, particularly as we experienced several days of cold wet weather.

Exceptional Experience in Montreal’s old port

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The room was utterly charming, with a lovely view of the river, an exposed brick wall, and comfy bed. I loved the coffee bar and wine glasses (which I used!) in the armoire, and an upholstered chair for reading. The shower was unbelievably luxurious. The staff was exceptional. From the front desk staff, to the concierge, to the valets, they were friendly and very helpful to two slightly bewildered American tourists visiting Montreal for the first time. The valet parking was effortless (for us!). We arrived early and the valet was right there to greet us by name. They not only securely stored our luggage until we could check in, they also brought our bags up to our room after check in. The location was perfect; just steps from everything in the old city (restaurants, shops, attractions, the river walk). It was a short 10 minute walk to a Metro station that took us all over Montreal. I can’t say enough good things about the Auberge du Vieux-Port. It’s the best!

Perfect for a getaway to Montreal

The Valet, Yves, was super helpful during our checkout process. And the entire staff has our compliments for their outstanding service. The room was very comfortable and clean. Our room faced the river and we loved the tall windows. The hotel is walking distance to everything you'd want to see in Old Montreal. We will definitely stay here again.

In November, 2004, we stayed in Montreal at the Auberge du Vieux Port in Old Montreal. The inn is right on the St. Lawrence in a beautifully restored building in a charming section of the city. Staff were accommodating, friendly and informative in helping us make dining and sightseeing plans. We would highly recommend a visit to the Auberge du Vieux Port!
