Hotel St Paul

My executive roles have always required extensive global business travel. When I am in Montreal, I always choose the St Paul Hotel for several reasons: Aesthetics/Decor, Service, Consistency, Location and Attention to detail. As such, I have also chosen the St Paul Hotel for my personal family trips. Most recently, we celebrated my daughter's 25th birthday at the St Paul Hotel. The General Manager, Gregoire Lantoin took a personal interest in ensuring our stay was memorable and of the highest calibre. It remains the best boutique hotel in old town Montreal - by far.

Very nice hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable clean room. The Breakfast Room buffet on the 2nd floor was the best way in the city to start our day. Attentive, helpful and friendly staff. And the food was delicious. Bagels, quiche, croissants were offered. Along with sweet fresh berries and fresh squeezed orange juice. There was also a delicious charcuterie board with meats and cheeses. Also included were eggs (any way you like- including omelets), sausages, bacon, and potatoes. There were many many more hot food options. We loved the atmosphere and views, too. Will definitely visit the hotel and Breakfast Room again. 5 stars.

All I have to say is Great Hotel, Amazing staff & Beautiful Room. The customer service that I received at the front desk was extremely welcoming. If your looking for a cozy hotel in the Old Port this is the place. I highly recommend.

Fantastic hotel, great service, we had a great time in Montreal. The rooms were clean, staff attentive, and food great.

I've been a Marriott member for years, and I love all of their properties. I can honestly say this is one of the worst ones I have ever stayed at and isn't worth the lower cost. It advertises as a 4 star hotel, but I would compare it to more of a 1-2 star with a good location in Old Town/Port. The rooms are dated, the beds lack comfortable covers, but most of all, they cannot figure out their heat. We called maintenance once, and the guy told us to open our window (it was 32 degrees F), then after the heat wouldn't stop pumping out, our room was 77 degrees in the middle of the night. We then opened the window again, but the delivery trucks in the area resulted in being up from 4-5 am. After letting cooler air in, we shut the window, went back to bed, but then the outpouring of heat resulted in another wakeup at 6 am because we were back to 76 degrees. We called maintenance AGAIN, and they said they could not fix it, so they turned it off in the main furnace room, which brought it down to 74. We notified the female manager who was impressively unhelpful, said she'd look into it, never did, brought it up again the next day, said she'd look into it, never did, and now it's been days of her non response. When I asked if there was anything she could do about it, she said that we got a late checkout (1.5 hours) which also is part of having status anyways but she's claiming it was because of the heat. Disappointing for a Marriott property, would not recommend for the inability to understand temperature control but also for the inability to follow up or have basic communication skills from the management staff.
