Reviews for Hotel Le Germain Montreal - Temporarily Closed

Many times on business but also great for leisure travel .

I have stayed at this hotel and their properties in Calgary , Toronto , Quebec City and Montreal many times on business and have always had excellent service and lovely rooms. This time I stayed with my daughter and dog after dropping my wife at the airport for an international flight. I got a very different perspective as a leisure traveller and it was all positive. They were great with my dog and provided bowls, a dog bed and a treat on arrival. The rooms are beautiful and have one of my favourite things in a hotel….hardwood floors . There is a terrific little cafe for great coffee and bites next door and the hotel is located close to the best of what Montreal has to offer. It also has a top notch restaurant .Highly recommend this boutique hotel.

Fantastic service and small boutique feel.

One of the best, most hospitable stays I've ever experienced in a hotel. We stayed over the new years break, and from check-in to check-out, the hotel staff went above and beyond. The room was large and they offered multiple cleanings a day (including evening turn-down service). The vibe was also immaculate, as it felt small and boutiquey while also professional and high quality. The breakfast in their restaurant was also quite nice and well priced. Would highly recommend this hotel and if back in Montreal this will definitely be where I stay!

Don’t eat here

The hotel room itself was quiet and comfortable. The restaurant has a very limited menu. The portions are very small and too expensive for what is served. The wait staff was not busy but largely ignored us. We were very disappointed and will not return.

Lovely boutique hotel ... we will be back!

We had a fantastic stay at Hôtel Le Germain! The hotel exceeded our expectations, especially after reading the "failed cool" review here (which I found to be pretty inaccurate). The bed was incredibly comfortable, and our room was well appointed and stylish. We did not have an issue with the exposed shower since we're a married couple, but some people may not like that setup. Our room, a Signature King with a separate living area with a sofa bed, was exactly as depicted in the photos. The lobby bar was a nice place to grab a drink and snack before and after going out. All the hotel staff (front desk, valets, bartenders, housekeeping) were warm and friendly. Location is convenient and central to everything, but it's tucked away in a quiet block. Two things that were less than perfect: 1) Upon check-in, the room was missing some items that were listed as amenities on the website, and these are items that I would have brought if not provided by the hotel. These included robes and a magnifying mirror (which I need for my contact lenses). The front desk arranged for robes to be brought to the room right away, but it took a day and two more requests before they were able to provide the mirror. 2) The room was on the 4th floor, and the windows looked out onto a wall (basically an air shaft). We didn't spend much time in the room during the day, but it would have been nice to have a bit more natural light and a view in the mornings. The upside is the room was perfectly quiet due to this, but next time I'd like to have a view and see the sky! In the hotel's defense, I'm sure we could have asked to be moved, but we didn't feel like going to the trouble to pack everything up to relocate. It was dark out when we checked in, so we didn't realize the extent of the lack of light until the next morning. These are extremely minor nitpicks, though! We will definitely book Hôtel Le Germain the next time we visit beautiful Montreal, and I'll be sure to request a room on a higher floor ... and maybe I'll bring my own magnifying mirror in case it's not provided again. ;) Oh, and the Ruby Brown body wash, shampoo, and conditioner smell DIVINE! So much so that I purchased some to take home (conveniently for sale in the lobby).
