Talk about wow factor. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were beyond well treated. We only stayed one night, but it felt like we were there for one week because everything was amazing about Le Germain. This hotel has a very welcoming and helpful staff, has an awesome/central location, super comfortable sized room, and free breakfast (just to name a few). It was about a 20 minute walk to Old Montreal and the weather in August was perfect for the walk. Pick this hotel for your stay in Montreal and you won’t be disappointed!

We stayed here for two nights and I don't think I've ever found a hotel that fit my likes 100% as this one. It's a small boutique hotel in a perfect location in Montreal - quiet yet close to a lot of the sights and tours - right down the street from McGill. The room was huge, very modern but still very comfortable. The bathroom had every amenity and was also very large. Each floor contained very few rooms and it was so quiet you wouldn't know there were other guests. They had a wonderful breakfast with a great Canadian spread and a server who kept the coffee coming. The staff was very helpful and gave lots of good advice. I can't recommend this enough and would definitely stay here when we return.

Hotel Le Germain was a perfect choice for our holiday in Montreal. This well located and well-appointed boutique hotel sits in the heart of the downtown district with easy access to bars, restaurants and efficient public transport links. Our spotlessly clean room (classic size?) came with a luxurious king-sized bed and a large, well-equipped bathroom area with waterfall shower (the Molton Brown shower gel and shampoo products supplied were a lovely surprise). Our visit coincided with an unexpected September heatwave, with temperatures reaching 30C (90F), so the highly effective air-conditioning was much appreciated. The room had all the standard expected fittings - minibar, room safe, excellent free Wi-Fi and plenty of sockets for chargers. Worth noting is that when we had two minor problems with the room during our stay - a loose towel rail and a broken shower control - these were both repaired within minutes of reporting our concerns. The hotel offers inclusive breakfast. Full standard continental breakfast was available, alongside cereals, porridge, speciality teas and coffees. Any items that ran out were speedily replaced, service was always courteous, efficient and helpful, with staff ensuring you were seated quickly and offered coffee however busy the breakfast area was. As with the rooms, the public areas were very well maintained. The stylish reception area was very comfortably furnished, offering guests the chance to relax with fresh complementary coffees, books and magazines. Friendly, informative staff were always on hand to deal with any enquiries, additional requirements or simply, in our case, have a quick chat about how the holiday was going. Above all, what stayed with us was the unfailingly warm and personal service that Le Germain offered. Front-of-house staff provided an impeccable service, demonstrating an intuitive understanding of guests' requirements, whether staying for business or pleasure. Guests were treated as individuals and staff were very good at building an easy, unforced rapport with them. This was our first visit to Canada from our home in Edinburgh. We felt very fortunate indeed in our choice of hotel. It always offered a calm, happy base after a hectic, sometimes almost overwhelming day trying to take in all the fantastic places the city has to offer in our all too short two-week break! We'd give it our highest recommendation to anyone spending time in Montreal. We loved Montreal and we loved Le Germain. Here's to our next visit!

We stayed here for two nights and were delighted withthe location and the helpfulness of both reception and bell staff. I think breakfast [which I have heard complimented on TA] was a major disappointment. The service was not as warm and naturally friendly as we have experienced almost everywhere else in Canada. When I asked for a couple of eggs, sunny side up, I was somewhat abruptly told that was not possible. I could see chefs working in the kitchen, almost certainly prepping for the day but I know, having run my own hotel and restaurants, that it is is no trouble at all for a chef to pop on a couple of fried or poached eggs into a pan. It thus seemed unnecessarily petty at this level of hotel and with service in all other aspects being so good. And again the buffet was one of the poorest in any hotel we stayed in during our month long stay in Canada. Hot dishes weren't topped up promptly and the fruit selection was poor. As breakfast is the most important meal of the day, i would have rated this 3.5 were that possible. It would have been churlish to have rated 3.

Our stay at Le Germain Montreal was wonderful. The staff at both the front desk and concierge were beyond friendly and helpful. The rooms were decently sized and very clean; they were of a modern design but didn't feel too "cold." Every night we received free bottles of water, chocolates on the pillow and turn down service. The bathrooms came equipped with a shower/tub that was great for both. The view isn't much to write home about, but still nice to have some natural light coming in. The free breakfast every morning was a moderately simple but well executed continental, with as much free tea and coffee as you could want. The lounge by the front desk also allows for free coffee (espresso) and tea all day. Biggest draws for this hotel are the staff, clean/modern rooms and location. Definitely plan on staying here again when we return to Montreal.
