We stayed at the Gold Level. Thanks to Jacob, manager of the Gold Level, we were able to have a suite connecting to our room. The service is excellent and all of the staff are both professional and courteous. The hotel has great amenities including a spa, gym, restaurants, and access to the underground city and train station.

We recently spent 4 nights at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth. We truly loved our stay. The hotel is stunning, and is the hotel where John Lennon and Yoko Ono did their bed in, years ago. The hotel is immaculately clean, staff was very friendly, the location is perfect for exploring the beautiful city of Montreal. We had a King Room with a view and it was gorgeous. The hotel had several groups for meetings and while it was busy downstairs our room was spacious, clean, the bed was very comfortable and it was so quiet. Downstairs you will find several restaurants, a bar, a coffee shop, and a pastry shop with gifts and specialty food items. The hotel is also attached to the Underground City that offers unlimited shopping, many food options including the Time Out Market that offers quite a few food spots with different ethnic food. We were absolutely thrilled with the hotel and wouldn't hesitate in staying again. Parking is pricey and we avoided that as we flew into the airport, took the bus to the hotel, and walked or used the underground system to get around the city.

Mediocre location - not particularly near old town. It was Ok but not in a part of town with much character. Cruise line Windstar picked to hotel for us and I would not select the hotel again. Busy cold impersonal modern but slightly dated. Initially greeted warmly at check in, was told room wasn’t ready because we were early (9am). Expect room to not be ready before 4pm regardless of arrival time. No flexing allowed. Despite being soaked by rain - no sympathy at front desk!

An amazing night in Montreal. This was a fabulous stay in Montreal. It was our first time staying downtown and the Fairmont did not disappoint. I would fully recommend. The room was big and clean, the lounge was lovely and our check in at the upper lobby was an ease after all day travelling. We will definitely return.

Fourth Fairmont we’ve stayed in and probably my least favourite. It didn’t have any of the Fairmont charm as it is very much a city hotel very large and a bit soulless. Saying that the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really good really wide range of options at the buffet and the largest and tastiest blackberries I have ever seen! The room was quite small and so was the bathroom but we had a great city view. Small little things let the room down there was a vent missing on the air con and a bulb had gone on the light which you would have expected this to have been checked for such an expensive hotel. When we reported them the maintenance person couldn’t have been more helpful and was utterly charming too! The outside terrace bar was really lovely and we were lucky to be there for one of the nights it opened, our other nights we had to have drinks in the restaurant as there wasn’t really another bar. Similarly there was no quite lounge area to relax and as there were a couple of conferences on the communal areas were exceptionally busy - we had to queue for about 20 mins for breakfast one morning

I enjoyed three nights at the Queen Elizabeth in May 2024 and could not have been more pleased, with just a few exceptions. Let's start with the positive first. Every staff person I encountered was extraordinarily friendly, helpful, and kind. The Signature amenities were explained to me without my having to ask. I was greeted by name almost without exception and the person who cleaned my room left me the nicest note thanking me for a tip I'd left. It's those little things that make such a difference.
Everything about the property has been recently updated and it looks great. The fitness center is especially modern and well-equipped. The key cards are wooden rather than plastic -- another small detail that made my stay more memorable. The cocktail bar is hopping with a DJ and inventive cocktails - worth the price in opinion. In terms of location, you couldn't ask for anything better. Just steps away from the main shopping and entertainment areas, metro stations, and railway.
Now a few gripes. I booked a 420 sq ft. Deluxe Room which was supposed to have a view. I was upgraded to a Jr. Suite of the same size, but without a view and felt small. But for a family, it would be perfect because the two rooms are separate and the living area has a powder room. But the view... any room that is on the back side of the hotel looks out over the rooftops of office buildings and nothing more. Be sure to request a room with a view of the Cathedral or the plaza. And... the bathroom was tiny! I mean, really tiny.
The restaurant's buffet breakfast was as expected. Aren't all buffets the same no matter where you are? I ate dinner there the first night and it was excellent, but I never returned because the menu was so limited. Not even a salad! Fortunately, the room service menu offered a little more variety.
Final note: for spa lovers, the Queen Elizabeth has what I consider treatment rooms, not a spa. There is no relaxation room, hydrotherapy circuit, etc. However, the fitness center has a nice pool and Jacuzzi and the large changing rooms have single-sex saunas. I'd rate this property and my experience a 4-1/2 and would definitely stay again.

My whole family loved our stay at the Queen Elizabeth. It is a perfect location especially after taking the train from Quebec to Montreal. Our dinner at The Beaver Club was the highlight of my trip to Canada. It is quite rare when you dine in a restaurant that has lovely ambiance, exemplary service, and food which makes your taste buds jump for joy.

I recently visited Montreal. My stay at the Queen Elizabeth was such a delightful experience I will not soon forget. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is out of this world, they really make you feel like you are important, like someone very special, they seem to go out of their way to help you. A special thanks to Viviane who works at the front desk, she was so helpful and thoughtful, a real gem. I also would like to thank César who was a great help. They are top of the line. By the way, the food and service at The Beaver Club is excellent.
