Reviews for Hotel Gault

Highly recommended

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed in an Airbnb on our last city trip and really enjoyed the independence – especially being able to manage meals around jet lag. This time, we chose a hotel again, but with a kitchenette and dining area – and it was the perfect decision. We had the best of both worlds: excellent hotel service, a beautiful room, and the convenience of a small kitchen. The staff was very helpful whenever we had questions. We were extremely satisfied with our stay, and the location was perfect (5 min to Metro or Notre Dame). Highly recommended!

Business trip made relaxing with the accomodations

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location was perfect to see the old port and had many stores and restaurants within walking distance. The room was very well kept; the turndown service was amazing - arriving to the room after a long day to dim lights and calm music was very relaxing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There were robes and slippers available in the room for use and the umbrellas were perfect to have for the few days it rained. This was my first trip to Montreal and based on the service and stay at this hotel I would happily return with my family.

Exceptional stay in beautiful loft space

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Hotel Gault is exceptional. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I felt completely at ease. My room was absolutely beautiful—so spacious and clean—with fabulous little touches I wasn’t expecting, like robes and slippers. It felt more like a stylish small apartment than a hotel room. I really enjoyed making a coffee from the machine and watching the Olympics as the sun rose—such a peaceful, memorable moment. The only downside was the gym, which was very small. As the hotel is so well equipped otherwise, I was quite surprised. There was no mat for floor work and barely enough space for more than two people to use the machines comfortably. There was also no water or towels provided, which in my experience have been complimentary in other hotels in Montreal. The staff were very helpful and I loved the district, I didn't have breakfast included so I can't comment on that, but there was an amazing vegan restaurant at the end of the road, which was an absolute delight. Overall though, a wonderful stay, I didn't want to leave.

Beautiful home but breakfast is a buzzkill

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I think Hôtel Gault is quite beautiful and has an excellent location. I was upgraded to the loft and it was really very comfortable and spacious with every detail attended to. I do think the breakfast situation could be better. For the amount being charged, the feeling of receiving a pre-made plate is a buzzkill. The smoked salmon bagel was OK because it is a bagel, but the oatmeal was really poorly presented. I'd suggest some more thought in that department. Given the hotel's proximity to Bon Marche and other grocery stores, extras such as a pastry counter or a cheese/confits counter would be good additions.
