We were a little surprised at the front entrance of the hotel as it is definitely in need of an update however, once we entered the front lobby, we relaxed as it was lovely. This resort has many benefits: it's small so easy to get around, it's only 5 minutes from the town which offers a supermarket and a number of great restaurants, it's quiet, relaxing, it has a restaurant on site and has fantastic snorkelling right off the deck or beach area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the overwater bungalow #426 and loved this location. The snorkelling from the deck was amazing. We sea turtles, sharks, dolphins, octopus, stingrays and dozens of varieties of fish right from our deck - amazing. The room was spacious with a large 4 piece bathroom and a comfy bed and pillows. Breakfast was included and offered a good variety of food. We also had lunch and dinner at the resort which we enjoyed. We paid for the Polynesian night which included dinner however anyone in the resort can watch the show by standing around the restaurant area. There is an activity centre by the pool which offers jet ski, scuba and snorkelling trips. There was only one small disappointment which was the worn paddle boards and kayaks and there were only 2 paddle board paddles. This certainly did not have a negative impact on our wonderful vacation however something worth mentioning. We ate at 3 restaurants in the small town which I would recommend: Moorea Beach Cafe, Rudy's and Te hanu iki. All were great! They even send a car to pick you up and drop you off back at the hotel. Te hanu iki is right on the water and you can see stingrays and sharks right beside your table. Now for the prices that everyone comments on. Yes, food and drink are more expensive than you will find at home. Lunches and Dinners range from 29 -50 CAD. Manava offers a happy hour for drinks but not all drinks are included in the happy hour selection. All in all we had an amazing vacation and we absolutely stay at this resort again. Thanks Manava for a great holiday.

Room 307 - Beachside Location is good, about 15 minute drive from ferry terminal, 5 min walk to a small supermarket and a small shopping centre Good thing about the resort Nice pool area Bed was comfortable Close to a supermarket Lovely big pool Beachside Bungalows were very comfortable main restaurant had nice food, and the buffet breakfast was nice Things that let this resort down are: Internet is poor to say the least - very frustrating when trying to keep in contact with family, do emails etc Shower pressure could be better Some staff seemed to be stressed and overworked which impacts on customer service. Reception area was always busy when i needed something, and they needed another person serving Bar restaurant food was average On 2 days they ran out of beach towels, as they had issues with a breakdown. We had stayed at the Hilton on Moorea prior to coming to the Manava so we might have been slightly biased since the Hilton was exceptional. Overall we were happy with the resort. One of the best things we did from the resort was the Jet ski tour - this was the highlight from our holiday, and i would thoroughly recommend you do this, it includes history, a swim with the sharks and sting rays etc

Best part of this place is the location so close to the town Mahaerepa (sp?). Lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance and a very safe feel to it. We did not bring children but many people did and they seemed to be having a great time so I would say it’s good for families. Service was good and prices were standard. We stayed in garden bungalow with pool, which was very nice. Biggest con was the view (or lack of ) the bungalows over the water pretty well completely block your view from the pool or the beach. If you don’t want to look at the back of a bungalow get one of the bungalows or get some of the beach front bungalows to one side of the property. Half the beach front bungalows also have their views blocked.

If you are looking for a resort that is gorgeous, relaxing and not so large you need a guide to get around, this is the place for you. We’ve seen pictures of cabanas over the water, but this version is fabulous. Ours had a glass topped coffee table over a glass portion of the floor. We had the choice of swimming in the infinity pool or the lagoon off our lanai or relaxing in our room, watching multitudes of fish swimming in the coral under our coffee table. If you want never ending formal entertainment, try a cruise, if you want a unique opportunity to see nature at its finest, try Manava Beach Resort & Spa.We’d go back in a heartbeat.

Our stay at Manava was part of a holiday that took in a few days in Tahiti and 7 day cruise around the Society Islands. Our time at Manava was the highlight! The service we received was exceptional, from the guys at the sports desk to reception we were met with warm smiles. The bar was a standout - Fafa was so much fun and provided much local knowledge. The facilities were great, the food and drinks delicious and the show exceptional. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable. One downfall is no gym, however with the water sports and spacious room we found plenty of ways to keep active. The hotel is ideally located, walking distance to the local township.
