I advise anyone researching to stay here with your dog to stay FAR away. Not only is the hotel rife with additional fees, they require animals never be left unattended, and trust me, they are WATCHING. It’s quite creepy: we went with a group of friends and at 5pm our friend got multiple calls from the hotel stating they had received noise complaints of their dogs barking. The hotel voided their hotel keys so in order to get back in, they had to visit the front desk to be scolded and threatened with a $250 fine if they get one more noise complaint. Remember how I mentioned all these additional fees? $35 per pet per day. So if you plan on skiing and bringing your animal, skip this hotel! And for the management who responds to these stories, please rescind your “pet friendly hotel” amenities. Your hotel is neither pet-allowed, nor FRIENDLY.

Made reservation and then upgraded but then called me at 930 pm the night before check in to let me go know they wouldn’t honor the reservation saying it was a mistake. That’s a lie as a had friends looking to make a reservation and the rooms were still offered after I received my email confirmation. Then you get here and they charge you $30 per day to park but my standard SUV with a ski rack won’t fit in their lot. They then send you to the public parking lot two blocks away. Haven’t been here for more than two hours and I already know I won’t ever be back.

Took a snowboard trip to crested butte end of Jan 2026 and I want to preface this with I will absolutely stay here again on future trips but there are some quirks. Hopefully these reviews are read by management for improvement. Let’s start with the good: Location - This is as close to the lifts you will get. The main lifts are literally steps away from the building - and many units have a lift view from the balcony. Price - Given the location and amenities of the property, I am shocked at how well priced the rooms are. A comparable room in Breck or Vail would probably be $800+ per night. We paid $200/night here for a king bed/lift view balcony. Room size - Room felt large and cozy. Plenty of closet and dresser space. They also included a couple robes. Food/Bev - They have a solid lobby bar with a lounge area that opens early. They had great coffee and breakfast burritos. There is a Mexican themed restaurant on property as well which is great. This also has a lounge area with pool table. Amenities - indoor pool and hot tub, two outdoor hot tubs, huge sauna, huge gym with mountain views, small arcade, ping pong, foosball, ski/snow shop, and a ton of furniture to post up and chill. Staff - Everyone I talked with was smiling and helpful. Just nice people all around. Pet friendly - I loved seeing dogs with their families. Very cool to see on the mountain. What needs work: Arcade - at least half of the games are broken. This could use maintenance. Indoor hot tub temp - need to turn the temp up! The outdoor tubs are great temp. Indoor not so much. Getting room cleaned - need to request cleaning and even though I called lobby to request, it never happened. Pool table - it’s dated and feels pretty unstable. Could use an upgrade. Shower temp - would start off luke warm when handle was all the way hot, but after about 10 minutes it would suddenly get crazy hot. All in all, I would choose Elevation as place to stay next time I come to Crested Butte. It really is a great spot and the price/location cannot be beat.

4 of us stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was perfect! Room was perfectly clean, master bed was so comfortable and we were just steps from the chairlift. We would never stay anywhere else!

Elevation Hotel is our favorite go to hotel for our skiing ⛷️ trip! (I’ve been coming here for over 7 years) We come twice a year. Hotel is located on the base of the Mountain. Giving you ski in/out excess for skiing ⛷️ Hotel is equipped with a restaurant and lobby bar, spa, etc. Rooms are excellent and very clean. Has every amenity that is needed. Staff is friendly and courteous.
