Boasting magnificent views of majestic Mount Kenya, the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club Resort's 120 luxuriously appointed hotel rooms, set in over 100 acres of landscaped gardens, offer a unique blend of comfort, relaxation and adventure. Its no wonder that this Nanyuki resort emerged as winner in the 2013 Travellers Choice Awards and that Travel & Leisure Magazine often positions it in the 'World's Top 50' List. Reviews for Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club
Staff friendliness and bar/restaurant service good and attentive. Our stay was for 3 nights, from Sunday,11 Mar to Wednesday 14 Mar, in the Mawingo Suite, Room 218. House keeping service was good with daily replenishment of toiletries, however attention to detail was lacking as the sanitary bags were not replaced and the table surface near the coffee/tea making tray were not wiped clean. Our main diappointment is with the lack of follow up and communication by the front office staff, Faith, on our serious compliant of very hot water flowing through all the taps including the cold water taps. One could have been scalded had care not been taken, especially if there were children saying in the room. My comfort was compromised on the very first morning of our stay. To mitigate against the poor handling of our complaint, the front desk could have allocated another room to us whilst they were sorting out the problem. During the duration of our stay, the General Manager was not available. We have been loyal patrons of the property for very many many years, however this visit has been a very big disappointment. The question is - Would we want to go back?

Awesome reception and services all the way. The environment and views are exquisite and breath taking. Manged to visit the MAZE and did not get lost :). Lastly the food is awesome and accommodating in a global sense. Indeed you get value for your money.

We were welcomed by the beautiful view of the majestic Mt Kenya from the reception. Very good check in service with a hot towel and everything was ready and were off to the rooms. We had booked the riverside suites. I was unhappy with the service given by the person who came to drop us. No one helped us with the bags and had to carry them on our own. The rooms were amazing, the wooden deck (although it could be more private as you could see the next room), the living area, the bathroom and my favorite the fire place! One major issue was the leakage in the room from the roof. We tried to inform the reception on the first day but all was in vain until the 2nd day when it started raining heavily after which our room was changed. Food was average and not many options with meats except the Sunday lunch with so many varieties which is not to be missed, it was definitely worth it. Dining staff were very very friendly and made us feel so welcome especially one of the staff called Joe - the mountain fire man, a very joyful person. One of the problem was that activities were a bit pricy and could have been a bit cheaper. Generally, it was a great weekend.
The manager was insisting that the hotel's new policy was once a guest paid for half board then they were only to have breakfast and lunch and Not breakfast and dinner, as dinner was to be charged separately. She said that was the only meal plan available, and yet on checking the Internet booking sites, bed and breakfast was still being sold for that same hotel. On standing our ground, we were offered snacks instead of the dinner which we had paid for, and these snacks were served to us in the dinner area which had an elaborate buffet that remain untouched. Faith at the reception was a bit patronising, but all the other restaurant and concierge staff were very warm and friendly. As for the housekeeping, they should clean out the spiders and cobwebs in room 527.

The hotel is on the Equator, and is a gorgeous property originally owned by film star William Holden. The rolling green topography and beautiful landscaping, invite birds and monkeys to visit. We strolled along with Joseph and Paul while they fed them. One can participate in horseback riding, fishing, walking the labs, hiking, and other activities. The Gift Shop has lovely items for sale. The rooms are large and luxurious, and sitting outside by the little chimneys is loads of fun. A peacock may stroll by you. The food and service is exceptional. Please be sure to visit the Animal Orphange on the property. It is exquisite. Love this property.
