Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club in Mount Kenya, Kenya
Boasting magnificent views of majestic Mount Kenya, the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club Resort's 120 luxuriously appointed hotel rooms, set in over 100 acres of landscaped gardens, offer a unique blend of comfort, relaxation and adventure. Its no wonder that this Nanyuki resort emerged as winner in the 2013 Travellers Choice Awards and that Travel & Leisure Magazine often positions it in the 'World's Top 50' List. Originally the retreat of movie star and Club founder, William Holden, the Club's illustrious former members have included Winston Churchill and Bing Crosby.
The prestigious main structure reflects the 1950’s colonial architectural design with a luxury country club feel, complemented with independent quaint cottages, including William Holden’s original cottage. Enjoy an elegant dining experience at the Tusks Restaurant, one of the most exquisite restaurants in Nanyuki, offering a sophisticated indoor set up which extends onto a terrace, with a great view of the majestic mountain. Adjacent to it is the Zebar, a great spot to unwind after a day of adventure, while the Swimming Pool Bar is perfect for a tranquil rendezvous. For those who wish to spend time relaxing at the Mount Kenya resort hotel, there are many Nanyuki recreational activities available: horseback riding, golf, croquet, a bowling green, table tennis, swimming, an animal orphanage and much more.

Reviews for Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club
On the slopes of Mt. Kenya a room with a view of the same is one of the most magnificent scenes. Visit the real life maze and find your way to the center of it. The food was awesome especially the 'Breakfast+Lunch' commonly known as Brunch. Sports available, too many to chose from; golf, bike riding, dog walking...

The whole experience was memorable. The staff were friendly and courteous, facilities are well maintained including the grounds. There are lots of activities to keep all guests engaged. Horse riding, walking the dogs, golf amongst many others. The food was always amazing with superb presentation.
The hotel staff were very unfriendly and the hotel rooms are soo old and dirty and feels super filthy to stay in. When we requested to be movedf to a different room they really jumped at the opportunity to sell us a much more expensive room without even asking why we would like to move or giving us options of other rooms which were at the same rates that we booked for instead they just ask to move us to a suite and ask for more money! The person at the reception handling us could not even care to listen to us instead he kept asking us to go to the room and he will adjust the rates, which I found to be very rude. In the end we were helped out with the manager who showed us a better room at the same rate we had paid and then all was fixed but other than that the staff are so unfriendly and if you ask for anything seems like you are bothering them. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone just save your money and find other better hotels that are nearby. This is an overrated hotel. I also have friends who were complaining of the same things as we were.

Great food, great ambience, good staff but poor housekeeping. During our stay, we had to keep calling for items to be replenished. The room would be cleaned but new towels would not be brought. At some point, we ran out of toilet paper and the housekeeper did not replenish the same. The reason given is that they had ran out. For a hotel claiming to be one of the best in the region i don't expect such an excuse. The housekeeping team need to pull up their socks.

Amazing views of Mt Kenya and various birds. Rooms were adequate; it had a fireplace to keep you warm, but the sound proofing was poor as we heard various people having conversations and going up and down the stairs (people were respectful and being proper, the walls were thin, and the door insulation was poor). Food was very good, and there was plenty of options. They also had an onsite gym.
