Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club in Mount Kenya, Kenya
Boasting magnificent views of majestic Mount Kenya, the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club Resort's 120 luxuriously appointed hotel rooms, set in over 100 acres of landscaped gardens, offer a unique blend of comfort, relaxation and adventure. Its no wonder that this Nanyuki resort emerged as winner in the 2013 Travellers Choice Awards and that Travel & Leisure Magazine often positions it in the 'World's Top 50' List. Originally the retreat of movie star and Club founder, William Holden, the Club's illustrious former members have included Winston Churchill and Bing Crosby.
The prestigious main structure reflects the 1950’s colonial architectural design with a luxury country club feel, complemented with independent quaint cottages, including William Holden’s original cottage. Enjoy an elegant dining experience at the Tusks Restaurant, one of the most exquisite restaurants in Nanyuki, offering a sophisticated indoor set up which extends onto a terrace, with a great view of the majestic mountain. Adjacent to it is the Zebar, a great spot to unwind after a day of adventure, while the Swimming Pool Bar is perfect for a tranquil rendezvous. For those who wish to spend time relaxing at the Mount Kenya resort hotel, there are many Nanyuki recreational activities available: horseback riding, golf, croquet, a bowling green, table tennis, swimming, an animal orphanage and much more.

Reviews for Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club
The property is beautiful with breathtaking views of Mount Kenya with grounds that are beautifully landscaped with gardens, a pool, and even a maze. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The food was buffet style for all meals and was good. The bar was very nice with fantastic views. We had a lovely River Suite which was private and away from the main building and you could hear the rush of the river which was nice. However, there seemed to be a lack of attention to detail, if we are talking about a five star hotel. We had to wait an hour past check-in, for our room. There were no towels in our room when we finally got there. The bathroom is large and very nice, but the soap dish in the shower had come off the wall, and the toilet would not flush properly. We were looking forward to a cozy fire from the turndown service when we returned from dinner, but turndown had not taken place, so we went to bed. With the lights out and shades drawn, housekeeping knocked on our door repeatedly at 9:30pm - which I feel is a little late. The next morning we were unable to reach Room Service on the phone to order breakfast. These are minor details but when added up, can be frustrating. With that said, we probably will return and let me emphasize that the staff is very friendly and the hotel is beautiful.

This was our family's first trip to Kenya, and we decided to stay at the safari club for 2 nights in between our hectic ten day long Gaming / safari experience. It was very relaxing and rejuvenating. Some of my favourite things about this place are the food, the live retro music during dinner and expanse of greenery and trees surrounding the whole place. The fairmont is a old hotel, with over 100 years of service experience (if I remember correctly). That's why, even though it's a really big hotel, you feel very much at home and cared for. We spent one day at the spa, which I highly recommend. They have a range of wonderful treatments, at fairly affordable rates. You need to book in advance because the slots get filled up fast. So I recommend booking it at check in itself. The food was exceptionally good. They had a wide variety of cuisines, made with rich, fresh, local produce. It is also very vegetarian friendly. Some suggestions - we really wanted to play tennis, however they didn't have a coach/ trainer on the property that we could play with. Also, they charged separately for renting tennis rackets and balls. Would definitely recommend as a relaxing stop between your safaris!
Second stay in less than 12months and this place is just awesome. Great ambience, service and those touches that make guests feel wanted and welcome. Halfway through dinner the waiter asked how our food was and my colleague's said his lamb chops were abit tough and they were immediately replaced with a great alternative. Rooms had fires oit by the time we were turning do the rooms were nice and toasty. I love staying here and will be back!

From the gate to the room, the service is excellent. Manicured lawn/coarse for golf lovers. A giant maze at the lawns to stretch your legs. The rooms are majestic, with a view of the dramatic Mt Kenya
The grounds, staff, professionalism, cleanliness, buffet, views, maze, church, horses, golf, tennis courts, swimming -perfect. The only downside was not having beef in the breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet. However, when they did put the beef, it was too tough to cut. Otherwise, perfect, beautiful, serene place. A definite go back place.
