We have just returned home from a 6-day family vacation at Dusit Thani Maldives and our heads are still stuck in the nostalgia of this resort paradise. Overall, Dusit Thani is the perfect LUXURY family resort in the Maldives providing true value for money. I mean, it's expensive but what 5-star resort in the Maldives isn't? At least at Dusit Thani, you get MORE than what you pay for. I'm talking about the incredibly beautiful resort, scrumptuous food, amazing spa and dive center, and unbelievable SERVICE!!! The Dusit Thani team from the resort's GM Mr. Johann, his assistant Laura, our always available butler Riyaz, our dedicated babysitter Naaz, our super experienced dive master Khalid, to the restaurant staff - Rungnapa and chef Wirat at Benjarong - truly the BEST Thai restaurant in the Maldives, Faisal from the Marketplace who just loved our kids, and the team of housekeeping staff and gardeners who kept everything on the island looking impeccable. There are many other names and people worth mentioning but there is just not enough room here. Everyone treated us like royalty and our kids were genuinely spoiled. Pluses worth mentioning: - Spa team and the monthly spa specials were just great! We had booked a 2 hour massage session every other day and were not disappointed. $300 per couple for a two-hour massage from head to toe...what a great deal! Please please keep this going Dusit Thani....we are looking forward to coming back for this treatment! - Benjarong thai restaurant - the best Thai restaurant we've ever been to, including the ones in Thailand! Ask Rungnapa to create your order (she goes off the menu to suggest dishes that will suit your tastes) and chefs Wirat and Sunai will never disappoint...we ate all but one of our dinners at Benjarong and wished we had had all of our meals there. - Kid's Club: very well designed and equipped. Our 5-year old and 1-year old loved spending time here. The staff here are so caring, kind, and the kids are kept busy with fun activities such as arts & crafts, pizza making, and outdoor play. What would perfect this kids club? Longer opening hours, no lunch closure, and no minimum age. Keep it free and included in the resort fees please! This is a big plus! - Eco-friendly practices: treated water provided in reusable glass bottles (please keep this going and free!), paper straws, bikes for transport, room amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and after sun gel provided in refillable ceramic bottles - please also keep this going and maybe add hand soap and body lotion in the same formats like in the spa to get rid of using the small bar soaps and plastic tubed body lotion. Things that can be improved (as let's face it, no one is perfect): - The Marketplace buffet: we ate here for breakfast and one dinner and although the choice of food items was impressive, not all items were done well. Perhaps reduce the choice and improve the quality...and reduce food wastage also. - Dive Center: overall great (dives were closeby, dive master was super experienced, dive sites were impressive, crew and boat were well prepared and of high quality, dive master took photos during the dives to share with us) but little things could have been improved on the boat especially for the price we paid for dives: e.g. serve fresh fruit vs. cookies in between dives, serve better beverages such as fresh juice, and reduce towel provision to one towel per diver to reduce laundry. - Find a way to reduce food wastage and towel usage. This involves educating guests. We saw many people taking more food than what they could finish at the buffet and using more towels than needed by the pool or beach. - Spa facilities: - could use some aromatherapy on spa premises such as the famous lemongrass oils, the "hot tub" had jets that were very weak and thus did nothing to relieve sore muscles, the steam room was way too hot!!, and the music during massages could be improved (perhaps let the client choose) We have visited the Maldives more than a few times and have stayed in top resorts such as Como Cocoa Island, Six Senses Laamu, Kanuhura, to name a few and Dusit Thani is hands down the best overall. We really struggled to find things we didn't like here. We highly recommend this resort to any family traveling to the Maldives and we intend to stay here again hopefully very soon. Thank you Dusit Thani Maldives for a simply unforgettable family vacation!

This was our 1st visit to Maldives and chosen Dusit Thani for our honeymoon trip. It’s such experience I have never been, all the facilities are good, food is delicious and people there are friendly, especially our perfect butler - Mario, he is a nice, hospitable and helpful person, always give us a lot of advice to make our journey perfectly. Moreover, we were so luck to see the sea turtle by 2 out of 3 snorkelling, swimming with turtle in ocean and a lot of colorful fish surrounding, that moment is amazing and unforgettable. We really enjoyed the time stayed in this resort.

This review is very overdue - my friend and I visited the Maldives and stayed at the amazing Dusit Thani Maldives (DTM) in Baa Atoll almost 1 year ago (late April 2017), and I very much wanted to post this before time to do so ran out. What can I add to the superlatives other lucky DTM guests have written? At least a few things: (1) Our charming, friendly, and always-knowledgeable butler, Abdulrahman - he prefers to go by Mario, so I'll call him that - was outstanding in every way, and I can't thank him enough. (2) Carmen and everyone else on the staff were also great - there's nothing but winners among the DTM staff. (3) Our water villa (I think it was no. 213) was amazing: beautiful, spacious, comfortable - and being right on (well, IN) the ocean and stepping off our terrace to swim with all the teeming aquatic life was an unforgettable experience that I want to do again and again. I will get back to the Maldives - next year, I hope - and will definitely stay again at DTM. (4) The food - excellent, as were the drinks from the main pool bar. (5) Mudhdhoo Island is beautiful and peaceful, just the perfect size for walking and biking all over: 20 minutes to bike around the entire island, and maybe 45 to walk it. (6) The beaches, snorkeling, and boating excursions were all outstanding. (7) We just loved everything about DTM, and as I said, I'll be back! Thank you!

We just returned from a 4 night stay at Dusit Thani Maldives and wanted to thank the team at the hotel for our wonderful time. Our holiday could not have been better, the property is absolutely stunning with white sandy beaches and green shaded alleys which are a pleasure to ride through on a bicycle that the hotel provides. We stayed in a beach villa and the accommodation was beautiful, functional and very comfortable. The service is very attentive but not overbearing and almost invisible. The activity centre is very well run with attentive and knowledgeable stuff. And we are particularly grateful to the restaurant staff for making (for the duration of our stay) a special breakfast for our son who wanted an ethnic dish that was not offered at the breakfast buffet. Each and everyone of the staff made our holiday unforgettable and we are looking forward to heading back to Dusit Thani Maldives in the very near future.

I've been to many resorts and I LOVE THEM! This is special, why? * snorkelling just below your room is outstanding! No need to swim far to see fantastic sea life * bicycles: it is nice to be able to go everywhere with a bicycle! No need to walk long distance or wait for a buggy if you forgot something in the room!J * butler: an efficient person is taking care of you * free food for kids!
