Dusit Thani Maldives

We arrived in the Maldives on September 30 and took a seaplane directly to the resort that same day. Everything went smoothly from the moment we left the airport until we reached the seaplane lounge. The Dusit staff guided us throughout the entire process, so we never had to worry about finding our way. Upon arriving at the island, we were welcomed with a lovely ceremony and introduced to our butler, Ajaa. We then enjoyed a buggy tour around the island before checking into our villa. We booked a Waterfront Pool Villa for five nights, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Compared with a beach villa, we didn't have to worry about insects, and having direct access to the ocean made snorkeling incredibly convenient. The reef drop-off was only about 20–30 meters from our villa, and we could already see plenty of fish in the water right in front of our room. It was a wonderful experience. Our Activities October 1 was an incredibly busy and exciting day. We had booked a turtle snorkeling excursion in advance and were lucky enough to see around seven sea turtles! On our way back, the team received news of manta ray sightings, so we went straight into a manta ray excursion without missing a beat. We saw approximately ten manta rays, which was absolutely amazing. After the manta trip, we joined the resort's complimentary sunset cruise at 5:00 PM. Later that evening, after dinner, we heard that a whale shark had been spotted nearby. Although we didn't manage to see it that night, the whole experience of responding to wildlife sightings made the day even more memorable. On October 2, we successfully spotted a whale shark in the morning, followed by a Discover Scuba Diving experience in the afternoon. Another wonderfully fulfilling day! On October 3, we enjoyed a relaxing spa treatment in the morning and went out again in the evening, successfully spotting two more whale sharks. By this point, our marine wildlife encounters had truly exceeded our expectations. Since the previous few days had been so packed with activities, we decided to take things easier on October 4. We joined a Wood Mandala Art session, taking some time to slow down and find a little inner peace. On October 5, our final day, we headed out at 5:30 AM for a Big Game Fishing excursion. It was our very first deep-sea fishing experience, and we ended up catching two skipjack tuna, two and a half yellowfin tuna (half of one was taken by a shark!), and one trevally. Another fish was taken by a shark before we even got to see what it was. We left the island by seaplane at around 3:00 PM, bringing our unforgettable five-night stay to an end. The Villa Our villa was clean, well-maintained, and beautifully located. The only minor inconvenience was the lack of power outlets near the bedside. The Island and Environment The island's natural ecosystem is very well preserved. We frequently spotted different species of birds and fruit bats, which added to the charm of the surroundings. Cycling around the island was also a pleasure. However, I would suggest adding lights to the bicycles. The island is quite dark at night, and it can sometimes be difficult to see other guests on the paths. Activities and Dive Center Most of our activities were arranged through the Dive Center, and every experience was excellent. Before each boat excursion, the staff provided a clear briefing, and during snorkeling trips, team members accompanied us throughout the activity. This made us feel safe and well looked after, especially since we are not particularly strong swimmers. Food and Restaurants We chose the Full Board (FB) meal plan because we didn't want to worry about going hungry, and we had the opportunity to try all the resort's restaurants. Sea Grill had the best desserts in our opinion, while Benjarong was probably the most suitable for Chinese tastes overall. We mainly visited The Market for breakfast, where the selection was quite varied and satisfying. Sala, the vegetarian restaurant, was less suited to our personal tastes, although that is simply a matter of preference. Special Thanks to the Wonderful Staff A large part of what made our stay so memorable was the people we met along the way. Ajaa, our butler, was incredibly attentive and responsible throughout our stay. He helped us arrange and book all kinds of activities and services, and was always quick to respond to our messages on WeChat. His assistance made everything so much easier. Shafiu from the Dive Center accompanied us on our turtle snorkeling and manta ray excursions. He was especially considerate of my wife's limited swimming ability, making sure she felt comfortable and safe throughout the trips. We truly appreciated his patience and care. A Bao, our scuba diving instructor, guided us through our first scuba diving experience. He explained everything patiently and thoroughly before the dive, made sure we moved safely underwater, and also captured some precious photos for us to remember the experience. A very special thank you also goes to Sinaan, Azim Zimbe, and Captain Adhil Dhombe, who took us on our Big Game Fishing trip. They were extremely professional, and it didn't take long before we hooked our first yellowfin tuna. Since neither of us had any previous fishing experience, they took care of attracting the fish and handling the initial stages of the fight. Once the fish was on the line, they would hand the rod over to us, allowing us to experience the real thrill of fighting the fish ourselves and reeling it in during the final stages. It definitely took some effort, which made the moment of landing each fish even more rewarding! What made the experience even better was their enthusiasm. Every time we successfully landed a fish, they cheered us on and celebrated with us as if we had just achieved something incredible. Their excitement was contagious, and they made our very first deep-sea fishing adventure an incredibly fun and memorable experience. Overall Our five nights at Dusit Thani Maldives were filled with unforgettable experiences, from swimming alongside sea turtles and manta rays to encountering whale sharks, discovering scuba diving, and catching tuna in the open ocean. The beautiful island, comfortable villa, excellent marine activities, and above all, the wonderful staff made this a truly special holiday. We came to the Maldives hoping to experience its incredible marine life, and Dusit Thani helped us make that dream come true. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable!

We had the best time here! The food was amazing, the villa was beautiful, and our butler Ajaa was the sweetest and most helpful person. He made everything so easy for us. All the staff were friendly and attentive. We truly enjoyed every moment and will definitely recommend this place to our friends. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Dusit Thani Maldives is a dreamlike place. Everything was wonderful and convenient — you can snorkel right outside your door and see tons of coral and all kinds of fish, and there are dive trips every day. The dive center also went out of their way every time to help us find mantas and whale sharks, which we're very grateful for. The resort itself is truly beautiful, and the location is excellent. A special thank-you to our butler, Danil. He was so patient throughout our stay, messaging us regularly, on call to book all sorts of services for us, and always patient and accommodating when welcoming us back after snorkeling. He even came to wherever we were having dinner each evening to walk us through the day's plan and anything we needed to know. Overall he helped us enormously, and we were extremely happy with him. The dining was good overall, but I do have one small piece of feedback. I wasn't a fan of how much of the menu the all-inclusive package doesn't cover, and of the various restrictions. Clearly people are here on holiday and won't fuss over an extra hundred or two hundred dollars, and not everyone on AI is going to eat everything on offer. But if being on AI means paying extra — sometimes even more than a non-AI guest pays — just to try some other dishes, then the AI package loses much of its point, and you might as well go à la carte from the start. This isn't only based on my own past experiences; I also heard fellow guests mention that at many islands, AI really does cover everything. Here, it would make more sense to offer an upgraded AI tier that covers everything — so you'd have Premium AI, Standard AI, and à la carte. I'm sure some people would choose the upgraded package rather than pick AI only to run into more restrictions and end up with noticeably less freedom than guests who didn't buy AI at all. That said, it was still a truly wonderful holiday overall!

We had been talking about a Maldives trip for a couple of years now and after initially having a few places in mind settled on 5 nights at Dusit Thani Maldives. We knew the Maldives would be amazing but didn’t really know what to expect. From the greeting at the Male airport, our arrival at the resort and the duration of our stay, Dusit Thani Maldives exceeded all our expectations. Our butler Danil, besides giving us a tour of the island and taking us to our villa, was amazing in making sure we had everything we needed and kept us upto date on daily activities, dining options and whale shark and manta ray sightings. He was extremely friendly and made our stay as stress free as it could be, so thankyou Danil. Our Overwater Villa was beautiful and the access to their spectacular house reef from our back doorstep was amazing. So much marine life within metres you could snorkel for days and not see it all. We also got to swim with both Mantas and Whale Sharks which were both bucket list items and the most amazing experiences. Lastly, and we feel bad for not remembering all their names but all the staff at the Market every breakfast, and Benjarong and the Sea Grill for lunch and dinners. The food was amazing and everyone was so friendly and welcoming every time we saw them. Overall a must visit destination we would recommend to anyone and would love to return to someday. We had a wonderful stay at Dusit Thani Maldives, and the island was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed staying in both an overwater villa and a beach villa — from floating breakfast, beautiful sunsets and stunning lagoon views, to the incredible snorkeling just a short swim from our villa. The drop-off was especially beautiful, and we also loved snorkeling around the house reef and relaxing on the white-sand beach. It was the perfect combination of ocean, reef and beach for our anniversary trip. A special thank you to our butler, Danil, who made our stay truly memorable. He was always warm, friendly and punctual, and was incredibly attentive to all the little details. When we felt that our first room was not private enough due to its proximity to the jetty, he immediately helped us find a better room. He also kept an eye out for the Manta on Call experience we had been hoping for and helped us finally get to see the manta rays! Later, when I mentioned that the bicycle at our beach villa was a little too big for me, he quickly arranged a smaller one. On our last day, he also did his best to arrange the latest possible seaplane transfer, allowing us to enjoy more time on the island. Seeing his friendly smile every day really made us feel at home. Thank you, Danil, for making our anniversary trip even more special! The food and service throughout the island were also excellent. The team at The Market and Reception were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the team at Benjarong were wonderful as well — both the food and service were excellent. We also loved the romantic atmosphere at Sea Grill. What impressed us most was how genuinely friendly everyone was, including the housekeeping team who looked after our room every day. Thank you to everyone at Dusit Thani for making us feel so welcome and for adding so many wonderful memories to our wedding anniversary trip. It was truly a beautiful and unforgettable stay, and we would love to come back again. ❤️
