In selecting this hotel the most important criteria was a quality house reef. I did quite a lot of advance research and Dusit Thani was described as one of the best. I was not disappointed! I spent many hours snorkelling on the reef and every time I witnessed the amazing marine life. From the endless fish varieties, to sharks, turtles and rays. So if you are interested in the quality of the house reef this is a perfect place to stay. I swam around the perimeter of the reef, about 2.5km, several times and it really is a 360 degree experience, but it seemed the best zone was on the north side of the island between the dive centre and the water villas. We also took two organised trips to nearby reefs. The first to swim with manta rays. This was just incredible and to spend an hour swimming with 8 large mantas was like a ‘bucket list’ experience. The second was a short boat trip to see turtles. Also a great excursion as you swim with larger turtles, but in reality it is easy to get up close to the turtles at the hotel house reef! What made the holiday truly magical was the rest of the experience - the hotel itself, the jungle setting in the island and the staff! We have so many positive experiences from our 10 day stay but here are a few highlights; Dining - we took the all inclusive package which enables you to eat lunch and dinner at any of the three à la carte restaurants. All have incredible food but I have to mention Sala. As a plant based menu and me being a meat lover we only visited this restaurant to try it and because it had a beautiful location and a very cool interior space. I’m just so glad I did this at the beginning of the holiday! In the end it was the venue we visited the most! The food is extraordinary. Meticulously prepared, with amazing taste. From ‘watermelon (like tuna) sashimi’ - yes it’s really like sashimi with an incredible taste, to kebabs. And an incredible carrot cake! (I didn’t think I liked carrot cake!!! Everything plant based! We loved this restaurant!! Added to the food, Amila, with his team bring enthusiasm and passion about what is served. I want to say a huge thank you to Amila for the education and his gentle and friendly service! Amazing!! Breakfast - at The Market it is a buffet service, with a great selection of food to suit all tastes. As everywhere at the resort, the staff are so friendly and attentive which makes the Dusit Thani experience so special. A very nice touch was the daily breakfast visit to the table from Jean-Louis, the manager to check everything was ok! We stayed in a well appointed beach pool villa, very private with direct access to the beach and sea. Each villa has private bicycles for guests. This is a perfect way to get around and explore the island and experience the lush jungle setting. The final highlight was the feeling of exclusivity - it is not a resort with a lot of rooms, so it feels very relaxed and private wherever you are. I also want to say a huge thank you to Anas, our butler. He is incredibly helpful, very polite and friendly always ready to assist and I marvelled at how fast he organised any requests. He also made our stay very special - Thank you to him!! This was just an incredible vacation!!!

We had a great time at Dusit, good view and the peaceful is what we really appreciate, all the staff show us a warm welcome, butler Ajaa deal all the problems for us and handle all our stuff in good hands, thank you Ajaa; we really want to thank another staff at SeaGrill, but sadly we can't remember her name, she done her shift during 12th Jan ~ 16th Jan as front-desk(who will ask us the signature and room number after the meal), she spread her enthusiasm and warm welcome to us and we really like her smile.

We had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful resort. The island is beautiful, lush and relaxed. We were told it used to be a coconut plantation, so it is very green, spacious and well maintained. Every room has bicycles available to get around. This mad exploring the island easy and joyful. There is a fabulous house reef goes around the island and it's truly stunning, with some of the best snorkelling. We saw sharks, turtles, eagle rays and colourful fish and corals. And it was easily accessed from our waterfront villa. The food was delicious, especially the Thai restaurant and the all inclusive was worth every penny. You could choose a starter, main and desert from the a la carte menu, so there was plenty of choice and it being a Thai chain, the food was authentic and varied. The wine selection on the a la carte was very varied too, with a choice from about 20 wines by the glass, including champagne. Our butler, Muhey, made our stay feel very special, by responding to our request in a friendly and very timely manner. He went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was seamless, for example by changing my youngest son's bicycle numerous times until we found the perfect fit for him. It made a huge difference to our stay, and we really appreciated the time he spent and the way he communicated with us. He was so responsive and helpful. All in all, we enjoyed the good, old fashioned luxury. Relaxed, barefoot, elegant, with a focus on service and food. The private outdoor cinema, manta snorkelling and nightime snorkelling were some of the highlights the kids will never forget. We loved everything about our stay and hope to come back very soon. NB: we have been to 3other resorts in the Maldives (Six Senses Laamu, W, NH.Collection Reethi), and this was our favourite. It also offerns very good value for money.

Our family had an absolutely unforgettable time at Dusit Thani Maldives. From the island’s infrastructure and ecological preservation to its impeccable service, every aspect was sheer perfection. Our butler Ajaa was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, and helped us secure a wonderful room. We sincerely hope to have the chance to come back and vacation here again in the future.
