Dusit Thani Maldives

From the moment we were met by your representative at the airport and back again, our experience was amazing. When we landed in our seaplane transfer to the Dusit Thani resort, it was like landing on 'Fantasy Island!' The welcoming and friendly staff waving hello, our refreshing towel and drink made us very comfortable and we had an expectation that this holiday destination was going to be something special, and it was. Next we met our butler, April, for our introduction tour around the island and we soon discovered what a pure delight April was. April is a valuable and personable guide and was a huge asset to our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble and she truly loves what she does. We were also extremely happy with our temporary home of an overwater Ocean Villa. It looked amazing, had a comfy bed and terrific amenities, especially our private infinity pool, from where we saw lots of tropical fish in the reef over the edge. Even a dolphin! We went snorkelling on the wonderous reef, had a sunset cruise, romantic dinner and delighted in the motto of the island that 'shoes are optional' at all times, even in the restaurants. Although we needed them during the day as the sand and boardwalks got pretty hot! Our holiday to Dusit Thani was to celebrate my 60th birthday and I felt like a 'Princess' every moment. April was beyond compare with her efforts, in cahoots with my partner, to organise birthday treats for me, which I appreciated so much. I need to shout out a special mention to the dedicated and very attentive twins on staff, Supun at Sea Grill and Prabath at the Sand Bar. They are brilliant at what they do and anticipating our needs. Such professionalism and value as employees should not go unrewarded. All the staff we encountered were really friendly and it was welcomed to see that they would point out when there were steps in our path so we were aware. I liked too that the Area Manager, Jean-Louis, took time to greet guests and have a brief chat while we were at two restaurants. I must also mention that the food was exceptional wherever we dined. We had the most wonderful enjoyable holiday we have ever had and recommend Dusit Thani as an excellent holiday destination.

Our first time in Maldives and Dusit Thani did not disappoint. Located in the Baa Atoll, Dusit Thani has a great reef for snorkeling. If you are looking for a smallish, more exclusive experience, highly recommend booking this resort. The service is warm and attentive, starting at Male airport itself. Hotel staff is there to help with seaplane transfers. You can wait at the hotel's arrival lounge until your seaplane us ready to depart Its a 35 minute flight to the hotel. Our butler, Azim, greeted us as soon as we arrived by seaplane and from that time, made our stay comfortable. There are different accommodations for different needs. If you are traveling with young kids, you should book the beach villa for direct beach access. For a couple, highly recommend the over water villas. All rooms are just as big and luxurious but offer different experiences. If you are traveling with kids or plan to drink during your stay, I recommend taking the all inclusive package. Almost everything on the menu (food and drink) at all restaurants is included in the package. It's very expensive to order alacarte otherwise. They have a fantastic Thai restaurant called Benjarong, a plant based restaurant called Sala Bar, a seafood restaurant, Sea Grill, the bar and the main breakfast/buffet restaurant, The Market, offering something for everyone. There is enough and more to do around the island. Don't miss cocktails at the bar around sunset. For us, the highlight was snorkeling from right outside our villas. If you are lucky, you can spot a reef shark or ray fish! We loved our stay at Dusit Thani and look forward to staying there again.

Our 5-night family vacation at Dusit Thani Maldives was nothing short of wonderful—an experience we’ll cherish for a long time. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and a special mention goes to our butler, Daniel, who truly made our stay even more comfortable. He was attentive, thoughtful, and always ready to help, making everything feel seamless and personalized. One of the absolute highlights was the extraordinary marine life. We were lucky enough to spot nurse sharks, blacktip sharks, and even a turtle! Watching beautiful schools of fish glide through the crystal-clear waters was simply mesmerizing—like swimming in a live aquarium. The food was exceptional throughout our stay. The Indian chef deserves a special mention for going above and beyond, preparing delicious meals exactly to our preferences—it felt like a taste of home in paradise. Our overwater villa was stunning, offering breathtaking views and complete tranquility. Combined with the excellent service, every moment felt luxurious and relaxing. Overall, Dusit Thani Maldives delivered an unforgettable experience for our family. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect blend of comfort, natural beauty, and warm hospitality.

A la carte restaurants offer a wide selection of local quizine (ask for mango and papaya for desert) 😊 Spa treatments recommended!
