Dusit Thani Maldives

We just returned from a fantastic holiday at Dusit Thani Maldives. Long story short….just go, it really can’t go wrong. This was our 7th visit to the Maldives all of which have been exquisite, and this one did not come short in any way, on the contrary. It was our first time in Baa atoll. Hopefully it won’t be the last. Baa atoll proved as fantastic as we had hoped for. Villas As we were 5 adults, we had booked two Beach Front Pool Villas. Villas were average Maldivian standard. They were not brand new, but convenient and clean. Bed was excellent and housekeeping came by twice a day with new bed sheets every other day. Mini bar contained the usual items - it was all good. Food We had booked the Pure Indulgence plan. It was pricy as these packages always are in the Maldives, but in our view, worth it. The restaurants are very, very good. Locations are excellent by the ocean, menus Are varied, and quality of food cannot be higher. The wines included in the PI are OK, but sometimes served a bit too warm, but nothing a bucket of ice couldn’t fix. And staff was always very helpful.The morning buffet was very good with egg stations, pancakes, fruit station etc. Absolutely in line with what you should expect from a 5 star resort. Diving and snorkling The resort has maybe the best house reef we have had in the Maldives. It is outstanding!!. On any given day, you will see sharks (nurse and reef), turtles, eagle rays and tons of fish. We lucked out and saw dolphins right in front of the villa, and my son managed to snorkel out and see them in the ocean. We preferred to snorkel from our villa (302) and then anticlockwise. However, the current can be quite tough. My husband and our three adults did a lot of scuba diving and had many amazing dives with the Ocean Dive Centre. Baa is the home of mantas and whale sharks. The dive center arranges trips to Hanifaru Bay every time mantas or whale sharks are spotted. Be ready to grap your snorkelling gear in a jiffy and run to the boat. NOTHING beats being in the water with these marvellous animals. The trips are generally tough on the pocket, but going to Baa and missing out on seeing these creatures would be such a shame. Service and convenience - the resort offers a butler service as do many other Maldivian resorts. We have never really made any use of the butler. This time was different and I think the reason was that our butler, Azim, was so easy to get in touch with. Upon our arrival, Azim took us around the island and helped us getting settled in the villas. We established a Whatsapp-group with him and all of us, and we used that chat group to communicate with him. It was extremely convenient. If we had something we needed help with, we wrote to Azim on WhatsApp and he got back to us very quickly. Whether it be housekeeping, dinner reservations, excursions etc., we could direct it to Azim. That was a real luxury, and I am still trying to figure out, how to handle my everyday live without Azim 😆. Many reviews have mentioned the incredible staff at Dusit Thani and I can only echo what others have said: The people at DT deliver a service and show a level of hospitality that is nothing less than outstanding. We felt so extremely welcome everywhere we went. I do get that for them it’s a job, but as a guest, you almost forget because of their sincerity. They are ALL incredible and a big thanks to all of them. However, I do want to mention some of them: - Alex (Market) greeted us every morning in the most welcoming manner, served me one of Atta’s manta pancakes on my birthday with a birthday song and also made time to come and say goodbye - Mai (Market) worked every morning, every evening, and always with the biggest smile - Prashanth (Market) made us I don’t know how many omelets and fried eggs, always to perfection - Dinuka (Market) thanks for preparing such delicious food with the biggest smile - we loved your soup - Atta (Market) the king of pancakes and to some extent partly responsible for us having to go on a diet now, always going the extra mile to provide the best experience for us - Rabeeu and Raveesha (Sea Grill) exceptionally hospitable and doing their utmost to provide top service - James and Pande (Benjarong) servicing us in the most pleasant manner and experts at making us feel welcome - Obbs (Benjarong) who played a big part in making my birthday dinner one of the most memorable ever - I am extremely grateful - Amilla (Sala) introduced us to exceptionally delicious vegan food, did everything he could to make our visit to Sala enjoyable and suggested a hot pot dinner on my birthday in a setting that was unbelievable. He decorated the pavillon beautifully and we were all stunned and touched by his efforts. A host in a league of his own! - Azim - our fantastic butler who was never more than 5 minutes away and who fixed everything in a very efficient manner. All questions were answered, all problems were solved and all requests accommodated. - And last - but certainly not least - Majeed, who waited on us at the Market, and who personally decorated our dining table with beautiful flowers and “napkin art” on the last day before he had to leave for a well deserved holiday with his family. We felt spoilt by all of the DT team - a huge thanks to all of them. In conclusion, if you need to be pampered on a luxury holiday, go to Dusit Thani!

Nine times in the Maldives, three times at Dusit Thani — and we're still not done It might sound boring to return three times to an island only 700 meters long. It's not. Let me tell you what you have to do at least once here: Swim around the island. It's 2.4 km — do it in a rough hour for exercise, or take three hours if you get carried away by turtles and endless fish. Run or cycle the 1.4 km trail. Take 6 minutes or take 30 — your choice. Order any drink at the Sala Bar — they know better than you what you want anyway. Same at Benjarong: order anything, they know what to do. But seriously: the quality of everything on this island — for me one of the most beautiful spots on earth — stands out. The managers of every outlet, whether The Market, the grill, Benjarong, Sand Bar or Sala Bar, and every single person working there, are as exceptional as the food and drinks. If you are chasing perfection: here you go. Each day starts with an excellent breakfast (the pancakes are stunning) and ends with a sundowner and a wonderful dinner — and everything in between is pure fun. We can't name everyone, but we value your dedication. Our evenings at the Sala Bar with Bawah and Amila will never be forgotten. ...and so we'll have to return a fourth time, still surprised by what you can do on a 700-meter island.

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary earlier this month and we had a fantastic time. The rooms were clean, modern and luxurious and all of the staff throughout the resort were amazing, friendly and so attentive. Azim, our butler, was great and always responded very quickly to any questions we had and helped us book excursions, dinner reservations and spa treatments. The house reef was rich in marine life and we were lucky to see turtles, rays and nurse sharks. Thank you for the wonderful stay and we will be back.

The setting of the island is purposely made for guest to enjoy the serenity of the place. And everything unfolds beautifully. Thanks to our butler Yassir, all issues and constraints vanished for a week. The level of service everywhere, from the spa to the restaurants and diving center is outstanding. I cannot find any disappointment worth mentioning. Kindness and attention to details were particularly striking. A week in paradise.

The first thing that strikes your eyes is the crystal blue water when you land in Male . On arrival everything was organised by Dusit staff very warmly and efficiently Danil my butler was already on call explaining to me the queries i had and made it simple to understand what will work for me as a sole traveller . On arrival at Dusit Thani there was a warm welcome and was introduced to Danil my butler who was the one who tool care of all my requests , booking restaurants guiding activities in the island . His suggestions were always the best and i soon learned to trust what he would recommend . The boundry less dinner was an amazing experience , My diving experience the couple of days that i did with Azim was truly magical and i recommend everyone to do atleast once even if you don't know swimming . Every moment of the week i stayed was memorable and never a dull minute . Incredible hospitability by excellent dedicated staff driven by passion . Will visit back at the earliest possible.
