Dusit Thani Maldives

My husband and I stayed at Dusit Thani for our first visit to the Maldives. The professional hospitality and genuine friendliness of the staff on Mudhdhoo Island was what made our experience so enjoyable. Upon arrival, we were assigned a butler, Mr. Naan, who proudly introduced us to the island and took care of everything we needed over the 5 nights we stayed. We never felt that he was performing a duty; it was more like he was our reliable friend. On our very first morning, we were lucky enough to swim with the Manta Rays! I was nervous about snorkeling as a beginner, but the Dive Guide, Mr. Aboa, took the initative to take extra care of me, making me feel safe. Another Dive Guide, Mr. Shafiu, offered to take our camera below the surface and came back with beautiful footage that we wouldn't have otherwise gotten. Throughout the week, everyone at the Dive Center treated us so kindly and were extremely professional leading all the water activities. The people on this island are very involved in marine life conservation. We learned so many interesting facts and felt comfortable engaging in conversation with everyone, especially the in-house marine biologist, Rose. She is experienced and knowledgeable, and speaks in a manner that is comfortable for those who don't speak English natively. In addition to the exciting activities they offer, the food is an experience in itself! There are several restaurants on the Island, which are staffed by warm individuals. At the spicy Banjarong, Mr. James will recommend the best dishes for your needs and joyfully explain how they are prepared, while Ms. Prang and Mr. Obbs will make you feel like you're dining at your friend's house. At The Market buffet, Mr. Alex is a generous person who takes care of both staff and guests, chatting and making sure we are all enjoying ourselves beyond our meals. We also spent time with Mr. Humaam, who eagerly answered all our questions about his home and this island. Ms. Mai greeted us every morning with a smile, Chef Prashant prepared my omelette every day with interesting conversation, the fruit Chef remembered our allergies and favorite cuts of fruit each day, and Chef Atta is a skilled pancake artist and flavor genius! For our last activity before returning home, we took a private cooking class with Chef Atta, where he delightedly explained all his traditional Maldivian cooking methods. We highly recommend this activity if you want to learn some techniques that have been lost to history. We also recommend visiting the farmer, Mr. Ramesh, in the Chef's Garden. He supplies the restaurants with his healthy herbs, vegetables, and gourds which he tends to with care and organic alternatives to pesticides. He was so kind to spend time walking us around his garden, explaining each crop in detail. Our appreciation for each meal we had during our stay increased by the day. There are not enough nice things to say about Dusit Thani Maldives. We truly feel that we came away with new lifelong friends and are looking forward to visiting again with more of our family! We highly, highly recommend this location to everyone looking for a relaxing but meaningful vacation.

Dusit Thani Maldives lives up to its reputation as a foodie’s paradise—the dining experience was exceptional, with twelve completely different meals over four days! The service on the island was equally impressive. Our butler, April, was incredibly warm and friendly throughout our stay. We really enjoy our honey moon！

April was the standout star of our stay at Dusit Thani. Her professionalism and dedication were impeccable. No matter the request—be it dining, activities, or villa needs—she responded instantly and took full ownership. We particularly appreciated her proactive problem-solving and reliable follow-up; she ensured everything was handled efficiently and kept us informed. April’s commitment to service made our holiday seamless and stress-free. She is undoubtedly the MVP of the team and a true asset to the resort.
