Review Dusit Thani April 2026 Pure Paradise, Pure Aquarium, Gastronomy, Pure people, Pure dream come true! The wow effect in every respect for this beautiful 5 star plus resort in the Baa atoll ! We're essentially Maldive lovers and have been coming for many years . So We can say that we have the Maldives bug. Dusit Thani is roughly our 25th Maldivian experience !!! We do agree with all the positive reviews about the accommodation, 5* food, beautiful reef and first class service , so we'd rather comment on the environment and the personal human experience we encountered which is often what makes the difference from one resort to another considering that wherever you go all islands are beautiful and extremely well maintained especially at 4* and 5 * resorts and Indeed the lagoons, the underwater life, the tropical fish, the rejuvenating coral and so on. This resort cannot run so smoothly without it's exceptional staff and of course it's Management. We definitely would give it a 10/10 from our arrival with the swift transfers to the departure looking so relaxed and radiant and yes would love to return. This holiday was near to faultless thanks to everyone but especially thanks to our ever so present , professional, dynamic and helpful Butler - April - a gem! who welcomed us along with the GM Jean Louis Ripoche , Executive Chief Olivier Portret, and their teams including of course guest relations management - Hermea and some front house employees! This welcome sets the tone of the holiday from day one . Great accommodation As of late, we chose to split our stay between an Overwater bungalow and a beach plunge pool. The OW was very comfortable with nice toiletries too and a beautiful ocean view with a large terrace nicely furnished next to a pool with direct reef access subject to the tide and where you can sit and enjoy watching the sunset. You could even see different tropical fish underneath the steps leading to the lagoon and it's vibrant reef. Around there are some beautiful coral formation and lots of colourful regrowth. As avid snorkelers this was a feast for us . We do equate the Maldives primarily with a house reef all round with shoals of fish just like at Dusit and within few strokes, or steps from your beach bungalows, exceptional services , beautiful and comfortable accommodation and least but not last excellent food. We can voucher that Dusit Thani ticks all the boxes. At first we were a bit hesitant about the plunge pool not having had one before as we got used to a front pool whenever possible or no pool at all. And how wise we were this time knowing that no matter the time of day or evening, you can just jump into this huge 'bath' come pool and relax from your activities in the privacy of your bungalow. What we also liked in our beach bungalow aside the outside hamac and lush vegetation, it's the easy water access from the shore and the beautiful coral formation and fish before reaching the reef. The resort supplies snorkeling gear and life jackets too. Now if you're looking for food worthy of a three Michelin Star look no further. Time to thank the almighty Executive Chef Olivier Portret, who spoilt us rotten with some delicious private dinning and special food from breakfast to dinner. Merci Chef. In addition Dusit has one of the best Thai restaurants we've ever experienced - Benjarong - many thanks to the Chef there and all the staff that looked after us many times and a special mention to James. Benjarong is also a beautiful restaurant with marvellous sea views wherever you look just like the classy and so tasty and creative vegetarian restaurant ' Sala' situated right above it with sea and island views even more dramatic higher up. We did have a soft spot for two other restaurants as we frequented them both during the day and some evenings. 'The Market' for breakfast and special evening meals, theme based, where we were greeted each morning by two elegant people Mai and Priyantha always with a smile and a nice word just like all the Chefs and cooks at the different stations and the exceptional and caring Maldivian Chef Atta whom I warmly thank for preparing a plate with my favourite fruit each morning. The restaurant managers, the supervisors with their teams there, are all very attentive and so so caring. They knew exactly what was needed. So warm- Also thanks to Dr Sofwan - well he'll know why I called him Dr, given his amazing panel of home cures and drinks if ever you feel slightly wheezy! Actually he's the restaurant manager at the Market! If you fancy a drink before dinner simply head towards the 'Sandbar' for some old and totally new lovely cocktails - thanks to the cocktail mixers! Especially at sunset on a nicely furnished terrace right by the main pool. Finally in the F&B section many cheers to Seagrill at lunch time or in the evening where you're welcomed so warmly by the lovely ' Raveesha' and all the team in particular our star Irfan who knew exactly what we liked from day one not only food wise but also with their excellent wine list if you're on AI or à la carte together with their cocktails menus. Many warm thanks Irfan as you really made our stay so comfortable. So attentive to details and caring too. There are so many people to thank and we didn't want it to be just a long list of names and as each department works as a team it's only fair to thank each and every one at Dusit Thani for making our holiday a pure escapism and gastronomical indulgence in tropical paradise. A special mention to housekeeping in Rooms 204 (OW) and 106 (Beach). Very much appreciated. There's a formidable Spa too 'Devarana' among lush vegetation and forest like environment with beautiful trees and lovely scents . I did try it and had a wonderful balanced massage from their signature special offer and if you're on AI you get a reduction. Thanks to Sky my excellent therapist. Dusit Thani is one of the best resorts we've ever encountered in the Maldives and best holiday we've ever had because of the fantastic human dimension. It's on our top 5 best Maldivian resort. All the signs of an excellent management leadership, together with professional and attentive teams. If I can scratch my head and look for something to be improved bearing in mind that Dusit is an eco friendly resort, I would only say to keep a close eye on some aging wooden panels and fixtures in the beach bungalows. Having said that we did notice that some waterfront bungalows are being renovated. So Dusit is always one step ahead of wear and tear unlike some other resorts. Merci Jean Louis, Merci Olivier, Merci April, Irfan, Hermea, Abbi (Sommelier) and each and everyone at Dusit. Good Job !

Our second visit to Dusit Thani Maldives was even better than the first. The improvements in the food were noticeable right away — more variety, better quality, and consistently delicious meals throughout our stay. The house reef remains one of the resort’s greatest strengths (please look after it). It’s incredibly accessible, and the marine life is outstanding. Whilst snorkelling around our water villa, we saw colourful tropical fish, sea turtles, octopus, eagle rays and reef sharks. The staff continue to be exceptional: warm, attentive and genuinely committed to making every moment special. The resort is spotless, and the water villas have huge decks that make relaxing outdoors effortless. Even if something goes a little bit wrong, the staff will go out of their way to more than make up for it. Special mention to Sofwan, Mai, Alex, Nizam, Raj and the in villa dining team. We also loved getting around by bike — such a fun and easy way to explore the island. We are glad to hear that there are plans to improve the fitness centre. Other than that, in terms of improvements, the coffee could be better, maybe consider a Barista instead of a machine. Overall, Dusit Thani keeps raising the bar. Already looking forward to visit number three!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Dusit Thani Maldives — truly a 10/10 experience. From the perfectly organized airport transfer to the warm welcome and seamless departure, everything was exceptional. The food was excellent, both at the buffet and in the restaurants, and the service throughout the resort was outstanding. Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, remembering our names and even our favorite drinks, which made our stay feel very personal. The resort is very family-friendly, and our children felt genuinely welcome. The spa is fantastic, and the pool area at sunset — with its bar, DJ, and live music — creates a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere. The house reef is amazing, with turtles, rays, sharks, octopus, and abundant colorful fish, making snorkeling unforgettable. We also loved that excursions were organized in small groups, which made the experience feel exclusive and enjoyable. A truly special place, with a strong commitment to sustainability, spotless rooms, and exceptional hospitality throughout.

Wife and I really enjoyed the hospitality and experience at the Overwater villa! It was really spacious and Muhey was our butler who gave us regular updates on activities around the island that we could sign up for. Bicycles were provided to get around the island. The hospitality was amazing and attention was paid to the small things that really matter (e.g. fresh water outside villa to wash sand off feet before entering, insect repellent provided in rooms). Everyone was very friendly and we even got cute towel animals every day. Benjarong was our favourite restaurant. But Sala and Sea Grill were great too. In particular, the vegan cuisine at Sala was really good. Our Pure Indulgence package included food and beverages (including alcohol), except for a select few. Shoutout to Obbs for being so friendly and hospitable! We also did 7 scuba dives with Arzan, our awesome guide. Really great visibility, saw lots of nurse sharks, and we got to see two huge manta rays on the first day of the season! Would recommend having at least Advance and nitrox certification to maximise bottom time and also some of the key dive sites are at about 30m. Service was great - they washed/rinsed/dried my BCD and texted me when it was ready for collection. Thank you once again, Arzan, Obbs, and Muhey for our wonderful trip!
