Dusit Thani Maldives

Our stay at Dusit Thani Maldives end of October/early November for 9 nights was absolutely great. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organized. Upon arrival, after a short stopover in the Hotel lounge at the seaplane terminal, we were warmly welcomed by our personal butler Jalaal, who took care of us throughout the entire stay with exceptional dedication and helpful activity suggestions. The island itself is a green treasure – tight and special vegetation makes you feel like you're in a tropical fairytale forest. Each guest receives a bicycle, which makes getting around the island both fun and easy. We were staying in a pool villa which was spacious and nicely furnished. Especially the open-air bathroom was really special. While there were minor signs of wear in some infrastructure, they didn’t affect our overall very positive impression. Certain refurbishment measures were already ongoing but didt create a lot of noise. Everything was very clean. Just a few steps from our villa, the vibrant house reef revealed an underwater world full of life – colorful fish, turtles, and even reef sharks were regular sights. We also joined excursions of the Watersports Centre to see manta rays, sharks, and turtles – unforgettable experiences that left us with lifelong memories. The massages at the SPA were excellent as well albeit at a premium price. The quality of food and drinks across the four restaurants (including a fully vegan one) was outstanding. Every meal was a delight! But the main asset of Dusit Thani is its people. The team, led by General Manager Jean-Louis Ripoche, goes above and beyond to make every guest feel special. We can’t name everyone, but a few deserve special mention: our amazing butler Jalaal, Irfan and Shahina from Seagrill, Amila from Sala (vegan), and Nemesha, Alex, and Ahmed from the Market Restaurant. Their hospitality and dedication made our stay truly unforgettable. We miss them – and the island – already, and we will definitely return. A wholehearted recommendation!

Beautiful resort and villas. The food was spectacular with a large variety of in menus and food choices. Wine selection was surprisingly good. Service and people were absolutely outstanding. Great location if you want good diving and snorkeling. We say the giant manta rays and just missed the whale sharks. If you want a long beach that you can walk, this isn't really your resort. But you'll have great snorkeling right from your villa.

First trip to Maldives and so glad we chose Dusit Thani. From the first interaction at the international airport all the way throughout the entire trip, we felt very well taken care of by the staff. We stayed in an Overwater Pool Villa and could see lots of fishes right below our deck. The room was spacious, cozy and nicely decorated. On our first morning, we spotted dolphins swimming past and got so excited. We kept looking out for them the next few days at around the same time at 7am but didn’t see them again LOL. We saw a good number of marine life – reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles, clown fish, triggerfish and many other reef fishes. The house reef (in particular from Dive Centre to Benjarong) is decent and snorkelling was good. During our trip, we were regretfully not able to experience any of the activities by the Dive Centre due to bad weather (dolphin cruise, nurse shark snorkelling, manta on call were all cancelled) but we were kept busy with the activities on the island itself. Would recommend guests checking out the Back of House Tour and Nature Walk by the Activity Centre. We were surprised that we are the only ones who have signed up for these and honestly, we learnt so much and had so many of our questions answered! We also joined the Thai Massage Lesson at the Spa and that was a fun couple activity. Had a Thai Massage session and my hubby said that it is probably the best he has ever experienced! Food was good at all restaurants as attested by so many other reviewers but for us, Sea Grill was our go-to – perfect for a late afternoon snack (on most days when we didn’t have proper lunch) and lovely dinners with our feet in the sand.. honestly we enjoyed everything we ate there! I also had the fortune (or misfortune?!) of visiting the doctor on the island and would like to thank the doc and nurse for their care. Special thanks to our butler Muhey, Laura from CSR, Rabreeu from Sea Grill, Dhuang from Spa and all the other staff who were so very kind to us. We look forward to coming back for a longer stay next time.

The service of the butler Ajaa was excellent. All the rooms were upgraded. The water villa pick-up and drop-off were very punctual. The breakfast at the market and the Thai restaurant were very to Chinese taste. There were a lot of marine creatures under the water bungalows. The turtles and corals were well protected. I will definitely come again if I have the chance!
