The Leela Mumbai Although we only stayed 1 night and 2 full days, our experience of The Leela Mumbai was excellent. Accommodation We stayed at the Royal Club rooms and they were spacious with a good big view of the city. The bathrooms were clean and big just like the whole hotel. Service We went out of the hotel on the first day using a hotel driver but found it very pricey for only going to 2 places. Overall, the customer service was amazing however. Regular hotel workers such as Prem Singh Rathod were kind and made our stay enjoyable and stress-free. Akhil, the manager at the hotel, was very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Any issues were sorted out quickly by the whole hotel team. Shoutout to Kartik who served us at the Citrus restaurant as he helped us with all dietary requirements and served with happiness and kindness. Hotel facilities and food There are many restaurants in the hotel and they have endless choices, from traditional Indian to intercontinental food from around the world. All food I tried there was fantastic but in particular the Wada Pav. This was authentic and was exactly what we expected to have in Mumbai. The swimming pool — we didn’t get to use — but it looked spacious and a nice zone to relax as it is secluded from the bustle and hustle of the city and rather in many palm trees and greenery. There could be addition of something like table tennis tables just to give something to do in the hotel. Other points Breakfast gets busy around 9:30–10 so it’s definitely better to go early for breakfast to avoid having to share tables and for maximum options. We found using Ubers were way cheaper if only going to one place like the Phoenix Mall which is nearby. If you were to do sightseeing and hopping between different places it would definitely be better to book a driver through the hotel. 5 Star!!

After a 10 day visit to our town in Gujarat we booked as four night stay at the Leela from 9th Dec to 13th on recommendation and we were not disappointed. This hotel meets every expectation from the impeccable service at all levels to the quality of the establishment to the food. The check in process was smooth and quick with staff attending to every detail. Our standard room was clean and neat. The internal communal areas are plush and marbled. The garden and swimming pool area is beautifully laid out. We had a half board deal in the main buffet restaurant for breakfast and evening dinner with a huge array of indian and western cuisine to choose from. Plain and simply the food was very good. We also indulged in a massage at the in house Spa facility ( chargeable) but was great. The staff are at hand throughout the hotel to attend to your every need! We also used ricksaws to travel to Juhu and Vile Parle which is the best quickest and cheapest way to get into parts of Mumbai. The hotel staff will order ricksaws , taxis etc for you. I understand that the Metro Aqua line is now operational with the Platform outside the back end entrance of this hotel and will zap you into central Mumbai very quickly and cheaply. The only negative to note is the pool does get festered with foliage and leaves from over hanging trees and shrubs albeit staff attempt to regularly clean the pool throughout the day. Full marks to each and every staff member and thank you.Overall it was a brilliant stay and would gladly return.

Very much enjoyed a 3 night stay in this hotel. While conveniently close to the airport the hotel had a very nice tranquil pool area to relax in. Our Club room in this high quality hotel was very comfortable and staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The club room was great value as it also included two way private airport transfers and access to the Club lounge for afternoon tea and canapies and drinks, as well as a separate nice area for breakfast (which was excellent). While the hotel is some way from downtown Mumbai it worked very well as a base, as a local tour company (Magical Mumbai) picked us up from the hotel and delivered us back at the end of the day. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Mumbai.

⸻ ⭐ 1-Star Review – Disappointing Experience at The Leela Mumbai The Leela Mumbai deserves a 1-star rating based on our recent stay. We have stayed at other Leela properties and this one does not compare at all—in terms of ambience, service, food quality, or overall experience. The property feels dated and in urgent need of refurbishment. It lacks the elegance and luxury typically associated with the Leela brand. What made the experience worse was the breakfast situation. A large wedding party had completely taken over the breakfast area, leaving no space for in-house guests. We were told to have breakfast in our room instead, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this category. Only after we complained was an alternate arrangement made. Overall, this stay was extremely disappointing and did not reflect the standards or hospitality we expect from the Leela group. We will think twice before choosing this property again.
