Stayed there for 3 nights and without any hesitation I can say it is the best hotel in town. We have stayed at "the Other One " over the years but it is not any more what it used to be. It has become very glitzi whereas the Oberoi reflects simple and discreet elegance. You will not get any better and friendlier service. The rooms are perfect (we had a suite), modern and functional. The main restaurant serves excellent food and accommodates every wish. Pity about the swimming pool which is a disaster: cold, windy, no sun! It is just an eyesore! Also not sure about their tipping policy. At the Oberoi in Kolkata a tip for the entire staff is left at the end of a stay which makes things a lot easier and also more pleasant.

It’s one of the best business hotels in the world. It’s super efficient and structured around the business traveller. The restaurants are of high quality and the staff and business centre meet all your needs. The rooms are are excellent but not over the top. Everything in the hotel screams efficiency and convenience for the business traveller.

I chose to stay at the Oberoi Mumbai after a wonderful stay at their Delhi property, and over my usual preference for the Taj Palace. My seaview room was spectacular - modern, comfortable, spacious - and service from the moment I arrived at 2am was gracious and attentive. The location along Marine Drive is a relaxing break from the hectic space of Mumbai. Highly recommend.

Another visit to the Oberoi in Mumbai and we wondered why we had stayed away so long - thus our 3 night trip turned into a 6 night adventure in a suite (worth plumping for) The discreet, yet attentive service, the quality of the Oberoi team, the excellent food & beverage offerings and the general state of the property contribute to the well-deserved Trip Advisor ratings. The GM Anupam Dasgupta runs a tight ship, and we the guests benefit from his ‘all hands on deck’ approach! TOP TIP: The Eau Bar has three things going for it - 1. They make a mean Old Fashioned (unique because they sprits it with a subtle anise spray) 2. The fantastic talent of the trio of musicians (Natasha, Georgie and Viv) - you will discover/rediscover your love of Jazz in an evening spent there. 3. The high level of service - they brought me my Old Fashioneds into the Cigar Lounge (and kept them coming)! Hahaha! The Spa treatment was excellent The above superlatives are deserved and are proferred by someone who has stayed at Aman resorts, Mandarin Orientals, FS, and a host of unique boutique hotels AND lives in Dubai. The ‘For Improvement’ recommendations below are equally valid: FOR IMPROVEMENT: 1. We booked a room via Oberoi reservations directly (and probably paid above various web offerings) - the room presented was an absolute after thought tucked away in a forgotten corner of the floor. 2. I was staying with a 6 year old - i expected the kids robe, slippers and an activity pack to magically appear after day 1 - they never did........until we moved to the Suite. Not OK by Oberoi standards. 3. FOOD: Breakfast is par excellence, the tasting menu at Italian VETRO was abysmal, and I was turned away at Ziva (Indian) due to an age restriction (only for over eights......despite having dined at VETRO the previous evening that had the same restriction!) - not acceptable! 4. NICKEL & DIMED: I was unimpressed to discover that you have access to the Resident’s Lounge if you stay in a suite BUT alcohol is still chargeable - this needs to be addressed as even lower rung establishments have struck the right balance. You’re in Mumbai so explore the food offerings outside the hotel - they are plentiful, value for money and absolutely delicious. Try Khyber - North Indian cuisine, Trishna - Seafood and Pizza by the Bay..........(all 3 reviewed separately) all within a stone’s throw of the hotel. Alcohol in most hotels ends up slapped with a total 38% tax - usurious even by Dubai standards! I stayed at the JW Marriott Sahar AND the Four Seasons (separate reviews) on this trip as well - I would still heed the ‘siren’s call’ of the Oberoi any time I’m in Mumbai!

This has now truly become our home as the treatment we receive from all staff is exemplary. They literally understand our needs without asking under the leadership of the managers Anupam and Natasha. I have stayed at various 5 star hotels throughout the world but The Oberoi Mumbai is simply unbeatable. Looking forward to our next stay. Shirish and Nisha Shah
