The August Mumbai Rains gave me a chance to stay at one of my favourite hotels in the city when I was stuck in office and decided its better to make the most out of the rains. So we decided to park ourselves at the Oberoi and the group never disappoints. Though we go there often to enjoy the delectable cuisines at its many restaurants, but this was first time as a guest and it was a happy realization that the hotel staff goes out of its way to make you comfortable. Not only do they try and ensure there is zero error in all things promised but ensure you feel at home, yet in a very non intrusive way. I think that's extremely important. Staff is always pleasant and smiling and concerned. Of course, all 5 star hotels are nicely furnished, but the Oberoi has kept in with the times, and feels very modern and chic and yet, very Indian. The facilities are state of the art. The fusion is difficult to match. Views of the sea are splendid especially since we were right in the middle of the monsoon! Knowing we are from the city and here only due to the exigency, the hotel offered us a deal on the spa and that was all that was needed to seal the deal. It has always been a pleasure doing business at the Oberoi, but now there's more to bring cheer!

The Oberoi was the start of our two week culinary tour with Vikram Vij, and what a start it was at the Oberoi. We arrived a night early just to have a little more time in Mumbai, staff was awesome. Rooms are awesome. One of the best hotels we have stayed at, it’s not a Palace, but a great hotel. Great chatting with the GM at our reception party, all the staff did a great job with giving us a taste of fine dining in India. Very warm and friendly place. Nice to be able to walk out and be right at the promenade... nice walk to have, always felt safe in the neighbourhood. We even took a stole down to another restaurant... wondered why we got such odd looks, but we would get use to them by the end of our trip. But I’m sure it’s because four rather pale looking folks walking down main streets did seem a little out of place when taxis are so cheap. Just want to stretch our legs, and it felt safe to do so. Can’t go wrong staying at the Oberoi ... I mean really, when have you had your bath tub filled with hot water and rose peddles waiting for you? Happens at the Oberoi !

Stayed here with my cousin when he came down to Mumbai. One thing that stood out was the service. The staff makes u feel like a king. The house keeping staff left a hand written note and I was pleasantly surprised. Entire hotel staff is extremely polite and helpful. Rooms and bathroom are both spacious and luxurious. Bed is very comfortable. View from the sea facing room is to die for. U get customized service when u order food. They just don't say NO for anything. 'Raan Mussallam' is must have at the Ziya restaurant. The price was a little on the higher side but luxury comes at a cost. Highly recommend to try at least once.

I am frequent business traveller and have been fortunate to stay in one of world's best hotels in cities like Paris, New York, Moscow, Seoul, Singapore, Hong Kong - to name a few! I have also stayed in several hotels in Mumbai. My personal experience at The Oberoi has been one of the best. The service and the hotel's staff is impeccable. The personalisation and the human touch stands out and makes the overall experience truly memorable. Each of the restaurants serve too quality food - both in terms of taste and presentation. The location of the hotel (Nariman Point), is perfect and the sun set from the pool, overlooking the ocean is magical. Having stayed at the hotel a dozen times at least, it's like home to me and I can't wait to go back in December. Kudos to the staff and management of the hotel. Abhinav

This is a great hotel if you want somewhere that has a strong focus on service. The facilities are modern which means it doesn’t have some of the the character of the likes of the Taj in Mumbai. Rooms are well equipped and comfortable, staff very much want you to enjoy your stay and offers a good choice of restaurants. The Michelin starred restaurant was good but didn’t live up to expectations. Suggestion to management ... introduce a centralised tipping facility like other Oberoi hotels have ... it’s a bit annoying when everyone hangs around waiting for a tip!
