We booked into this hotel as we arrived on the Friday for a week stay at our timeshare from Saturday. The experience was exceptional at this quality hotel. The rooms were of a very high standard and the restaurant was exquisite. Will definitely be returning.

Just recently went over to La Manga and stayed at the above hotel!! I was over visiting friends, who are from Murcia, and they recommended the hotel to me and I am so very pleased that they did!! From the first contact outside of reception to my last day everyone I met was courteous and obviously enjoyed working at the Principe Felipe!! The reception staff were all very helpful and the concierge was a fountain of knowledge!! A wonderful buffet style breakfast set up the day and there are several eating options both within the hotel itself and throughout the 1400 acre complex!! I sampled at least 6 different restaurant options and was well pleased with the overall dining experience in them all!! A special mention must go to La Cala restaurant which is set on a rocky cove with wonderful relaxing views out to sea!! I took my friends for Sunday lunch and it was a wonderful experience to say the least!! The hotel has a wide range of sporting activities that include 3 golf courses, a tennis academy, football academy etc and is very handily placed to explore La Manga del Mar Menor!! Cartagena, Cabo de Palos and Murcia are all within an hours drive and offer a different experience should you wish to venture outside of the La Manga Club complex!!

Stayed here with wife and another couple recently for a golf and sun break. Whilst not quite 5 star compared with Middle or Far East 5 star hotels the Principe Felipe is a very pleasant place to stay. Comfortable rooms, good pool area and good breakfasts added. We were at the hotel during the Footballer's Golf Classic - a bit lively at times but good atmosphere. Things we liked: Good golf courses. Excellent check in - at 11.30 am our room was ready for us and we were given the exact room number we asked for (this was a return visit). Nice pool with comfortable sun beds - and lots of umbrellas for shade. We only dined in the main restaurant once but the meal was very good. Plenty of bars and eating places within walking distance. Lovely staff in the poolside café and Piano bar. Things we didn't like: Nothing really - but it would have been nice to have an evening bar where we could sit outside in the warm evening air as the Piano Bar was a bit like a basement nightclub. Better coffee in the rooms and perhaps an iPod dock or similar would also improve things. Apart from these minor niggles we had a great stay. Would we go back ? Absolutely.

We visited this hotel in May 17 with our 3 children, we have been here now about 5-6 times and just stay here as it is a well appointed hotel in a great central location. The pool area was very well managed, the bar team were helpful and prompt, the breakfast area has had a refurb with I think was needed. The staff on reception were very efficient and responded to any requests.

Stayed here for a long weekend. We stayed in the main hotel and did not realise until a few days in quite how big the complex was. The hotel is 5* by Spanish standards but the hallways and rooms had a funny smell, damp almost. The hotel is full of Brits but everyone very civilised, it had an adult feel to it. The food choices were really good and it was nice to get out of the hotel to take the 5 minute walk to restaurants. You would definitely need to hire a car and parking onsite is free.
