Our Wedding at the White Elephant exceeded our expectations. After an exhaustive search that included the Chatham Bars Inn, Wequassett Resort and the Ocean House, we chose the White Elephant. We thought the professionalism and warmth shown by the manager Bettina Landt and her Banquet Manager Brittani Faye-Hunter just "felt right". They really came through. Their recommendations for layout, schedule, food, flowers, etc., really made the wedding special. Food could't have been better.Chef Tom Pierson did a really good job. Over and above the warmth displayed by the Hotel Management, it struck us how friendly the hotel's front desk people and housekeepers, really do make the White Elephant a truly special place. Rooms are very nice and well appointed (evening treats ruined my diet). Our guests were totally entertained, the location is very close (short walking distance) to town. The fact that everyone could visit town, rent bikes & mopeds, go to the beach, etc allowed everyone to be entertained. This was helpful, as we had family and last minute details to attend to. We highly recommend The White Elephant, my only regret is that it ended and we had to get back to reality.

This was our first time staying at the White Elephant and we loved it. The hotel itself could use a little TLC but otherwise the property is beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and all the complimentary rides about town were very helpful in the cold weather! We did not know until we checked in that the hotel was closing on Sunday until Thanksgiving. But this really wasn't an issue. The staff did not make us feel any less important and were great about providing accommodations/bag storage for Sunday afternoon - they even brought our bags to the ferry for us so we didn't have to carry them around town after we checked out (and the hotel closed). One slightly disappointing issue was the spa. The "spa" itself is okay. I wouldn't really call it a spa, but that the hotel offers spa services. We had a couple massage and I was not please with my masseuse. I usually get one massage a year, so I really look forward to it but this one was disappointing. She started the massage with ice cold hands and oil and was not consistant from side to side. Plus she got me all tangled up in the sheet and was forgetting to recover me. Her overall technique was fine but its the little details that help make it special and relaxing, which she completely missed. We wil definitely return and maybe inquire about having different masseuses.

Came to the island for a weekend getaway and had such a wonderful stay! The White Elephant is completely focused on the customer experience. I truly felt special as a guest of this property. They went over every detail of your room and left lovely treats during your stay. Each room has a Nespresso coffee maker which for me was huge, as I use this machine at home. The food on property was well prepared and the bartender GREAT! Even created a special chocolate mint martini for dessert for me, delicious! The grounds and resort were impeccably groomed and clean. I also appreciated the car service in and from to town back to the resort. A huge thank you to Sheila (concierge) for all of her recommendations, all exceeded my expectations. Thank you White Elephant, can’t wait to come back again ...... soon!

Conveniently located and with sumptuous suites overlooking the water, this is a great place to lodge at. Great service, decent food and great traditional decor. We stayed here during a great storm and could not have selected a better shelter to hide from the rain and the winds. Will be back.
