NOT a "Golfers Dream Vacation"

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We were sold a "Golfers Dream Package" for April 21 - 26. Not much of a dream. when I made my tee times, for my four days of golf, I was informed that the North course was being aerated and we could only play the south. That was fine, but they failed to mention that the South course was aerated the week before, it was cart path only, and lots of cart path construction. The fairways and greens were in pretty bad shape, because of the aeration. I will say the golf staff was wonderful with holding our clubs and having them ready for us each day. Silverado sent and email regarding early check in, when I requested it we were told that we could just come and check in and they would hold our bags and put them in the room when the room was ready. When we got there no one offered us the option of holding our bags. We did get a key and when the room was available we were informed. Unfortunately they forgot to tell us it was on the second floor. We were in the dark when we returned to the property and had a bit of a problem finding our room. The room was fine and very close to the golf course which was helpful. My husband would like to go back some day when both courses are open and in better shape.

Dated and bad for business travel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The rooms/bathrooms are extremely dated. The Wi-fi didn't work. I needed Wi-Fi as I was at a business conference and needed to work. Day 1, I asked them to fix it. They didn't. Day 2, I asked them to fix it. By Day 3, I had Wi-Fi, but it was a poor connection. Food was good at the grill and the conference. The meeting room was nice and had enough plugs and good Wi-Fi. The staff, particularly the porters, were very friendly. The room was clean, except there was a dead spider above the toilet that seemed to stay there suspended from the ceiling for the entire trip. I would not really recommend this hotel for a business trip and I would not pay the money for the quality of the furnishings and decor, finishes, etc. Christian Scali

We enjoyed the Silverado Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The grounds at Silverado are beautiful. We had a not so great experience at the fitness center. It was nice, but one day we were there it was crowded and a women, who was not on staff, was training another women in the only accesible mirror in the room. They were taking up so much room for an hour or longer. She had no social awareness what so ever, like didn't notice anyone else was trying to get in or around that area. It was like they thought thry were the only ones in the room. A man was on the Smith machine with his towel spread out on the bench, again for an hour. He sat there in between his sets and didn't ask once if anyone wanted to work in. The Grill breakfast food was yummy, the service was superb. Gustavo was our server and wow, after one morning we were sure to ask for him every morning. He knows how to make the guests feel special! Way to go Gustavo! The room was nice. It was a condo/apartment type building a short drive from the main mansion. You can get a ride from guest services. Our room was with about a 5 minute walk away. The Market sold Starbucks coffee and food and had gift shop as well. Overall, we had a great experience.

Good Resort.

My buddy and I went for the Blue Note Jazz Festival. Nice resort grounds, great staff, but as you know prices were inflated. The clubhouse was a great hangout spot after the festival. Kitchen closes super early and limited menu. I believe it was like 1030pm. Clean grounds.
