Reviews for Hotel Arista

okay experience

When I arrived to the hotel, I didn't know that I'd have to check-in and then make a trek back to where I parked my car to put a slip of paper on the dashboard. This is something that should be communicated multiple times up front. I also don't think it's necessary. The woman at the check in was polite when she explained that hotel guests needed to put this slip of paper on the dash, so that their security knew who was parking in the parking garage. If it were that critical, it seems like the hotel could also just collect vehicle information - instead of asking guests to go back to their cars. If I had known, I would have pulled up to the front first, checked in, and then parked. All that said, I think the little slip of paper practice is unnecessary - there are better ways to accomplish whatever goal is trying to be achieved. The room that I had (a suite) was very nice. It had a great view and overall was clean. However, the reusable bottles of hand soap, shower gel, etc. had greenish mold under them. I love the focus on sustainability, but would like to feel like all of the items in the bathroom are clean. The hand lotion next to the soap smelled terrible (almost like it was old). All of the lights in the room didn't work. They had a steamer you could use instead of an iron. That was fine, but the steamer itself needed a good wipe down/polishing up. I did ask for late checkout and check out was extended by one hour. When I asked for an additional hour, I was told it was $25. After what I paid for my suite, I did not appreciate feeling like I was being nickel-and-dimed over one additional hour. If I go to a different hotel where I have status, I easily get additional time. Overall, this hotel is a nice one, but I don't feel like anyone went above and beyond for me. And I paid enough for "above and beyond." Additionally, I was there for an event - and I know that that event paid thousands to the hotel. Given my overall dollar contribution for everything, I did not appreciate being told I had to pay $25. I noticed some reviews saying that their service was "above and beyond." My experience was not above and beyond. Everyone was nice, but nothing was exceptional - and this is especially disappointing given the suite I selected.

DO NOT HESITATE TO STAY HERE!! This hotel is SO charming and SO comfortable. We were in IL for the weekend to tour colleges and ended up choosing to stay outside of Chicago. Hotel Arista did not disappoint! We were welcomed immediately by the front desk (shout out to Valerie who made our stay spectacular). The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We had afternoon tea - a fantastic touch! I would 100% recommend this hotel to any traveler!

Great room. Bathroom was amazing with shower and deep bathtub. The pillows was amazing. Parking was easy. The only down fall had to travel 10 minutes for different food.

Room are nice and clean. Big soaker tub and walk in shower. My wife thought the bed was rather hard but I liked it. Staff were friendly.
