Disappointed.

One of our very favorite places, until today. Pool and beach staff were spectacular, but it was hot, so we came inside to have a drink and some food. The bartender could not have been more rude. The bar was basically empty and we did not even get a hello to acknowledge we sat down. We were completely ignored, the people directly next to us were getting their full drinks topped off while we didn’t even get a glass of water or some sign that he was going to take our food or drink order. After sitting around waiting for over 15 minutes we decided to leave. This was a very sad experience but continues to happen more and more often. This used to be a place we came at least once a year, but I think it’s time to find a new resort.

Outdated tired hotel, not child proof

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Bars in balcony fence too far apart. Our toddler could just walk thru, they put up a net to be fair but for the money they charge it's not something you want to look at. Build In Closet in room did not have a lock attached to the handle so no means to close that door. Curtains did not close. Aluminium thin strip in front of door about an inch high, tripping hazard. Parking is awful, not enough spaces and no easy way to walk to your room so you have to use bell service. Elevator from pool level to beach pick up point does not work. Just feels old, tired and in need of upgrades. They did however bring a microwave and a net for the balcony so they are willing to help out

Sun, Drinks and Great Food …..

We have been here for 4 days and are enjoying every minute! Everything is clean, the staff is so friendly and helpful. One highlight of our trip is a server, Adrian. We met him at the pool where he was friendly and attentive. We went to dinner at “The Catch” that evening and asked for him, and he was amazing. Helped us pick out the appropriate wine for our dinner. Hubby had salmon and I had lobster ravioli, both were EXCELLENT. We ended up the evening with “Death by Chocolate” - another suggestion by Adrian, and decadent is the only way to describe the desert. This getaway has been perfect.

Spring Break

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This hotel has the potential to be really great. Every staff member we came in contact with had a positive attitude and we saw many go above and beyond for guests. The problem is that this hotel needs a renovation! The common areas aren’t bad, but the guest rooms and hallways are very tired. Walls need painting, carpet needs replacing, and furniture is dinged up. We even had holes in our bed sheets and curtains. We booked a Two Queens Gulf Front Double Balcony. We booked this during a Black Friday special and got a pretty good rate. I’m a Travel Advisor and I actually priced this hotel about a month ago for a client and it was almost double for a lower level room (which I don’t think is worth it). Like I said the room needs a refresh, it’s not terrible, but holes in bed sheets and curtains isn’t a great first impression. The size of the room was great, very spacious, but if I had known the second balcony didn’t have furniture I wouldn’t have booked the room. That was disappointing. We used room service several times and they always arrived fast! They still deliver room service in a cart (some hotels have switched to dropping off a bag of food) and we really enjoyed having the table and real silverware to enjoy our meals in room. The pool area is great. It was crowded, but it was spring break. We rented a cabana one day and I would highly recommend it. The pool wait staff are all amazing! Food and drink service was always prompt. The beach is also nice. There is a shuttle and it’s about a 5 minute ride. I was surprised that the shuttle is shared with the public beach access. The line to get on the shuttle back to the hotel was very long. There is no priority for hotel guests. The public beach area is to the right and that’s where you sit if you bring your own chairs/umbrellas. But we saw many personal umbrellas and chairs mixed with the hotel guests. We even saw people try to take chairs and an umbrella that they didn’t pay for. The staff told them no, but they still sat their own chairs right in front of us. This shouldn’t be allowed, they should have been told to go to the public side. I had to pay for my rentals. If they aren’t going to enforce the rules they have put in place they shouldn’t be charging the hotel guests. The staff really made this trip great! We had a relaxing week, but we likely will not return until they renovate.

Modern, clean resort with easy access to beach!

This resort is at a great location. Modern look and feel. Clean floors. Friendly and competent staff. Very good on-site dining. Try their on porch wood fired pizza. Good pool. Liked their "tram" shuttle to beach where they have a restaurant. Not that expensive either.
